    For anyone who does not want to be exposed to the RF, radio frequency, waves emitted from your utility smart meter, we have developed a simple yet technically proven product to block over 98% of the radiation. We developed a custom Faraday cage the fits easily onto all smart meters in he US and Canada that blocks 98% to 99% of the RF, also called EMF, from smart meters. This video demonstrates how the "Smart Meter Guard" blocks the RF waves and shows the technical evidence verifying the radiation is blocked.
    While fairly simple in design the "Smart Meter Guard" cover really does block the radiation, completely! This Faraday cage is 98% efficient at blocking the smart meter radiation both outside and inside the house. Beware of the crude Chinese made copies of the Smart Meter Guard called the Smart Meter Cover. These actually leak RF. The Smart Meter Guard is made in the US not China.

    Your shield is NOT blocking from inside the house, for the interior protection can be made easily. Simply build a simple frame using 1” by 2”s. I bought (3) 7 foot pieces and build a 7 foot tall by 3 foot wide frame. Then stapled a roll of aluminum screening onto the frame and placed it indoors against the wall where the smart meter was mounted. This did the trick immediately . 👍🏻

      The service panel consists of a grounded solid box behind the meter. If you also fully encase the front of the meter with grounded foil or mesh, then you have a complete Faraday cage around the meter. Built well enough this should completely block radiation to and from the meter. If our justice system wasn't a complete joke, these meters would be ruled as unconstitutional as they are a massive invasion of your privacy aside from any health concern.
      These detect and report in real time what devices are switching on and off, they can absolutely discern with high accuracy what devices are running by way of looking at the changes in current draw. A microwave oven draws more current than the alarm clock on your night stand to give an example, so not only do they have an idea what is running and when, but they are documenting this detailed data versus simply measuring kwh consumption. Long story short, it is criminal, unwarranted surveillance being run by a non-elected group.

      Because there is no need to. The type of radiation a smart meter emits is of too long of a wavelength and, therefore, is incapable of breaking a proton off the nucleus of an atom, which would be required for EF radiation to cause health effects. But people are willing to buy anything for stupid reasons, so people will buy stupid products they don’t need like this meter guard. Oh, and if the electric company comes out to service your meter and finds this on it, you can expect them to seek legal restitution for meter tampering. Lastly, keep in mind your bombarded by EF radiation from the sun of various types every day

      Not to be argumentative, but i don't think we can afford to care about if we are ruining their readings if they are jeopardizing our health. They are in for many law suits I imagine. I don't see how they are going to save money in the long run, or even the short run but that's just my opinion. But if my health is affected I would and will take legal action. Makes me wonder if they aren't making money with this, then what is their motive for this invasion of our homes.?

    I live in Raleigh, NC and I opted out. I knew we would be getting a letter, telling us how much the one time "set up" fee would be, as well as how much the monthly "opt out" fee would be. That letter came today. It's ridiculous! The one time "set up" fee is $170.00. And the fee for "costs associated with manually reading the meter" are $14.75 a month. I think it makes much better sense (for us) to buy the Smart Meter Guard and have that one time cost, instead of pay $177.00 a year! In five years, that would have cost us $885.00, not counting the $170.00 "set up" fee. Thanks for this helpful information, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, you SHOWED US THE PRODUCT WORKS, several times over. Thank you.

    1. Genuinely works and makes people and their families safe!
    2. The smart meter guard man faces the fact that it's a great thing to be able to do something really good FOR THE GREATER GOOD so considering the difficult financial times make the Gard more affordable to people so they can be SAFE! Then the angst will turn to gratitude!!! And the smart meter guard guy , you will be overwhelmed with love good wishes and praise rather than defend your product which is no doubt good, but it ain't worth 129 bucks and is beyond your average battler with all other other financial strains. Do you want to "attempt" to get really rich or help people? Sell it for $39 and you may achieve both. Couldn't cost more than 5 bucks to shelf brother.
    Best wishes all. God bless coltrump🇳🇿

    I think if you take a plastic windshield bottle which has the same diameter as the meter then cut in half. Then wrap aluminum foil inside the plastic bottle. Then gently slide the plastic container over the smartmeter. Cost about the cost of windshield wiper fluid and 10 cents of aluminum foil. As an added bonus use the other end of the bottle as a funnel. By the way, this has never been done before by anyone that I know so I disavow any knowlege of this idea. By the way my headaches have almost disappeared and memory has improved but like I said I dont know if anyone including myself has done this.

