all you must do is just practice :) ... after you start the braid, try to not look at the mirror. I found that looking at the mirror confused me more than helped me in achieving the braid I was working on...
I couldn't do that until a few months ago either.. It's all practice. I would say the fishtail braid was one of the easiest for me so maybe you could try that just with a small part to practice
punkynoute the "doing the braid part" is just practice, but I've had the same problem with the mirror. I think it's easier if you don't use a mirror for braids, unless you are very skilled in it.

I feel like braids are only for girls with healthy hair. Mine isn't destroyed but it's taken damage from dyes and seeing these tutorials with them separating pieces of hair with one finger without completely messing up the braid seems impossible.
Space Cheese try it's a 10 miracle leave in spray. Years back my hair was so bleach damaged it would snap at the threat of a hairbrush. The spray made it brushable and braidable
No shit lol. With my hair before i chopped it off it was like good luck getting that finger out again without creating a major knot. Fried hair sucks. I cut mine off just now. Went all edward scissorhands on it 😂
I feel you. I struggle with my hair getting tangled when doing braids. I suggest finding a product or diy a product to detangle or keep it from being tangle
