My favorite song of all time. Time stood still (still does) and I must have played it 15 times in a row when I first played that album through at 2 AM back in late '94. A timeless classic that just floats.
The whole "Amorica" album is just brilliant. I heard it by accident and bought it on the spot. Never heard any other black crowes, and I'm really a funk / Hip Hop guy, but you cant front on quality music 🖤
The previous album is fairly funky too. And the next one has a few funk/soul moments. They have a disco rock song called I Ain't Hidin' that's awesome too
You must like P.25 London. One of the songs I've really disliked in their catalog. Had potential. If you're even halkf curious, check out Lost Crowes. Two tasty unreleased albums one from 1993 and another from 1997 with more gems.
That is a dulcimer that Rich Robinson is playing the slide on. A dulcimer is an old Appalachian lap type guitar type string instrument, not usually seen outside of bluegrass.
Bad Luck Blue Eyes Goodbye is the best song I’ve ever heard! Needs to be done. Other than Aretha doing Amazing Grace in 1972 well before I was born, BLBE is the vibe. Check it out
I saw them on their first tour 30 years ago with the "Shake Your Moneymaker" album. My ears rang for 3 days after. The were so good, but so friggin' loud. They played in our outdoor arena this time around.
Love this song..like a sunny fall afternoon smell of bonefire. cold brew in hand and some fine pine marijuana. leaves falling changing colors. wildlife around in the forest around you. cooking burgers and sausages. THEN YOU PLAY ALL THE OTHER SONGS OFF THIS AWESOME ALBUM.🌭🌭🌭🍔🍔🍔🍺🍺🍻😁😁🥰😀🖖🖖🛸👽👽🛸🚬🚬✌✌🍄🍄Fine Pine Marijuana 🌲🌲🌲🌲😁🥰🥰🥰
Amorica is such an underrated album. I always get to the end of it and forget about this song until it comes on. It definitely speaks to my own depression. Cursed Diamond is amazing as well
What the fuck!? How did I miss ya’ll doing this. I’m not from Georgia but it will always be my second home because of the Crowes and Allman Brothers! This is love
Thank you so much for your reactions to the Black Crowes! I've been a fan since they came out and feel like they are often overlooked. I would love to see your reaction to "Cursed Diamond", "Seeing Things for the First Time", "Sometimes Salvation", or "Bad Luck Blue Eyes Goodbye"...Preferably all of them! 😄
My favorite band of the 90s. They blend country blues, blues rock, rhythm and blues, and gospel together. They take cues from the Rolling Stones, The Faces with Rod Stewart, Humble Pie, and a little Led Zep and Nick Drake.
I took a black gf to a Crowes show and she was like"Why are you taking me to a sho of white people music?" I said, Give it something. It's got more soul than the average hiphop LP. She laughed at me. We haven't dated in aged but she still trades BC bootlegs with me and we still love each other over the music.
Black Crowes were a phenomenal band. Too bad in-fighting led to their demise. BUT - they left us with an incredible catalogue of music. So much for you to explore with this band. Literally every song on their first two albums are gems. After that, you will still get multiple classics on each album. They have amazing rockers, but for more soulful songs like this one, I’d suggest Oh Josephine and Seeing Things for the First Time.
Ya know musicians already know… it’s an illusion that we are all different. Black and white or whatever… we are the same. We MUST be the same, how can we be different? Skin? Come on… What black people have right, and what white people have right right and what Asians and native Americans and middle eastern people have right is the same! It’s “god” if you want to call it that… it’s the very essence of our souls we are one spirit. It’s what we all have fucked up that’s different! And that’s just bullshit anyway… Close your eyes and feel the spirit. It’s one heart beat of love… just go color blind, nationality blind… close your eyes. What does your soul feel? One heart beat… We need to wake up and stop the silliness and just make this world what it’s meant to be. We are beautiful, every damn one of us is beautiful…
On of my favorite tunes from them!!! The Robinson brothers are true masters.. My wife and I are going to see them next month, and I pray they do this one. Excellent choice!!
That's the great Marc Ford on lead/slide guitar. It's a dobro actually. Eddie and Marc changed how that band sounded and how they could be able to sound. That simple.
For me their initial version of this song is better. This one is the version from Amorica. They recorded it before that and scrapped it however years later the initial version was released on the Lost Crowes double CD. That version has great background gospel style vocals.
One of my absolute favorite songs by them...when we got a divorce, we argued over who got this disc bc of THIS song. I got this one & she got a Pete Yorn CD. Wonderful song that still gets me almost 30 years later
Finally, someone did some real Black Crows. This band is so much more than the radio play songs 🤘🤘
Yes!! Fucking FINALLY!!
Yes, they have whole albums like Warpaint that most people have never heard of.
@@michaeljensen6732 No Marc Ford or Eddie Harsch. One of their worst and a huge let down as a supposed comeback album. Nice album cover, though.
This entire album was great including the cover. Your correct the Radio missed a lot of really good songs from them.
YUP
My favorite song of all time. Time stood still (still does) and I must have played it 15 times in a row when I first played that album through at 2 AM back in late '94. A timeless classic that just floats.
Everyone fucking support this! The real ones. We need literally all of Southern Harmony and Musical Companion on here!
The most beautiful piano outro you'll ever find. RIP Eddie Harsch
I feel the same way about that outro, but I haven't heard anyone else say it until today.
The late great Eddie Harsch on piano. He is greatly missed!
IMO this is the greatest band to come out of the 90’s they understood what rock is really about✌️
💯
Greatest band ever
Absolutely. From '92-'97, they couldn't be touched in terms of song output and on stage. Brilliant musicianship.
Bad luck blue eyes and remedy. The entire Southern Harmony and Music Companion album is a piece of art.
the first 4 albums are special I do really enjoy by your side and lions is OK buy the first four are great
The whole "Amorica" album is just brilliant. I heard it by accident and bought it on the spot. Never heard any other black crowes, and I'm really a funk / Hip Hop guy, but you cant front on quality music 🖤
You've got to listen to their other stuff
My favorite …
The previous album is fairly funky too. And the next one has a few funk/soul moments. They have a disco rock song called I Ain't Hidin' that's awesome too