      You can actually just wrap several layers of foil around the meter to block most of the stray radiation. As long as the foil is in contact with the metal of the meter box it should be grounded, and you can leave a small opening at the front to avoid completely cutting the signal off from the metering receiver. Hold the foil in place with aluminum tape (the kind used for duct work) or a hose clamp.

    Have you had symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, poor memory, difficulty sleeping, and lack of clarity in your thoughts? It may seem like these could be the results of daily stress and frenzy, but there could be another culprit. All of these are symptoms of electro-sensitivity, which is something that more and more people find themselves affected by. Studies conducted in 1997 found "less than a few cases (of electro-sensitivity) per million", however now as much as 2.5% of the population is affected by electro-sensitivity. Even with the most moderate calculations, electrosensitivity is 10,000 times more common today than it was 20 years ago. Why could this be?
    Electro-sensitivity and its symptoms appear to be triggered by certain microwave frequencies of electromagnetic radiation. Due to their high frequency, microwaves allow for higher transmission rates and smaller antenna sizes, which is perfect for high-tech devices that are constantly getting smaller and faster. These are devices such as cell phones, tablets, laptops, and any device that can connect to Wi-Fi, which can now include TVs and refrigerators

    I'm all for entrepreneurial spirit and it sounds like you have a great product there the only downside being cost and the ease of stealing it. It would be tempting at a hundred dollars a pop.Good luck with it. For me though self reliance comes first and I'm going to offer a low tech next to nothing solution. I'm not an electrical engineer so feel free to correct me. What I did was.take a piece of metal screen and wrapped it around the diameter of the smart meter till it was snug and overlapped by an inch or so. This I stapled into a tube with the diameter of the meter having maybe twice the length of the meter. Make sure that the staple on the end fitting next to the box is recessed maybe an inch so there is a little give to stretch it to overlap the metal box. The other end is folded over and stapled. It fits quite snug, wind is not going to knock it off.
    Not as elegant as your solution but certainly little danger of anyone wanting to steal it. In fact you could offer to make one for anyone in a five mile radius of you and live at the center of a smart free zone. The only downside I can think of is the screen in contact with the plastic casing, time and weather might cause staining which the electric company might not take to kindly to. A solution there might be to wrap the meter with some plastic wrap first to eliminate direct contact.
    Good luck with your product, I'm sure there will be plenty of people who will prefer your no hassle approach.

    What you are failing to address is the fact most homes have the meter attached to their homes. My office I spent most of my time in is directly inside the meter out side. My meter I just received has been going crazy. Even the old meter emitted high readings of radiation. The inside of the home is of my most concern. Do I put screen on my inside walls or tin foil glued down for the cosmetic effect? The screened bucket is a great idea perhaps, but seems might bring more trouble than its worth if you are not spending a lot of time out side by it.

  • @canamm
    @canamm 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    So, this guard stops the radiation from going through the face and sides, but what stops it from going through the back of the meter, into your house? Is the metal box enough to stop it? There are holes in the back of the box.

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +canamm Hi Canamm, The reason the RF doesn't go into the house from the back is because your electrical utility box is made of grounded metal including the sides, top, bottom and back. RF cannot penetrate grounded metal so your utility box actually blocks RF from radiating out the back. RF emits from the glass portion of the smart meter radially back into your house. RF is not directional it is radial in nature and goes in all directions including back into your house, similar to sound waves. Once the Smart Meter Guard is installed over the glass portion of your smart meter your entire utility box and smart meter are now covered in grounded metal that the RF cannot penetrate. We posted a video demonstrating the Smart Meter Guard blocking the RF inside the house on our web site. Here is a link to the video that shows this: www.smartmeterguard.com Scroll to bottom of the Home page, it’s the second video down. Thanks

      The meters are already in grounded metal boxes. The signal radiates around from the meter, so by covering it with something like foil or mesh you enclose it and limit the emissions drastically.

