I disabled the rev hang in my car with Hondata FlashPro tonight. Shifting with no rev hang is so much better. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I get mixed answers from a lot of people and wanted some knowledge first-hand, since I can't seem to find another Si owner around the area where I live who has a mod.
So you have Hondata Flashpro? Ive seen a lot of stuff on the forums and facebook groups of people blowing their engines with Hondata. A couple EX-Ts with Ktuner, too
Jen Plante depends on the state he’s in. I live in Missouri and here there is a law that makes the manufacturer have to prove that tuning the vehicle is what caused the issue.
Mamas Blastula I think that law is in every state, don’t mind my screen name, I had a 17 SI with ktuner on a vitviper file and work at a Honda dealership in Florida, every time there is a Type R on the shop Honda as to jump into the ECU even if it’s something non power train related, my co worker had a hondata flash when he was having problems with the rear wing and Honda wouldn’t cover the warranty without reading the Ecu, they did covered the warranty issue, however they might have flagged the Ecu for future power train claims, he traded the car for a Track Hawk and the car was sold in Texas. My car was sold as a certified car, but the customer traded for a pick up truck by necessity 6 months later, we dodged the bullet on that one 😅.
Becareful when and if you take it in for maintenance or drivetrain problem. My friend works at Stockton Honda and I asked about the flash and reflashing to stock. They will send your ecu to Honda’s engineers and they will know if the ecu has been flash thus voiding the warranty. Just a heads up boss man.

@@Camhill182 Well good news, as long as you stick to starter maps, you wont blow it up. That I know for sure. Ive done some extensive research regarding these tunes. The issue is that if you have any catastrophic failers like, transmission, or engine, then they will check for ecu/ecm resets. (The same thing happens when changing out the battery apparently.) These TSP tunes, I have not done any research on them at all. I plan on doing the Base/20.5psi or Base/23.5. I am most worried about killing my clutch though lol. I think ill wait until my first clutch burn out then tune. Lastly, the dealership them selves can't tell if its been tuned, the reason I used the word "catastrophic" is because they send a copy of the ECM which counts the resets and captures the perimeters of the engine. Example, things like the boost exceeding stock range, RPM exceeding stock range among other things. This is what you need to avoid when tuning from what I heard. I believe if you keep the PSI limit to factory, and rev limit the same, they won't truley be able to tell that its been tuned other than the resets. Hell maybe I want to un-plug the car battery every night, nothing in the book says I am not allowed to. Lol.
2nd car should be 08-10 SS? You can find one for a good price, if your lucky you can find a sedan possibly? I love my sedan and I know you wouldn't be disappointed. Downpipe map sensors and hp tune on E40 blend, running low 13 with a shitty 60ft
yea I do really like those cars, but my friend Sergio, who Ive had on the channel a few times, he has that car and is starting up a youtube channel with it this week, so I don't want to get in his way. There are plenty of other cars i can get that arent on youtube right now

I never really understood why rev hang has to be mandated on manual cars here. I know it’s done for emissions but so few manual cars are sold in America that I feel it wouldn’t make much of a difference anyway.
@@Camhill182 thank you. Another question as I'm green with these things. Is this modd something that you can easily remove where the car can be back to its original operation?

in my experience its been golden. I watch my knock count on my ktuner and never have any problems. I have a 19 si and I run 93 pump gas. I believe min u need 91. When I like to have fun with my car I always floor it about 3k rpm. Never go under that anytime tuned or not. Too much load on the engine.
@@Camhill182 also if you not driving crazy 24/7 ur clutch should be fine. I rarely rarely do hard launch on this car. Its fwd so traction is a pain but rolling launch its a blast. But never any issues yet *knocks on wood* . Oh BTW I'm stock just a tune. If you have engine mods then that is subject to change for u. Go to civicx.com . That's where I get alot of great info. Even a forum about everyone tuning experience and their set up. Hit me at ripcord291 there and I send you the forum link
Niice in getting this forsure!! It was funny i was thinking "man.. What if it falls on me with the sticky mount." Then it happend to you 😂😂
awsome, i wish i did this in my 9th gen k24 lol.. does this void warranty?
