Did Steven ever mention if players swimming in the river will get a buff or debuff depending on the river speed (swimming down or up fast-moving water)? Just would be strange if it applies to the boat but not the raiders
In regards to low level master artisans. You could exploit that as a shield to ganking via being worth more corruption as a low level player, as opposed to a high level player being engaged by another high level player. So I'd argue that as a negative reason why artisan profession tiers should be limited by levels, or as another suggestion, have artisan level correlate with corruption gain, so a master artisan would only give as much corruption as killing a max level player even if they're low level, as to deter the possibility of an exploit.