    • @SmartMeterGuard

      Kenneth Gardner Hi Kenneth, The RF radiation is blocked behind the meter as well with the Guard installed. This is because the metal utility box acts like a Faraday cage and blocks the RF at the back. The RF actually emits from the glass part of the smart meter so once the Guard is placed over the glass the entire unit is covered in metal that blocks the RF. Here is a link to our other video that demonstrates this. th-cam.com/video/3tXC8fjrwmY/w-d-xo.html Thanks.

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kenneth Gardner Hi Kenneth, Gas and water smart meters are a little more difficult to shield because there are several manufacturers of these and they all make a different size and shape. For some reason utility demanded that all electric smart meter be made the same size and shape. We are working on a Guard for these that will be more of a kit to size to the different size gas and water meters. In addition, we have found that gas and water meters don't emit as often as electric smart meters most likely for two reasons. One, they don't need to know you water and gas usage by the minute like electricity. Second, they run off of battery power and they don't want to replace the battery very often. Thanks

    They are just now installing these smart meters in our little town and opting out is very expensive. I have looked at other covers that not as well designed as these and I hear that the utility company is taking them off because they can't get a signal from the smart meter if it's blocking at 100%. Will be saving up for one of these! Wish I had enough money to get a few for the neighbors as well.

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mudfossil, Thanks for watching. The reason it blocks the back as well as the front is because your utility box is made of grounded metal, including the sides, top, bottom and back. RF waves can not go through grounded metal so the utility box actually blocks the RF directly out the back. RF waves emit out the glass portion of the smart meter. RF waves propagate radially in all directions, including back into your house. It's very similar to sound waves. Once the Guard is placed over the glass part of the smart meter your entire unit is now covered in grounded metal, blocking about 98% or so of the RF, including out the back. Hope this helps. Thanks

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      DB, If you understood how RF works you would realize that even though someone might be exposed to it by many sources, it's the power level of the exposure that worries most people. RF power density drops off rapidly with distance so sources of RF a long ways away are almost at ambient level. However, if your child's bed is on the other side of the wall from a smart meter the RF power density from the smart meter is much higher. While we don't know what effect that may have it's a basic law of physics. Hopefully you understand this since you are telling people what isn't or is good for them.

      health risk to radiation by smart meters is hundreds or thousands of times less than that of cell phone usage, which in turn is so small as to be barely measurable even in large multi-nation studies (if it exists at all).So why do people still oppose smart meters? Are they ignorant of the scientific facts? At the very least, both leaders and followers of the anti-smart meter movement are being inconsistent. After all, if they truly are convinced that microwave radiation constitutes a material threat to good health, even at extremely low levels, then they should: 1.Not even carry, much less use, a cell phone, smart phone or tablet. 2.Not permit anyone else coming to their residence to carry or use a cell phone, smart phone or tablet. 3.Avoid Bluetooth technology for earphones, printers and computer mice. 4.Not visit any business establishment (almost all) that has public or private WiFi in use. 5.Not visit any business establishment (almost all) that permits customers to carry or operate cell phones. Needless to say, we hardly expect that the opponents of smart meters in upper-middle-class Marin County will stop shopping, toss their cell phones, quit connecting their laptop to WiFi, or discontinue regular lunches with friends at local WiFi-enabled cafes. Nor do we expect them to discontinue driving, which is many thousands of times more dangerous, or to give up bad habits, such as smoking or heavy drinking, that are far more dangerous still. And therein lies the problem - opponents of smart meters are either massively uninformed as to the scientific risks relative to other forms of risk in daily life, or else they are being highly disingenuous.

    The other problem with smart meters is that they allow the power company to turn off your power if you are using too much (say A/C during the day) or something like that. It's an invasion of your privacy, still all about control of you/your household AND can still be hacked - which is another problem with them.