Bad Luck Blue Eye Goodbye, by the Black Crowes is a personal favorite.
I always liked this song. Amorica is a great album.
As a long time fan - one of their greatest songs. Thanks for doing this one. A lot of casual fans have never even heard this. A+++
That is a dulcimer that Rich Robinson is playing the slide on. A dulcimer is an old Appalachian lap type guitar type string instrument, not usually seen outside of bluegrass.
The entire album is a fucking masterpiece
Sometimes Salvation is a great listen. To me it’s The Black Crowes at their peak.
Yes! This
My favorite tune on and off for many years. Top ten ever in my book. Bless y'all.
Asia & BJ, you'll like their "Jealous Again" and "She Talks to Angels"! Nice stream!
Twice As Hard 👍
Bad Luck Blue Eyes Goodbye is the best song I’ve ever heard! Needs to be done. Other than Aretha doing Amazing Grace in 1972 well before I was born, BLBE is the vibe. Check it out
Wiser time is the next song on the album and is just as good if not better
Wiser Time is definitely my favorite Black Crowes tune of all time. Criminally underrated and under-played.
Descending is the last song on the album.
If you can see them live it's fantastic one of my favorites so enjoy the rabbit hole. Southern rock, gospel, funk.
I saw them on their first tour 30 years ago with the "Shake Your Moneymaker" album. My ears rang for 3 days after. The were so good, but so friggin' loud. They played in our outdoor arena this time around.

The late great Eddie Harsch on piano here. RIP

Black Crowes are nasty, yo!!!! They have a lot of bluesy tunes
Oh one of my all time favorite songs by The Crowes. Love it

Black Crowes is my Gospel Music.
This is a deep cut song. So impressed you checked this one out. Amorica is a masterpiece.
The Crowes are simply the best.. Rock n Roll’s rock n roll band..
This is the song that I want played when they put me in the ground
One of the best songs ever written!!!
Great band, great flavor in their music...
Looking forward to seeing them live in a few weeks, July 6th to be exact.
I took a black gf to a Crowes show and she was like"Why are you taking me to a sho of white people music?" I said, Give it something. It's got more soul than the average hiphop LP. She laughed at me. We haven't dated in aged but she still trades BC bootlegs with me and we still love each other over the music.
One of my favorite songs, bc forever
Feast for fools, when you can’t shake that break up feeling. Very relatable, beautiful song.
Chris Robinson was the male Janis Joplin.
It is a song you travel with...beautifully said...
I love the songs you guys are picking for the Black Crowes keep them coming.✌🏻❤️
One of my favorite albums and great song ✌️

" By Your Side " album is phenomenal also, from start to finish

Thank you so much!!
You have to listen to 'She talks to angels' it's such a powerful song.
Listen, the best The Black Crowes song. Best outro of all time. Preach. Subbed. Thanx.
Never heard this one before, thank you. Try She talks to Angels, Hard to handle, or remedy. Awesome reaction guys
Great song. The piano at the end is just!,!!!!!!!!!
That's the great Marc Ford on lead/slide guitar. It's a dobro actually. Eddie and Marc changed how that band sounded and how they could be able to sound. That simple.

Bye Eddie, I'll treasure this forever.
Beautiful song, awesome reaction, now you should try solo Chris Robinson, Barefoot by the cherry tree!
For me their initial version of this song is better. This one is the version from Amorica. They recorded it before that and scrapped it however years later the initial version was released on the Lost Crowes double CD. That version has great background gospel style vocals.
Great pick! U guys would like Remedy by them also 👌
Great job you guys try listening to Wiser Times or Sometimes Salvation they will blow u away
If the song continued another 20 minutes from 4:45 that would be just fine 🙂♥️
The live version (check out versions from 1995-1997 in particular) draws out a bit and then comes back with the Eddie piano outro.
Another Banger!
💜
If you are from the South you have to love them by default.
I love it😍