Yes it does
How much cost to make the ktune ? And how much HP you increase? Thansk
With the 23 psi, maybe 230whp, maybe a couple hp less
ive aways wanted to see an 8th gen vs 10th gen si stock for stock race...maybe that guy u hit up will be up for it?
Maybe. Ill try to set one up asap
10th gen will smoke the 8th , 10th is the fastest civic si to date
Yoo, where are you having cars and coffee at? We just went to cars and coffee this morning Lol.
I usually go to the one in Folsom Lake, California. Where do you go to?
@@Camhill182 Uhhh well, I am actually in Texas... so I guess we do the same thing lol.
We had it hosted at dunkin-donuts this morning. Its cool to know that this isn't just a local thing.
@@Camhill182 On the side note, I have been sitting on my K-tunerv2 for about 3 months now... since I got my car. I want to tune so bad.. but I keep hearing this noise like a throw out barring isn't seating correctly so tuning it could be an issue since my dealership is like that annoying nosey X girlfriend everyones had.
Rob y4h3ll well, i hear you. Im also paranoid that my engine is gonna blow up. I an going to get an oil change today after work and flashing my car back to stock and removing Ktuner before i get the oil change done. If something goes wrong, i’ll let it be the dealer’s fault
Lol.
Do you have to get your ecu unlocked before using?
No
Is this k tuner always have to be at the OBD2 plug?
No, it does not
2nd car should be 08-10 SS? You can find one for a good price, if your lucky you can find a sedan possibly? I love my sedan and I know you wouldn't be disappointed. Downpipe map sensors and hp tune on E40 blend, running low 13 with a shitty 60ft
yea I do really like those cars, but my friend Sergio, who Ive had on the channel a few times, he has that car and is starting up a youtube channel with it this week, so I don't want to get in his way. There are plenty of other cars i can get that arent on youtube right now
What mount do you have? I'm planning on getting a ktuner soon too 😅
Its the one thats recommended by ktuner on their website
Cameron Hill Thanks bro!
kinda weird question but, what do you use to edit your videos? lol
Sour Wower not weird at all my friend. I use Final Cut Pro X
Cameron Hill okay thanks lol I have an si and I want to start a channel.
Sour Wower do it!
Have you ever driven a type R? They have the Rev match on down shifts and it is awesome. Well everything about the type R is awesome lol
looks like a pokemon tho.. sigh. that spoiler is ..
I have not driven one yet. I hope to soon!
@@Camhill182 my father-in-law has one and it is hands down the most awesome car I've ever driven. Just a blast to drive. I know if I owned one I would lose my license. It just wants to go fast.
Same here my friend
You know I bought my 2015 si used..only 37k mileage and it was totally stock but it has no rev hang🤔 either I’m lucky or it has a tune from the previous owner (doubt it)! And I can shift fast and spin thru 2nd gear with the mods I’ve done so far👍👍
C Stephenson bruhh, different gen , different motor 😂
Sarith Loeung yeah but my 8th gen has it bad is my point😩
I never really understood why rev hang has to be mandated on manual cars here. I know it’s done for emissions but so few manual cars are sold in America that I feel it wouldn’t make much of a difference anyway.
Yea, just regulations being regulations i guess. It sucks
Why doesnt everyone get just an Ecoboost Mustang or Audi S3
I can feel a huge difference that's what she said lol
Do you have to keep the kTunner on?
No, not for the basemaps. For TSP Stage 1, yes you do
Where did you guys buy this
Phearable.net
Any worries about your warranty?
Yes, I had a misfire the other day after i recorded this video. I talk about it and my concerns with this car in my next video ill upload Tuesday
the rev hang delete tho omg
If I'm leasing does this mod effect my lease when I give it back??
Um, thats a good question. As long as you dont blow the engine, i think you’re good
@@Camhill182 thank you. Another question as I'm green with these things. Is this modd something that you can easily remove where the car can be back to its original operation?