    • @GilmerJohn
      @GilmerJohn 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't heard of that. I doubt that you could integrate a 200 amp switch in a "smart meter" but who knows. BUT the power companies can definitely read some of these meters remotely by just driving around the neighborhoods and the electronics "polls" the smart meters for whatever the company wants to know to include "peak" usage for peak usage charges.
      Our local company was willing to pay us something like $80/year if they could put a relay in the "demand" circuit for the heat pump. This is a 24 volt circuit that draws less than one amp. In years past, some power companies would pay you if you let them install some stuff that would switch your water heater on and off. It was more trouble that it was worth. When we got out house in 1998 there were the remnants of the system but the remote control switch was gone. I had to pay an electrician to remove some "always hot" wiring.
      In any case, your "shield" might prevent the power company from remotely reading the meter and they might consider it "meter tampering."

      Hi K M, We're sorry you feel this way. We decided to make a quality piece of equipment. It's a common misconception to assume it's easy and not expensive to make if you're not familiar with metal fabrication, which from what you say below is the case. It is made using high grade 316 stainless steel so it won't rust or corrode and will last 10 to 15 years if not longer. In addition, it's made with 8 stainless steel parts that are individually cut, hemmed, pressed, bead cleaned, shaped, assembled, spot welded and polished all by a metal fabricator in the US, not China. We understand to the inexperienced eye that it looks simple and not expensive to make but it's not. If you really feel it's still too expensive we would challenge you to go to a local metal fabricator and get a quote for the same and you will see that our price is actually a good deal. Please let us know what quote you get.

    Changing back to an analog meter is better, because even when you block the RF radiation, the switch-mode power supply inside the digital electronic meter still interferes with the power flowing into the house wiring and causes transient voltage and EMF which is just as harmful as the RF.

      +oddballcourt Hi oddballcourt, We have measured both the RF power emitting from smart meters and the induced RF it puts on your power lines. The RF transients smart meters induce on your power lines is about 10,000 less than what the smart meters emit without being shielded. While some people may be sensitive to the induced RF transients it makes much more sense to shield yourself from what is exposing you to the highest RF power, the smart meter. Thanks

    QUESTION: How does one protect against their NEIGHBORS smart meter? Her meter faces my wall! Where can I get that meter youre holding up there for testing? How much does it cost?

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Wheeping, That's a tough one to solve. First, if your neighbor's smart meter is 40 to 50 feet away then you really shouldn't worry because the RF power level at that distance is quite low, almost ambient. If your neighbor's smart meter is close you can do one of two things. One, you could put a Smart Meter Guard on it. If they don't want one then the next thing you can do is to put some shielding between you and their smart meter. Aluminum window screen is very efficient at blocking RF and you can get it at your local hardware store. The key is to make it as big as possible and have it in between you and their smart meter. Hope this helps. Thanks

      Not that far. More like 20 to 25 at best. This would work to put on the side of my house? I dont know how much that stuff is, but would I only have to do with the directional issue, or up and down and broadside? Dont know how well duct tape would work on vinyl siding though, do you? lol I raised seven kinds of H...l with the Gas company Atmos, but they wont remove it, and I dont talk to the neighbor. So...its up to ME. thanks, waiting for your response. Where can I get one of those meters?

      @SmartMeterGuard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wheepingwillow24u17 Hi Again Wheeping, Yes, putting aluminum window screen on the side of your house directly between your living space and their smart meter would block most of the RF. Again, the key is to make it as large as you can. Imaging that you wanted to shield yourself from your neighbors light. The bigger the shield for the light the less light will go around the shield. RF shielding is the same way, the large the shield the less RF will go around it. For applying it to the wall you could simply use a staple gun, tacks or even small nails. Thanks

      SmartMeterGuard With my experience as a electronics technician the smart meter will still be consuming the same power but if its output is proportional to the range required for data transfer using this device may actually increase the consumption.Putting a mask over it is just like a microwave just because you don't get burned by the 1000w emissions because of the mask filtering out the frequency doesn't make any difference on consumption.This will still be trying to receive and transmit possibly at a higher power and the mask wont stop anything going back into the house in fact it may amplify the reflected emissions and make them more directional.CHEERS

Both device will transmit and receive however you don't have the protective mask like you do on a microwave door used as a filter.I tried warning people about this back in 1985.RF is Electro-Magnetic-Radiation and every transmitter uses it

