The song flopped on the charts worldwide because it was very underwhelming. If it weren't for their names everyone would call it trash because this isn't good music at all.
Nobody dances like her today, and I don't mean just her dance ability alone. Her charisma, her posture, the choreography that she makes look very easy to do even though it involves more than just hair flips and finger flicks, etc. She's really a once in a generation talent. Also, this video is so fun!
Currently reading Britney's book came here to watch this music video cuz it's been decades and she said this is her proudest work. I can see that now. She had the same energy JT had and did it fucking better. They didn't want her to go in that direction but she ate left. No scraps. I agree. I’m not a fan of this song and every one really ragged on it at the time. I didn’t even really here on the radio. But it’s cool it’s really that they both collaborated. I think this would have been way bigger post 2007 (Blackout and Confessions). I think that tempo of the beats were alittle bit slower than what I was used to hearing from Madonna and Brittney.

It’s 40 million now, but that doesn’t really matter. This song was HUGE when it came out, it was a #1 hit in like 10 countries, much more than some other songs, for example everytime has 136 million views but it did worse (not by much but still worse) than matm, so there is def something else going on. for some reason it just isn’t as remembered (a live performance with Madonna probably would’ve helped). I personally love the song but I understand why some people have mixed feelings about it, it’s not your average super catchy pop song like toxic, but it was still a hit nonetheless🤷♂️

I remember, back then in Ukraine where I lived with my family, it was very difficult to catch a Britney song on TV once in a while, and we obviously had no internet. So I would stay up all night long waiting for her music on MTV, it was a celebration everytime she was on.Later, where I could actually buy the CD, I was the happiest teenager in the universe. oh, you poor sweet lost soul. one day when you're older, you'll discover a wide variety of music from the 1970's and will later cringe that you ever felt the 90's had some of the finest music. singers and bands back in the 70's didn't reply on cheesy dancing and overly hyped and produced music set to fit images. images that managers concocted and then sold like sliced bread to the starving. and turned young girls into hyper sexualized lolitas to make profits and gain attraction rather than relying on the 'talent'. plus, bands back in the 70's actually wrote their very own music, they didn't lip synch either or use half naked backup dancers. they weren't selling images or products. just amazing music from exceptionally talented people who could make fans go wild on being themselves and love, embrace and appreciate every single second of the beauty in that. from hard to soft rock, soul to funk, wild to relaxing, there was something for everyone and very few of those bands or singers ever had to compromise their vision. or themselves.
