I knew it would suck because I couldn’t get a grip on what the story was supposed to be about; all I saw in the trailers was some girl visiting an amusement park that had talking animals and something about imagination. There was nothing to be interested in.

This really makes me sad, there are hardly any theme/amusement park movies in general and let alone good ones, I really hoped this would be good. I really enjoyed the trailers but everyone seems to be saying it doesn't live up to it.
The saddest part about this movie is that this is one of only three American theatrical animated films this year (Atleast according to AniMat's 2019 line-up) that's neither based on any existing property nor is a follow-up, the others being Missing Link and Dreamworks' Abominable. Thankfully, the next one (which is also the next animated feature AniMat has to review) is from a much more trustworthy studio.
"This is a ride that makes 'Stitch's Great Escape' look like 'Extra-terror-estrial!'" Ah, sick burns! I've not heard you mention Alien Encounter since the Scariest Disney moments list, and that was a solid analogy for this film. Also, have you all seen the pictures of disassembled Stitch? That would make for a scary Five Nights clone, I gotta say. But as for this movie? This could be the Nut Job of 2019. It even has a dog chase, but it also has some unpleasant and mean spirited moments and a derivative plot. Like The Nut Job, though, it has some pretty good animation and voice actors who gave a darn. And yes, I have heard the concept of a girl character going on a magical adventure with funny talking animals. It's called Alice in Wonderland. Like, seriously?? The park is called Wonderland???
Coincidentally, they made an RPG app for "Wonder Park" not too long ago. So this makes this movie even more commercialize because it was made just to promote the app & the upcoming show.
before the review came out, i had a dream where the review released but right when you get to the story, a screen shows up saying that wonder park didn’t come out in canada. the rest of the video is just random clips.
I recommend you watch Over the Moon by Glen Keane on Netflix. Sure it has a similar premise and different themes of losing a loved one, but you'll have a better time watching that than this unsplendiferous downer.
If i could've made some changes in the cast i would've done this: The porcupine would've been voiced by either Jonah Hill or Steve Carell. The blue bear would've been voiced by the late William Hurt And the chimpanzee would've been voiced by Christian Bale.
@Lumity Celebrates 100 Years of Wonder Except Don and Gary Goldman still have their names in the opening titles I think under the production company and also the fact his animation style in both the character design and animation is still obvious since it’s what he’s famous for and most amateur animators often like to imitate.
I didn’t want Paramount Animation to become the Fleischer Studios. I wanted Paramount Animation to be a successful animation studio like the glory days of golden age animation.
BigAlsAngryBirdVids Probably never going to happen. If we get one or two, then I’d consider it to be a great year for Animation. However, looking at the future lineup, I don’t think this is going to be a great year. Perhaps it’ll be better than 2013 and 2017, but as it stands, my hopes for this year aren’t very high...
Honestly, this could’ve been a great film. But, after numerous production troubles, no credited director, and story that’s a mess, it just sealed its own doomed. The best thing I can say is the show is better be good otherwise Nickelodeon might be in trouble with their future.
Is this the reason why Nickelodeon doesn’t make anymore animated movies based off of their Nicktoons shows? They could’ve had Rob Renzetti come back to make a full on MLAATR Movie
Animation is actually amazing. Story is utterly transcendant and characters are spectacular, so 9/10. The only thing I didn't detect is the word "sus".
I honestly (6x) really didn't want to hate this movie I truly didn't but still to think this was gonna be the next big time and feels more like nothing by wasted dreams and possibles goes to die and felt like walking through broken dreams of others who truly wanted to relive there favorite childhood theme park. Even the main character I actually wanted to relate felt like I truly didn't care for at long and same with Peanut and Boomer couldn't save this movie but truly didn't. Overall Instead of going to an amusement park I rather just relive my childhood memories with Dr Seuss PC Game featuring Gerald McGrew or piloting the giant Mecha Reptar back In Rugrats In Paris. As for the TV Series I doubt It'll Improve unless they truly tired and should've went with Lucky (2019) and you truly say that Wonder Park stole elements from Epic Mickey? I think Bendy was the true stealer and to be fair truly delivered the dark atmosphere of an abandoned studio and even one of the bosses actually felt resembled a new boss of Epic Mickey we could've gotten In 3/Army Of Petes!
