I’ve got a little over 80 hours in Iron Harvest, and it is a solid 9/10 for me. The 3 campaigns come together in a really satisfying outcome and the gameplay is really fun. If you like WW1 but think it was lacking in the giant robots, then I highly recommend you pick up this game
I would like to see a breakdown of the 3 factions. *Whatever sound you made* Also Dawn of War (especially Soulstorm and Dark Crusade) and Empire at War/ Forces of Corruption? I'm down for it
RTS campaigns are lowkey my favorite genre of game. Multiplayer in RTSs is daunting as hell (especially if you play a bunch of different games, like compare SC2 MP to AOE2 MP), the campaign progression with gaining units and tech is so satisfying. Think I’ll pick this one up!

*IN DEPTH REVIEW FROM SOMEONE WITH HUNDREDS OF HOURS* It's a GREAT game. The environment is almost entirely destructible, combat is quick but tactical, factions play differently but are very balanced. The voice acting is amazing, infantry/mech balance is perfect, buildable defenses actually work, the game itself is just beautiful. Best of all though is Multiplayer. It can be hard the first few times you play. But once you start getting good or playing with people at your skill level it's a blast. only 2 bad things about it are the story and the initial main character. The first character (you get 6) gets VERY annoying. after the fifth time of her reminding you how horrible of a person you are for fighting for Polania... eh. As for the story... Look if you're buying a strategy game for the campaign this one should be a pass honestly. Sorry but it's true. Regardless of what the dude said there is ZERO morally grey area. There are obvious good guys, obvious bad guys, and 2 good guys who go bad randomly and for no reason (not an exaggeration either. Random af and the dumbest reasons you can think of). Before you keep reading I'll say the multiplayer DOES make up for it, and very much so. Hell even the single player non campaign missions are awesome. Buy it, but DO NOT expect a good story. Despite what the vid says there is ZERO morally grey stuff in this game. (SPOILERS) so at the beginning you play a girl who's brother dies in a war and you have to fight the Rusviets with a pretty badass soldier guy to help a village of polanians and help free Polania. A few missions later you find out that it's the Illuminati (literally... just a different name. "Fenris") want to start WW2 and suddenly the totally smart soldier guy reveals that his amazing plan involved massacring a village of Polanians for no reason. Just promises it'll help somehow. Turns out the girls brother is alive and is a cyborg. Rusviets campaign: You play as the cyborg working for the Illuminati before the first campaign. Their justification for being the Illuminati and starting WW2? Insert generic "people can't control themselves" b.s. after this back to after first campaign you invade Tesla's (yes, THAT Tesla) little city state of electrical robot guys. Badass Saxonian Soldier stops them at last cutscene. Saxonian Campaign: THIS is what you WANTED to play. You are a badass soldier guy fighting in Dieselpunk WW1 playing as a guy who is essentially Otto von Bismarck fighting alongside the literal Kaiser Wilhelm the 2nd who is Proud, Naive, and Charismatic as ever :). You even get a cutscene with a Christmas truce :D. Unfortunately Kaiser Wilhelm goes Crazy and the 2nd of only 5 likeable characters massacres a bunch of prisoners because "they killed some of our guys". Fast forward and Otto von Bismarck guy and Wilhelm 1st are making ammends. Wilhelm 1 basically convinces Bismarck guy to give his son another chance... and then Wilhelm 2 immediately killed his father with the reason of... "he'll ruin the country" :/. Long story short you are Bismarck guy on the run and then blow up a Tesla death machine. Theres a speech about good people stopping bad people despite the fact that the Illuminati still has all the power and Kaiser 2 is crazy. Rusviet revolution mini DLC: you are trying to save the Russian tzar the entire time only for him to die at the end despite you having a literal army around him. Illuminati wins. ;( Honestly if they were to make wilhelm 2 realize his mistakes and be a good king, make the tzar somehow come back, make the annoying rebel girl shut up about how killing is wrong, and GIVE THE GOOD GUYS A WIN it can make up for it. But other than that last one I don't see that happening. 3/10 story. All that being said the game is AMAZING. I know the story sounds like it ruins it but trust me, buy it. You will be VERY surprised :)
I just finished the campaign and definitely agree that the Saxonian campaign is by far the best, but they are releasing a new dlc supposedly in Q2 of this year that will add a new faction and continue the campaign. So that might make up for some weak parts of the story hopefully. And historically Wilhelm the 2nd was considered kind of “crazy”, not sure if he was but that’s what historians claim, so since the game is an alternate history they kept that character trait of his.
@@vincilpowell4204 Speaking historically Wilhelm 2 wasn't really crazy. You gotta remember a lot of propaganda at the time. An ottoman would think Wilhelm was the best king around while a Russian would call him a warmonger. In reality his biggest issue was his inexperience with foreign politics. Not referring to the actual war, just in general. He was very brash. In game he's just... literally crazy :( I honestly hope this game sees a resurgence tho. Even if the story still sucks at the end. It's a GREAT game. Heck I'd even love to see a 2. I just think that its gonna be like Empire Total War where the game ends up a masterpiece but suffers solely because of its poor launch :(((
@@spiffygonzales5899 yeah it could definitely end up being that way, and it’s true he definitely was portrayed as crazy by much propaganda. I am very excited though to see what faction they implement because it’s based off a tabletop game which had an Ottoman Empire type faction and Albion which is the UK. It would be fun to see their perspective after the war. Also every month they do small updates and add new maps quite often. So, I hope since it gets regular updates it can keep a player base
Too expensive. Maybe when the game price is half that its now i consider buying it also having total war warhammer 3 in the corner and the last dlc or i find a job this year or its a no no

Ah yes, I’ve been looking into this game but wasn’t sure. Appreciate your contribution and love that intro
It would be incredible if you could do a review of the different factions and units!
Im not sure how to replicate that sound effect you just did but... yes, I'd love more content on this game
Reminds me of Company of Heroes games but seems more fun
peepee poopoo
But for real Colonel, I love your vids and can't wait to see more. Keep up the great work my guy!

The whole idea, mechs and story are based on the Jakub Rozalski art, the 1920+ series. It's really worth checking!
Love the game love to see more coverage of it
Have you explored the wiki and the Scythe board game?
Mh... Unit breakdown needed :D
I would like if you made a guide of the units in the factions
As a player of this game since the demo can conf, very mechy.
