- We visit the almighty Band Maid again on this episode . This time we visit the song Play again but this time it is a live version from 2020 . Thanks for watching . As always stay safe stay strong .
You know it's a great band and song when three old dudes are bopping their heads in time with the music and smiles on their faces. BAND-MAID ROCKS!!!
There is no other band that works so hard on their live versions, always giving them a touch of freshness and novelty to keep them always updated in their repertoire.
You three deserve to see Band Maid live. So many bands can't tour and some have tried a livestream show but you can't beat the experience of seeing a good group live. Apparently, the band Maid ladies are smaller than people expect but they certainly fill and stand tall on the stage.
I know i have missed so many shows because on covid .
Subbed. I have caught a few of y’all’s reacts I just occasionally forget to hit the subscribe button even when I like the reaction. I dig that you all get to react together IN PERSON, I do reacts with other people but it’s always they are in other states or even countries, I’m a little jealous lol. Hopefully you caught the ladies by now live I’m not sure where you live but I’m in SW Florida and it’s hard for me to see the band live as much as I’d like too. I don’t even know for sure they are doing FL this year, I saw them at Rockville 23 but they aren’t on the bill for 24.
Forget they're all female. Forget they're dressed as maids. Know that two members (Misa - Bass, Akane - Drums) are classically trained pianists and musicians who studied at the Tokyo Academy of Music while Kanami, the lead guitarist, has also been playing piano since the age of 3 or 4 but is concert standard. Almost unbelievably, given her skills, she only switched to guitar about 10 years ago! They all have superb musical ability as well as passion, a lack of ego and the drive to play real, in yer face, Rock which is why they are THE best live Rock band on Earth right now. OK, now that's explained, you can go back and marvel at how cute those outfits look and how incredibly beautiful all the band members are. The only band I've seen that is playing live like bands I went to see in the 70's, such as Led Zeppelin or Sabbath or Zappa. Real guitars, drums and bass played loudly and with passion as well as powerful Rock vocals with not an autotune in sight. And like those bands, they are all really close and know how to have fun together on stage. They've revived the classic Rock sound and given the genre a much needed kick in the ass, as Babymetal have done for Metal.
I agree they sound great live they are the real deal .
The fact that the group also writes their own music in their last 3 to 4 albums since "Alone" in the "Brand New Maid" album. Kanami writing most of them as far as I have read.
This music just makes me happy and energetic. No matter which song. If i printed their smiling promo pic it would probably has the same effect
First off, RIP Eddie Van Halen, can not tell you how saddened I am at his passing... . Thank you for reacting to Band Maid, I needed this lift to my spirits!

Kanami, lead guitar, wrote a sincere and heartfelt letter to his brother acknowledging his inspiration in her music.
You won't of noticed from the vid. But "PLAY" is the song where King Kong got ejected for trampling over the crowd to get a closer look at his fave drummer Akane.

@@GaryHolloway-810 Eddy Van Halen just died from throat cancer. This is sad and l don't want to make light of it but Kanami Tono is now the world's premier finger tapper hands down. RIP EVH. You will live on as Kanami's pre amp.
@@sacluvsBM Man that's sad news. I know you're not being frivolous Robert. When I look back now, whether from D.L.R. or Sammy Hagar eras, Eddie played solos with a huge smile on his face. It's reminiscent of exactly of how Kanami plays today, always smiling & with love for her instrument & the music. I'm sure the great man would be proud of her. R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen :(
Love these ladies, they are all great but holy hell the rhythm section of Misa and Akane just drive these songs.
Kudos to Haro Matsu as well. He is the curator of all the Band Maid reaction videos (including yours of course) on his channel. I check it every day. (Ok, several times a day.)

People from all over who discovered this band and on their own volition decided to help publicize what so many of us believe to be one of the greatest rock n roll bands to ever grace our planet. What you're looking at with Kanami's PRS is the flame maple top. In this particular concert it does sort of resemble digital camo, but it's at least a lvl 4, probably lvl 5 natural figuring in the wood grain enhanced by the stain.

MISA!!!! MISA!!!!! MISA!!!!! YEAH!!!!! how did you like the new intro to this song???? The conversation between MISA and Miku was great. They made this song better. If your only option is coming to LA to see Band-Maid you have a place to stay out here.

Trill in the UK is a popular birdseed brand, which left the way open for me to write a Small Pigeon/Birdseed joke reply. But I didn't cos I'm too nice...plus they might of been a psychopath. 😳🔨🗡🪓

If that stage-shot looks familiar at the end, it's because this song lead directly into Domination. And I believe (without looking it up, so may be wrong), that Freedom preceded this one. Quite the energy for songs 20-21-22 of their 23-song set!

Any background photo with Akane in the Little Hat is cool with me. I love that MISA is about 7" taller than Miku. LOL BTW, Saiki is not taller than Akane, she just has heels on, so does Kanami.

Theres definitely some post-pro, but! Thats pretty normal since the 70s. Its not invasive and this show reminds me a bit of Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous (Videos of from the 78 Rainbow show) when it was recorded and clips are all over youtube now. They had that perfect (IMO) balance when young (18 in those) Brian Robertson was the 2nd lead with Gorham. However, unlike Band-Maid, this was Lizzies peak. BAND-MAID is just getting started it feels like.

Play is one of my fav Band-Maid songs, and then I hear Domination or Moratorium and I can't decide. lol And, yeah, seeing Band-Maid is on my bucket list if and when they come to Cali. I missed them when they played The Chapel in SF. Won't make that mistake again!
Domination might be my favorite but they have so much good music
