Well Dover was the one who used his son to kidnapp Simon and was the first to attack Gustavia... it just so happens that Gustavia managed to flip it back on him and you know the rest
He even confessed all his crimes thinking that the statute was over, not knowing that the fact he ran away for 3 years and Master being convicted as an accomplice a year after the murder delayed the statute by four years, meaning he could still be arrested.

Spoilers You know, thinking about it... The murder Gustavia committed was pretty much the catalyst for the entire Ace Attorney series. If he hadn't committed the murder, Gregory wouldn't have butted heads against Von Karma, meaning DL-6 would never have happened, meaning that Edgeworth would likely have become a defense attorney, possibly meaning that Dahlia Hawthorne would have been taken down more easily the first time around since Edgeworth wasn't in the way, meaning Mia never would have met Phoenix, meaning Phoenix wouldn't have become a defense attorney. And even if things played out the same in Terry Fawles' trial, Edgeworth still wouldn't be a prosecutor so none of the events in AA1 or 2 would have occurred. Funny how these chains of events work.
The funny part is, it was all about desserts for God's sake DESSERTS! Additionally, if Isaac Dover hadn't stopped Simon Keyes from tasting Dane Gustivia's desserts, then the murders in GK2 wouldn't have happened.
You're forgetting something crucial when you talk about the impact on T&T - not only would Edgeworth not have become a prosecutor, but Mia would not have become a defense attorney, as Misty Fey wouldn't have vanished and she wouldn't have become an attorney in order to track down Redd White, therefore the case would have different people on defense and prosecution, so there's no real way for us to know whether or not Dahlia would be easier to bring to justice.
Knowing how much of an impact this single man had on the rest of the story it’s just insane. And this theme man, oh my god it’s incredible. It was good enough the first time and then listening again with the full picture on Gustavia and everything his actions caused, it sounds even better.
I love this theme, it starts of calm, peaceful and sort of with wisdom as well but then it quickly becomes chaotic, powerful and even destructive. Fits perfectly with Gustavia
I just love how this game has a theme dedicated to the mastermind of each case including the first case with the threat being the so called president if you get what I mean later in the game. Considering how all the cases in this game fit together so well, having such badass themes for each villain keeps every case and challenge very distinct. I love Investigations 2.

He purposefully forged an autopsy report and didn't tell Manfred about the missing body, which led him to get the penalty in the first place. Are the first few seconds of his theme supposed to symbolise how sweet and lovely Kazami seems at first, before rapidly growing more intense and powerful as his true nature is revealed?
The rest of the notes playing after that eerie intro is like listening to someone cutting through food of all kinds, making artistic confectionary pieces. Except with massive Samurai themes. Perfect.
Finally got around to playing this game (late, I know) SPOILERS For those saying he’s the catalyst for all events in the series I’d still have to say it was Von Karma, he covered for this guy by not letting the defence speak with him even though his actions were sus as hell just so it wouldn’t hurt his case. All of this could have been avoided if the defence were given the same investigative rights as the prosecution.

I was suspicious of this guy from the moment that he said his red shirt was meant to cover up any bloodstains he might get on himself. And then, just... nothing ever comes of that comment whatsoever. That always bothered me a little.

Isaku Hyōdō is the evil one here, who try to blackmail Yutaka Kazami and threaten to expose his taste disorder to the world. With no way out he had to kill isaku hyodo.
I dunno. I think Dover and Gustavia were both horrible people. Their children grew up to be pretty horrible, too. Gustavia killed for pride, Knightley killed out of jealousy, Simon killed for revenge, and Dover only really cared about himself. So I think all of them were terrible people.

@@SpicyZvo123 In my experience, you should play Omori! Has the best story I have ever seen (in my opinion) and I have never even come close to sharing ground with the characters. Those that have some have reported drastic catharsis and life changes. I recommend it wholeheartedly. After that, you could play Undertale and Deltarune. Omori is better than both (for now) but they are still masterpieces on their own right.