Ana Gabriela Figueroa what do you have against spongebob? The Spongebob movie and rango are legitimately the only two nickelodeon movies I would consider more then decent or just good.
Speaking of the Nickelodeon show, this movie is now the 3rd time that Nickelodeon has turned one of their original animated films into an animated TV series after Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Barnyard. And man, Paramount Animation is having a pretty bad track record so far with this film, Sherlock Gnomes and Monster Trucks, the only good one they have is The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.
Except we never got a TV series and it’s most likely cancelled as a result from both the production trouble and the poor box office numbers and critical reviews.
I also have a few things to say with your review throughout. 1. You make a perfect point with Epic Mickey. Although this film tried to be more serious with the tone delivered, Epic Mickey's far better with it. 2. I never knew you played RCT. But having passengers crash to their inevitable doom? What is wrong with you!? LOL! 3. Aside from this whole review, I want you to know that you're awesome. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Like Mary Poppins once said, You're practically perfect in every way.
I didn't expect you to hate the movie so much. I predicted a 5/10 score. I also felt that the animation score was too low (you give this movie's animation a lower score than Sherlock Gnomes). I think Paramount Animation is your next Sony Pictures Animation, where they make pandering animated cartoons for kids only. I personally thought this movie was average, but too chaotic and annoying at some scenes, particularly the action scenes, which made my head feel hot. But my family seemed to enjoy it, and that's okay with me.
I really wanted this film to be a sort of Gen Z Alice in Wonderland, being atmospheric and trippy with little story, but no, we need to be Pixar, but cause it SHOULD be.
Dude I love extraterrestrial and stitches great Escape I kill you mentioned that in this video and epic Mickey oh I'm giving this video of forms up because I just can't leave your reference three things that I love even if you mentioned it in a bad way still I love how you mentioned those three in the same video what a coincidence
I did not like Wonder Park at all. I came out of the theater feeling very disappointed in it. And I hate to say that I didn't like it because I can tell there was so much thought, effort, and creativity that went into making the animation for this, and the fact that this movie just ended up wasting the talents of these professional animators is just sad. I really do hope that these animators get to express their creative outlets on a much better project next time because I think they deserve better than this. When it comes to Wonder Park though, it's just another generic and cookie-cutter animated feature with a bad script and unlikable characters. Not to mention that the advertising for this movie is an absolute lie. The trailers presented it as this fun and colorful adventure for the kids, yet it's one of the most hateful and depressing movies that I've ever seen in my life. I give it a 4/10. I thought it was a bad movie. As for what's next in the animation lineup, hopefully Missing Link will turn out to be a million times better than this film. In the meantime, I'll probably just wind up seeing How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World or Captain Marvel again (unless Shazam! gets good reactions, but we'll see). Say what you will about Captain Marvel, but it's at least better than Wonder Park.
“Maybe the Nickelodeon show will be better…” Well, we’re never gonna find out now, because this movie was so bad and did so poorly financially it killed the series before it could even air!
It's really a shame... Everything looked new and fresh from the trailers, which is great in a market dominated by reboots, spinoffs, and sequels. In the end, I hope this means that there will still be attempts to make new IPs.
This is my prediction for the animated films this year *sigh* I hope he's nice to pets 2 5. WORST: Secret Life of Pets 2: 7/10 4. WORST: The Playmobil Movie: 6/10 3. WORST: The Angry Birds Movie 2; 5/10 2. WORST: Wonder Park: 4/10 1. WORST: Uglydolls: 3/10 HONOURABLE MENTIONS: The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part: 7/10 Adam's Family: 8/10 5. BEST: Shaun The Sheep The Movie: Farmaggedon: 8/10 4. BEST: Missing Link: 8/10 3. BEST: Toy Story 4: 9/10 2. BEST: How To Train Your Dragon The Hidden World 1. BEST: Frozen 2: 9/10 We're also getting a minions 2 next year which already has a plot.

