Today’s video is all about, Diabetic Medications, including Types of Insulin, for Nursing Students and NCLEX Review.
Insulin is a hormone that plays an essential role in the body's ability to use glucose (blood sugar).
Knowing the types of insulin and how to administer them to diabetic patients can help avoid glucose building up in the blood, which can lead to high blood sugar levels or diabetic coma.
In addition to insulin, other diabetic medications are used to help manage diabetes and its symptoms. These include pills and injections for type 1 and type 2 diabetes, plus tablets for patients with type 2 diabetes.

Nurse Mike is the only reason I'm passing. I get out of lecture after 4.5 hours then immediately turn on Simplenursing smh
Ur school sucks then
Thank you Mike, its all your fault that I passed my boards. I remember I had two questions that came straight from your videos that I had watched two days before the exams. You Rock, simple nursing rocks!
Nurse Mike, thank you for all you do on here. I passed NCLEX on first attempt watching these videos. I’m an international nurse and I have been out of school for years. I truly appreciate you. And yes, I’d gladly post a testimonial to your page.

Nurse mike, you don't know how you mean to me, what I can just say is for God to add you more years to countinue helping Nurses on this forum. I passed my NCLEX after using your video in entire reviews
Hi nurse Mike.
Fist of all I would like to give God the glory for passing my nclex at 75 question. September 24, 2022.
Just wanted to share my joy with you and thank you and your team for all the wonderful job that you all do. I purchased Simple Nursing Nclex package and used that for months to study before taking my nclex. I graduated 2 years ago and was so nervous thinking that I was going to fail my nclex. Once again this was posible because God helped me, I did my part and God did the impossible. Now I am ready to serve God as a Registered Nurse. Thank you for all.
I'm doing a refresher course after not working for 7 years- Your concise and easy way to remember things is brilliant. You've helped me so much. Thank you!
Thank you for making this content free and accessible. I want to be the best nurse I can be to my patients but I don’t have the money for some other study tools.

where can I find the cheat sheet for printing ?
Question: So, we've dc'd mixing two insulins with one syringe and are using two syringes instead? Confused about the two syringes...graduated lpn school eight years ago and never took my boards!
You just never mix the long acting insulin with any other type of insulin. The only types of insulin that should be mixed are regular and intermediate. If you have to give a dose of long acting insulin and another type of insulin then you should use two different syringes.
Thank you keep up the good work

If the pump malfunctions do you assess the patient or machine first?
My thought process: Is the patient awake? Oh, wait... that's still assessing the patient haha
In our hospital we hold insulin if patient is for a procedure requiring NPO. Do you think this is right?
it depends on the patient