    Hi I am a non-technical person who was BLOWN AWAY when I saw the health effects smart meters have had on certain people. I understand distance plays a large role in this. If you have a big house and you hang out on one side and the meter is on the opposite then odds are you won't have any problems but if your meter is right where you spend most of your time in the house (or live in a small one) then many people are reporting some pretty horrible things happening to them.
    But one thing that does confuse me about your product and I would be interested in learning about before purchasing them for my parents (I live in an apartment building on the upper floors and the meters are in the basement so I'm pretty sure I'm a-okay) is does your product block these from a 360 degree angle or just from the side that the cage is on? Is this just reflecting them backwards into the house or do the waves only come out from the side this is blocking?
    Also to most commenters here. The amount of RF waves these meters put out compared to a cell phone or router are INSANE. It is like saying "I can go in my bath tub while holding a cinder block therefore I should have no problem holding onto one in the ocean".

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI Steve,
      Yes, you are absolutely correct in that being further from the smart meter is much better. RF power density drops off rapidly with distance but like you mentioned many people have smart meter on the other side of the bedroom wall or are very close to them.
      Yes, the Smart Meter Guard blocks the back of the meter and doesn't reflect RF back into the house. This is the technical reason why it blocks the RF inside the house. Your electrical utility box is made of grounded metal including the sides, top, bottom and back. RF cannot penetrate grounded metal so your utility box actually blocks RF from radiating out the back. RF emits from the glass portion of the smart meter radially back into your house. RF waves are not directional they propagate radially in all directions including back into your house, similar to sound waves. Once the Smart Meter Guard is installed over the glass portion of your smart meter your entire utility box and smart meter are covered in grounded metal that about 98% of the RF cannot penetrate. The 2% that gets out is enough for the utility company to get their signal.
      We posted a video demonstrating the Smart Meter Guard blocking the RF inside the house on our web site. Here is a link to the video that shows this: www.smartmeterguard.com Scroll to bottom of the Home page, it’s the second video down. Thanks

      Hello Jan, Yes, you are correct. The back of the utility box blocks the RF out the back. RF emits out of the glass part of the smart meter so once the Smart Meter Guard is placed over the smart meter it is completely encapsulated with a Faraday cage blocking 98% or the RF. Thanks

    What I understand and I've been diligently researching that blocking the emissions from the meter on your house only decreases a small portion of these waves,,the smart meter is just one part of this technology,,there is a smart grid that each house functions with that contains boosters placed depending on population mass each block also,,the smart meter on your house communicates with the other meters in your area and the power is boosted many many times during the process,,it this be the case then even if we cover our own home smart meter we still have radiation pulsating through our bodies constantly,these meters send a reading along with your neighbors readings in pulses on a minute by minute basis,,can we honestly prevent our exposure to harmfull high levels of radiation
    I personally have been back and fourth with Duke energy bout this for bout a year and I have encountered lie after lie,,broken promises and have basically been given the runaround and around,,I started with do not change out my meter,,they came and attempted any way,,so I talked to Duke again and was told that presently they do not have an opt out program but they are working on one and promised again that they would notify me when they arrived at an opt out process and they said I am on the list and they would not come and change my meter,long story short after multiple conversations with them over several months I awoke one morning get to a brand new smart meter on my house,the sob's had sneaked up in the middle of the night and put it on my house anyway.

      Hi Nolan, This video show us measuring the RF power density before and after installing the Guard. Can you please let everyone know what scare tactic we are using? What specific part of this video employs scare tactic?
      As for the cost, It's a common misconception to assume it's easy and not expensive to make if you're not familiar with metal fabrication, which from what you say below is the case. What is the hourly labot rate for a metal fabricator and how long do you think it takes to make? Do the math. If you really feel it's still too expensive we would challenge you to go to a local metal fabricator and get a quote for the same and you will see that our price is actually a good deal. Please let everyone know what quote you get. Thanks

      I'm very familiar with metal fabrication, I've worked in a machine shop and had custom metal pieces built for me. I understand the costs. I'm sure you buy in bulk using the economies of scale to lower your average cost.
      The rf being emitted is non-ionizing and not harmful. I consistently worked on semiconductor machines that use well over 400 watts of rf.
      You try to prove to people that they need to spend money for a non problem to "improve health". I call that scare tactics

      I go on my back porch and out in my backyard every single day to enjoy being out there. I take Spirulina supplements though, and also wrapped my meter and cell phone with aluminum screening anyway. Spirulina (blue-green algae) is said to've protected the people exposed to radiation in the Chernobyl fallout. Look it up!