This really makes me sad, there are hardly any theme/amusement park movies in general and let alone good ones, I really hoped this would be good. I really enjoyed the trailers but everyone seems to be saying it doesn't live up to it.
The animation is gorgeous, sad to hear that the film wasn't.
Wow I wasn't expecting that. I thought it would be forgettable but I didn't think it would be that bad.
Nice DefunctLand reference at 8:47!
And I got back from Disneyland 😁
Lucky you I never been to any of the Disney parks. I really want to go it's one of my dreams to go there.
Chelsea Runyan hey you’ll go there one day just work hard and make plans for your next vacation
I go there every two weeks.
MegaSoulHero OHH COOL do you have a annual pass and live in California 😃
i remember seeing the trailer for this in theaters and my immediate thought was “this movie isn’t real”. it feels like it was made by an algorithm.
The first time I’ve seen it, one of the things I whispered was “ I can just close my eyes and picture Jennifer Garner inside my head.”
I don't know which is worst. This or Sherlock Gnomes
Definitely Sherlock Gnomes this is good compared to Sherlock Gnomes
This film: 5/10
Sherlock Gnomes: 2.5/10
8:46 Great Defunctland reference. XD
before the review came out, i had a dream where the review released but right when you get to the story, a screen shows up saying that wonder park didn’t come out in canada. the rest of the video is just random clips.
The weirder thing about Wonder Park is that in the UK version Tom Baker The fourth Doctor of Doctor Who is the voice of the Blue Bear. LOL!
I recommend you watch Over the Moon by Glen Keane on Netflix. Sure it has a similar premise and different themes of losing a loved one, but you'll have a better time watching that than this unsplendiferous downer.
If i could've made some changes in the cast i would've done this:
The porcupine would've been voiced by either Jonah Hill or Steve Carell.
The blue bear would've been voiced by the late William Hurt
And the chimpanzee would've been voiced by Christian Bale.
I think this is the first ever film that has no credited director. If that fact is true, then Wonder Park would have made history in the wrong way.
@Lumity Celebrates 100 Years of Wonder
Except Don and Gary Goldman still have their names in the opening titles I think under the production company and also the fact his animation style in both the character design and animation is still obvious since it’s what he’s famous for and most amateur animators often like to imitate.
@@hunterolaughlin
Story: 1/10.
Animation: 7/10.
Characters: 3/10. Good voice acting but bad characters.
Overall: 3/10.
I didn’t want Paramount Animation to become the Fleischer Studios. I wanted Paramount Animation to be a successful animation studio like the glory days of golden age animation.
Same. But I know one day they’ll become better than they are now.
Syndrome just called. He wants his robot back.
Darn. I was hoping we'd get a year without a seal of garbage. Oh well. Maybe next year.
2012 came pretty close, only one seal of garbage (one that didn't deserve it IMO).
Jake DeBruin Yeah, like I said, one or two is definitely possible, but none is a little unlikely
I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Minions 2 and Trolls 2 come out next year.
MegaSoulHero
Yeah I forgot about those....
But maybe...?
Honestly, this could’ve been a great film. But, after numerous production troubles, no credited director, and story that’s a mess, it just sealed its own doomed. The best thing I can say is the show is better be good otherwise Nickelodeon might be in trouble with their future.
Missing Link will be better
Is this the reason why Nickelodeon doesn’t make anymore animated movies based off of their Nicktoons shows? They could’ve had Rob Renzetti come back to make a full on MLAATR Movie
They were gonna do a Loud House Movie but that’s getting moved to Netflix
Michael McJunkin well I do think that’s a good choice considering the show has mixed results. Heck even I have mixed feelings on the show itself
Animation is actually amazing. Story is utterly transcendant and characters are spectacular, so 9/10. The only thing I didn't detect is the word "sus".
