I've always done a French braid and when lately Im trying to learn a Dutch braid or at least practice .. I just can't i end up doing one line French and one line Dutch the braid looks so messy... so then I get confused and end up not doing it anymore

Practice a regular three strand braid under first then after you can learn the Dutch braid easy! I will make a video on this for you!

I'm confused....I must be missing something... I was always taught this was inverted or underhand french braid... been doing this on myslef for years...so when did this bbecaome a dutch?? did the right of passage get sold to the Dutch or something?