      HI Allen, No, the EMF is fully contained in the Smart Meter Guard. This is what happens. Smart meters are mounted on a metal utility box, it's a safety standard. The utility box is metal on the back, front sides, top and bottom. RF, radio frequency, waves can not pass through the metal of the utility box. RF emits out of the front of the smart meter and once the Smart Meter Guard is put over it the entire unit is encased in a Faraday cage blocking the RF out the back and front. Thanks

    SMART METERS..How do I stop this when I live in an apartment complex and have 8 smart meters on each building, approx 40 bldgs, 147 antennas and towers close to me. I already suffer from thyroid disease and take Synthroid. It has severely effected my health (sweating exhaustion, fuzzy thinking, inability or desire to do anything) and I see it in others around me but I have NOT discussed it with them. I am in an over 55 community where most people are dumbed down or just not interested or don't believe it! Can any one tell me how to protect myself please. I got some shungite, its good for putting in your water too. My smart meter is out on a pole on the oppostie end of my house where I never live so Im not having a problem with that radation. Susan make sure you take some iodine potassiam for the extra radiation. You can get that in a pill form. Personally I think this guys idea is great and I have some screen Im going to try on my own, my bills have been higher ever since they put smart meters on us. I heard they are over charging, that those meters arent correct in the amount of electricty.

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He Tuned, Thanks for pointing this out because the Smart Meter Guard does block the RF going inside the house. Here is a link to our video that demonstrates this: Radiation Blocked -2 Radiation Blocked Inside the House We don't know how well you understand RF technology but here is a technical explanation of why the Smart Meter Guard blocks the RF inside the house. Your electrical utility box is made of grounded metal including the sides, top, bottom and back. RF cannot penetrate grounded metal so your utility box actually blocks RF from radiating out the back. RF emits from the glass portion of the smart meter radially back into your house. RF is not directional it is radial in nature and goes in all directions including back into your house, similar to sound waves. Once the Smart Meter Guard is installed over the glass portion of your smart meter your entire utility box and smart meter are covered in grounded metal that the RF cannot penetrate.

    • @SmartMeterGuard

      Hi Jessica, No, this Guard does not stop dirty electricity. Dirty electricity is small high frequency harmonics or transients on your power line. and are caused by many things including electric motors, fluorescent lights and many other home appliances. The only way to get rid of dirty power is to use a low pass filter. A low pass filter allows the low frequency to go through it but not the high frequency harmonic. Thanks

    @ SmartMeterGuard: You had replied to someone that had asked which was the best RF monitor to buy. You said, "The Gigahertz Solution HF 35C is about the best one to buy if you are serious about quantifying the RF power level you are measuring". You then gave a link to a website that compares 5 different RF monitors. One of those RF monitors is the Acoustimeter AM-10. That monitor has a frequency range of 200 MHz to 8 GHz (compared to the HF 35C monitor you recommended, of which just has a frequency range of 800 MHz to 2.5 GHz). Both monitors got excellent customer ratings from Amazon. Therefore, why do you say the Gigahertz Solution HF 35C is the best to buy when the other monitor (Acoustimeter AM-10) actually has a larger frequency range?

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kamal, Thanks for asking. Our preference is the Gigahertz Solution HF 35C because it has all the features we look for in an RF analyzer. The one we don't recommend is the "Acoustimeter 2" becasue it only has an LEDs flashing for the readout and the diference between each LED is huge. This means you can't really quantify the RF with the Acoustometer 2. The Acoustimeter AM-10 is just as good as the HF 35C. Smart meters emit RF in the 900 MHz range and for us measuring smart meters we don't need the 8 GHz capability pof the Acoustimeter AM-10. Thanks

    • @randomguy1882
      @randomguy1882 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, my username is randomguy1882 and not "Kamal". ha-ha. But anyways, the reason I want a higher frequency analyzer is because, in addition to smart meters, I would also like to measure my cellphone frequency range. and I think I had seen somewhere that the cellphone frequency range (at least in some cellphones) is much higher than a smart meter range. HOWEVER, I am not totally sure if I am correct on that. Maybe I am just imagining it. Do you know if a higher frequency analyzer (such as the Acoustimeter AM-10) is required to detect all cellphone frequencies?