8:48 Hey Kevin from DefunctLand XD
Too bad... the premise of this movie actually sounded not that bad.
The girl looks like Penny from Bolt.
Evie Princess123 I thought the same too!!
missing link score prediction
story 9/10
animation 10/10
charatcters 8/10
score 9/10
My rating:
Story: 3/10
Animation: 5/10
Characters: 4/10
Final Score: 4/10 (Bad)
i really expected that her friend would go with her and help her grow more and act more like a kid
Alright Kevin come in, the movie's Defunct
Animat should review Barnyard (2006)
I belt Barnyard will get the Animat seal of garbage! Barnyard is my least favorite flim from Nickelodeon Movies.
Ana Gabriela Figueroa ikr, that movie copied Madagascar, and it was one of my favorite movies in my childhood.
He should review the first spongebob movie or the jimmy neutron movie, both are pretty good, spongebob movie is 10x better though.
@@jakedebruin2246 SPONGEBOB, SPONGEBOB, SPONGEBOB!😤 GRRRR! IS THAT THE ONLY NICKFLIM YOU GUYS CARE?? 😤
Ana Gabriela Figueroa what do you have against spongebob? The Spongebob movie and rango are legitimately the only two nickelodeon movies I would consider more then decent or just good.
My mom almost died from pancreatitis.
Because of how inconsistent the story is, I’m not surprised that this movie didn’t have a director!
Yeah, that's really sad. This is the first Nickelodeon movie to get the Animat seal of garbage.
Except we never got a TV series and it’s most likely cancelled as a result from both the production trouble and the poor box office numbers and critical reviews.
If u want a better Wonder Park, then Namco have u covered
This movie is also from Skydance by sadly former Pixar John Lassiter
Paramount Animation is the new Sony Pictures Animations?
That was quick
That blue bear looks like one of the charmin ultra bears
Wonder Park got bad reviews? That's sad...😢
By the way, where's Animation Lookback: Nickelodeon??
It doesn't come until about August or September.
just wait tv show and just play app game call Wonder Park Magic Rides
Alberto Herrera 2
Sherlock Gnolmes had those hand-drawn moments that Animat liked. That's part of why the animation got an 8 from him.
Same here. I give a 5/10 personally but the things that go on in the story towards the end are made people hate it.
He is so completely right about this movie it is depressing and mean spirited and is so similar to Epic Mickey
i love how imdb reviewers make this out to be one of the greatest movies of all time. But then again, imdb
Um, sorry to say, but it has a 5.3 out of 10.
What?
Peyton Michael I don't think much effort went in because they did shoe horn a lazy Instagram reference
“Maybe the Nickelodeon show will be better…”
Well, we’re never gonna find out now, because this movie was so bad and did so poorly financially it killed the series before it could even air!
The last “bad” Nickelodeon movie than The paw patrol came to save them from animation trash bins
It's really a shame... Everything looked new and fresh from the trailers, which is great in a market dominated by reboots, spinoffs, and sequels. In the end, I hope this means that there will still be attempts to make new IPs.
Still waiting for another movie with the Rango artstyle...
Yep. Saw that coming a mile away. It's a shame it looked like it had potential. But I knew it was gonna suck based on the trailers.
This is my prediction for the animated films this year *sigh* I hope he's nice to pets 2
5. WORST: Secret Life of Pets 2: 7/10
4. WORST: The Playmobil Movie: 6/10
3. WORST: The Angry Birds Movie 2; 5/10
2. WORST: Wonder Park: 4/10
1. WORST: Uglydolls: 3/10
HONOURABLE MENTIONS: The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part: 7/10
Adam's Family: 8/10
5. BEST: Shaun The Sheep The Movie: Farmaggedon: 8/10
4. BEST: Missing Link: 8/10
3. BEST: Toy Story 4: 9/10
2. BEST: How To Train Your Dragon The Hidden World
1. BEST: Frozen 2: 9/10
We're also getting a minions 2 next year which already has a plot.