MrTurbografix 16 yes, you can very easily return the car to stock and unlock the Ktuner from your car
@@Camhill182 thank you brother,. Keep posting I enjoy your channel ✌️👌
Got my lime green 18 si thinking about doing this to eliminate revhang
I am not fucking around with Hondata or Ktuner because that shit will mess with my car. Car is good for what is supposed to and it will last me longer. I'd rather get a Type-R than void the warranty of my SI.
🔥🔥🔥
Get e85 kit and you’ll gain around 50+ HP and Torqe.
Automatic rev matching is called an automatic transmission
Just got one simple question ... What the hell is a KTuner ?
Its that touch screen thing that i was tinkering with at the start if the video
@@Camhill182 yeah I know that but what does it do ? What is it for ?
Dante FJ it adds more boost to the car and makes it faster. It also deletes th le rev hang which makes it better to drive
How is the 0-60?
I havent tried it. Ill definitely blow out my clutch if i try it right now
Carfacts id like to see that video
Running 91 octane?
Yes!
What is fuck up a CVT?
I hate the rev hang in mine as well
🙏🏻
Is the car starting to grow on you a bit more?
yea, it is, but its still not a keeper. once i figure out what im going to do with my channel, ill get rid of it.
Hmmmm🤔 and get a type r cameron😈👍
Or another 9th gen👍👍👍
@@Camhill182 keep it bro there are so many more mods to be done you could even go all the way up to 600+ hp like the MAPerformance guys!
@@Camhill182 check this out th-cam.com/video/r9sDZxDTqC8/w-d-xo.html plus this car looks better than a type r for sure! 🔥 🔥 🔥
Does it disable revhang automatically when setup or do you need to change some things on the ktuner?
Yup! When you select 19.5/23 psi basemap, you just load it into the ktuner and good to go. The basemap has a bunch of options selected and deselected so no rev hang
The 2015 si had stupid rev hang too. Get a type r
What have you done to your car, what can I do to make my 20’ SI better?
Nothing, i would do it the exact same way again if i had to
Sweet you got the ktuner so sick been waiting for this one. It looks great where you mounted it keep it there so we can see it. Check out this mod I think this would be fun to see as you drive th-cam.com/video/2sHGouO2phQ/w-d-xo.html
This is a steering wheel mod!
She just saying that to hype you up
i have a stock 2020 si and i shit on worked stis. SI gang
DAMN DUDE YOUR CAR FUCKS! Also Gabby says Viv is hot.
miss you man. when am I getting a wedding invite?
Cameron Hill Soon my brotha! Engagement party for family is in June and shooting for May of next year for the wedding!
Bishop hey! Sunofabitch!! Vivian and I are shooting for June/July for OUR wedding next year!
Cameron Hill WHHHAAATTTTT?! THIS is how you tell me?!?!
Start saving up for a clutch replacement. Honda failed big time on the stock clutch on these cars and it will fail prematurely, even in stock form.
copy
Get yourself a girl who will pretend to like your car shenanigans aren’t you lucky 🍀 maybe one day I’ll find one of my own
disable VSA completely
Good point
Cameron Hill yeeesss try it all the time with VSA disable for better traction
@@jorgedejesus1146 oh I know. I usually take it off completely. just forgot
I've been trying to tell you this... you kept waiting and waiting and waiting... lol. I'll bet your reconsidering the Type R now?
Eh, I definitely will get rid of the si sometime within the next 6 months, its just a matter of what I choose to get
Get an fk8 brotha
That si garbaguccine
im thinking about it. I need to make sure I can still get views on my videos if i get that car though
There’s some other TH-camr who has a 2019 Nissan GT-R and just got a 2019 type r and he said for some reason he’s getting more views on the type r videos. Also I drive a CTR and watch your videos so I’m pretty sure people just watch cuz you make good content bro 👍🏽
Thanks for the tip my man. Im gonna call around about the 2020 R
Should have bought hondata

Cameron Hill next modifications on your car after ktuner and tsp stage1?