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi ramdomguy1882, Sorry for the mix up on your name, must have been looking at the previous comment. Anyway, the frequency bands that cell phones use is 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz. Each carrier will use one of these frequencies for transmission of their signal. Some WiFi routers will use 5 GHz so the HF 35C won't pick those up but the Acousticom AM-10 will so if you want to measure the higher frequencies the Acousticom AM-10 is the analyzer to get. For us the HF 35C works well. Thanks.

    Is the metal ring around the base made of regular steel, stainless, or aluminum? I'm afraid that the wind might blow it off so I thought a couple of cheap magnets on the panel pushed up against the ring would make sure it stayed put.

    • @SmartMeterGuard

      Hi Zaappped, The metal ring at the base of the smart meter is steel. The screw clamp in the rim of the Smart Meter Guard is stainless steel. Once you cinch the screw clamp down on the metal ring at the base of the smart meter it is on very tight. Tight enough the wind can't blow it off and tight enough someone would have a very hard time pulling off. Thanks

      SmartMeterGuard I can understand people being scared of RF emissions, but this is mostly due to false information and speculation by persons who seem to overemphasize the facts. There have been thousands of tests performed by every civilized country for the past 50 plus years. And in all of those tests, the only effect of RF was heating of tissue, the eyes being most sensitive. Staring into the sun has the same effect,your eyes will get it first. Looking down the bore sight of a 1 watt microwave horn for 6 minutes will cause you trouble, and you'll start to feel the effects. But 1/20th. Of a watt per meter, and the inverse square law, is like having a candle in your neighbors yard across the street causing you harm. Smart meters are not transmitting 24/7 they pulse for a breef moment several times a day. And the term "Microwave" scares the daylights out people.... why? Because of the "Microwave Oven " It cooks my food, therefore it must be cooklng me.. When in fact, the microwave region of the RF spectrum has the least effects on the human body. I can see why people are so worried about RF, the term "RADIATION" is the biggest problem, and the misconception of what radio emissions really are is the second.

    • @SmartMeterGuard
      @SmartMeterGuard  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Robert Mitchum Hi Robert, First, thanks for your constructive input on this, it's appreciated. They way we look at it is that there are two areas to look at, the short and long term affect of exposed to RF. While we are not health experts we have seen a lot of people that are "sensitive" to RF. The tests you mention may not show adverse affects because more than likely the tests probably didn't include people that are sensitive to RF. One thing we have learned is that we're not in a position to tell people what they are or aren't sensitive to. For example, there are many people that are sensitive or deathly allergic to peanut oil but it's still sold. There are many people that are affected by Gluten but it's still around. Lastly on this is that the utility companies have found a loop hole in the FCC limits on RF. The FCC limits call for averaging power exposure where the utility companies pulse the RF at high power but when you average the pulses they meet their spec. Then there's the long term affect that we don't think anyone really know right now. Example, X-rays. These were widely used for decades until we found that it's very bad for you. Also, many drugs that were developed didn't show adverse affects until way after they were approved by the FDA. We're not alarmist, we're just believe that why not be safe and shield yourself or family if you are sensitive to RF and it's well tested and documented for the long term. Thanks

    • @SmartMeterGuard

      Def, you missed the point again. What gives you the right to go around telling people what is good for them and what isn't.. For every article that says something is not bad for you there are articles that say it is bad for you. People have their own reactions and symptoms and can research for themselves to decide what they want exposure to and what they don't. Why do you have to tell someone that something isn't bad for them base a on maybe one article? There are hundreds of articles on the subject. An example is fluoride added to water for strengthening enamel growth on teeth. There are some many people for and against it. Who is right? What are the long term affects? What side affect does it cause now or 10 years from now.

The is a very small amount of RF on the house lines that is induced into the wiring but it's extremely small. Thanks