I think my favorite part of Gustavia's character is how he not only caused the entirety of the "modern" AA events to happen, but the fact that it was *so* fucking easy to avoid. The moment Dover started threatening him, he could have told Jeff. Literally. He would have to admit to the cheating, but Jeff may have helped him out anyway taking into account they had the same fucking disease, and obviously wouldn't have stood for Dover's misdeeds. Gustavia fucked over his child, Dover's, Gregory Edgeworth and his son, Jeff, Katherine, The Entire Fey Clan, and even Phoenix himself; causing the entire fucking *everything* to happen, because he was too dumb to think of a better solution that wasn't murder. Fantastic.
He seemed like such a nice old man too. I mean I felt bad for him that he ended up getting poisoned and he sucked so bad at design that he had to result to teaming up with Dover. If anything Dover is the real evil one here. It's his fault that Gustavia turned into a bad person. It's also his fault that Simon's life got fucked up. If it weren't for him then this whole case would have never happened.
I don't think you can really say that. Dover just drove Gustavia to murder. It was pretty obvious that Gustavia only cared about himself from the very beginning. He supposedly respected Jeff Master but hanged him out to dry for 18 years.
Dover and Gustavia were both people who only cared about themselves. Even if Gustavia can come off as sympathetic, he still abandoned his son for his own selfish reasons.

I'd actually say that the Japanese name is the best, just because I feel like the nature of his character and (especially) his theme song have such a Japanese feel to them, making it kind of silly to try and localize it away. I feel it'd also make sense in a western context, since a decent number of cooking shows (i.e. Iron Chef) are imported directly from Japan onto the Cooking Channel. Ideally, I would choose a new Japanese name that also translates the puns into English like they did with Victor Kudo, but admittedly I can't think of anything good off the top of head. I'm gonna say something a lot of people aren't gonna like but.. it's all kind of Jeff Master's fault?? Like he had recipes that could heal taste disorders and God knows what else and he just decided to keep them for himself, y'know? If he has released them to the public he could've gotten his disorder treated the second he identified it and Gustavia wouldn't have tried to steal it. I get "family heirloom" and all but it genuinely could've saved multiple lives, even if indirectly. He 100% did not deserve the treatment he got, however.

Gustavia killed for pride, Knightley killed out of jealousy, Simon killed for revenge, and Dover only really cared about himself. So I think all of them were terrible people.

Also, if his taste disorder was revealed, it would severely damage his pride.

@@SpicyZvo123 In my experience, you should play Omori! Has the best story I have ever seen (in my opinion) and I have never even come close to sharing ground with the characters. Those that have some have reported drastic catharsis and life changes. I recommend it wholeheartedly. After that, you could play Undertale and Deltarune. Omori is better than both (for now) but they are still masterpieces on their own right.

I think my favorite part of Gustavia's character is how he not only caused the entirety of the "modern" AA events to happen, but the fact that it was *so* fucking easy to avoid. The moment Dover started threatening him, he could have told Jeff. Literally. He would have to admit to the cheating, but Jeff may have helped him out anyway taking into account they had the same fucking disease, and obviously wouldn't have stood for Dover's misdeeds.
Gustavia fucked over his child, Dover's, Gregory Edgeworth and his son, Jeff, Katherine, The Entire Fey Clan, and even Phoenix himself; causing the entire fucking *everything* to happen, because he was too dumb to think of a better solution that wasn't murder. Fantastic.

He seemed like such a nice old man too. I mean I felt bad for him that he ended up getting poisoned and he sucked so bad at design that he had to result to teaming up with Dover. If anything Dover is the real evil one here. It's his fault that Gustavia turned into a bad person. It's also his fault that Simon's life got fucked up. If it weren't for him then this whole case would have never happened.
I don't think you can really say that. Dover just drove Gustavia to murder. It was pretty obvious that Gustavia only cared about himself from the very beginning. He supposedly respected Jeff Master but hanged him out to dry for 18 years.
Dover and Gustavia were both people who only cared about themselves. Even if Gustavia can come off as sympathetic, he still abandoned his son for his own selfish reasons.
Gustavia said so himself when you confront him at the end of case 3.

First, no one else picked it, so I figure it needs some love. :D
But second, and seriously, it sounds both cool and appropriate, and I can easily picture Capcom naming him that
I'd actually say that the Japanese name is the best, just because I feel like the nature of his character and (especially) his theme song have such a Japanese feel to them, making it kind of silly to try and localize it away. I feel it'd also make sense in a western context, since a decent number of cooking shows (i.e. Iron Chef) are imported directly from Japan onto the Cooking Channel. Ideally, I would choose a new Japanese name that also translates the puns into English like they did with Victor Kudo, but admittedly I can't think of anything good off the top of head. Any ideas, anyone?

I'm gonna say something a lot of people aren't gonna like but.. it's all kind of Jeff Master's fault?? Like he had recipes that could heal taste disorders and God knows what else and he just decided to keep them for himself, y'know? If he has released them to the public he could've gotten his disorder treated the second he identified it and Gustavia wouldn't have tried to steal it. I get "family heirloom" and all but it genuinely could've saved multiple lives, even if indirectly.
He 100% did not deserve the treatment he got, however.
