You just stop caring at a certain point. You're not a slave to the job. They need you too badly. That directly affects your power of negotiation; if you stay, it keeps increasing, if you leave, they get fukked. Either way, I once had the whole staff smoking a fat joint in my car until the Gen manager came outside and told everyone to gtf back inside. It's just... normal.

If this is that a restaurant I definitely understand but this is McDonald's, there literally isn't anything worth complaining about outside of your own life.

These stories sound a lot like my old job at a hotel that had a bar and restaurant during the winter the place was usually empty except a few guests that where usually tourists and the other cook I worked with had the federal licences the make and sell his own moonshine which he did but he always allowed us to sample a few pint jars of it and the way he flavored it was by putting fresh diced fruit in the jars with the shine and letting it sit for a few weeks so it became really smooth almost no alcohol burn and it was 120 proof too and best part the manager left an hour before the bar opened so we would sit there in the bar before opening with the bartender and waiter and drink moonshine
Once noticed a coworker of mine turn up high once, was gonna turn him in but I owed him $40, was a chill guy. Reported his friend though, fucker owed me $10 I covered for him at KFC once.
