Ryan, as a lurker just want to say that if you do ever need to jump ship to any other game we will all still watch you. You're enthusiasm and great attitude is what makes you a great watch.

I actually have major respect for you as well for posting a video like this. I think everyone was just wondering what the outcome for all the RS3 content creators would be and if they would take the same approach as Wazzy/ Maikeru / Parally Etc and the fact that you're still sticking to what you love and have created for the last 10 years is truly a great thing to hear. I think yes RS3 is in this negative light, especially with the Hero pass coming out and that is not helping, but they have shown more communication than I have ever seen in rectifying this situation and they've been in this situation many times before. It's not something they're not used to, as sad as it is, but they will fix it. It's like anything else in this world. Everything is a learning situation, but if there's a problem, do you run from it or do you try and help them fix the problem and help them succeed? The fact you're taking the 2nd approach is what everyone wants. At the end of the day, nobody wants to see this community fail. I have faith they'll restore what they lost.

@@FluidityFPV We're here once again because a bad update was released. They don't look at it the way a player would look at it or maybe they do heck i'm not a mind reader when it comes to Jagex. I mean, clearly they thought it was good and something to release and wouldn't receive as much backlash as they did, but once again, they are "learning" from it and modifying it in a way that wouldn't be so predatory. You can't release an update and make everyone happy. It's just not the way the world works an update is either going to make people happy or it's not it's as simple as that.

Completely understand your PoV, honestly I am happy to watch you do whatever so long as you are having fun, whether that is to stick to rs3 or to branch out at some point down the line. Just hope that you won't refrain from trying other things if they look like you might enjoy them because you are afraid you'll lose your audience, just as rs3 is the canvas on which you have created your content rs3 is the window through which we got the chance to get to know you, but that doesn't mean it's the only window we'd be willing to watch you through or the only canvas that you can create things on. :)
At the end of the day everyone needs to do what is best for themselves and I completely get that if someone gets burnt out making videos about a game they aren't enjoying it will have an impact on the quality of the content they produce so it is healthy for them to try other things. And equally in your case, you are still enjoying yourself and so long as that is the case there is no need to take a break or do something else.

So first off, massive props to such a sincere and honest video, I think this is really unique about you. One aspect in which I have a different opinion than you concerns you not signing of on what the game and company is doing yet continuing to play. I personally feel that whilst everyone continuously states that loot boxes, gambling and other predatory microtransactions are that extremely bad, it seems a bit strange to then continue to play the game regardless of it. Of course this is your career and you cannot just end it, I respect and understand that, however I did feel like moving to OSRS for a bit, or branching out would have been at least somewhat of a response to recent changes. Now it seems like despite recent changes taking a turn for the worst, there's not really anything you change here.
Either way, these are my two cents, all in all you are a great person and I hope you'll be successful in what you continue to do!

As a "newer" watcher of your videos and streams, I can say that I didn't realize your goal to bring up RS3 players to endgame content, specifically bossing. I'm sure that intent kind of just got mixed up in the videos or maybe it's me not seeing the bigger picture, but this video definitely brought that intent to light. Thank you for being a beacon of hope for the players who don't want or feel like they have to jump ship and want to keep playing RS3 and have fun enjoying the game so many of us enjoy.
Also, thank you for remaining positive, even in this time of hardship for the game. I don't think being positive makes us naive (I'm the same way!). Runescape needs to look at the range of ages of the players. Just an idea that for the senior players it isn't always ideal the timing within quests can be achieved. Don't tell me not to play the game but how about helping with options to slow or speed some time affected scenes so we can finish the quest reasonably. I hope I explained this good enough.

Hey Ryan, I don't usually comment on videos or anything like that but I just had to on this video.
I have played runescape since I was 9 years old. This is almost over 20 years at this point. I maxed my main, made a ton of GP, and got bored and eventually made an Ironman. I have now maxed my ironman at this point and am getting into the later game pvm, and runescape has ALWAYS been my favorite game. I always come back, no matter what. No matter how many breaks I take, no matter the *bad* content releases, I always have that urge to come back.
I've also played a ton of oldschool. Allthough i'm not maxed, I at least have around base 90's (I know, nothing too impressive) and haven't played in many, many years. But I have to say... Even with all of this being said, I have to agree with how you are feeling.
These days I am getting tired. Tired of the bad decisions that jagex seems to always make. I remember back in the day when free trade was removed, and how so many people quit. Basically all of my friends that played runescape at the time. Not me. I continued to play, and my friends eventually came back, but the same cycle seemed to repeat itself. Some kind of controversial update comes out, and a ton of people quit. Some for good.
I have to admit... This time with the hero pass, it's bad. Really bad. Never has an update rubbed me quite this way. I get that they are trying to make it better, but I think it may be too late for that. I love RS3, it is still my favorite game. And MTX does not really effect me that much since I exclusively play my ironman at this point. But I can not quite shake the feeling that this can be a step towards the end of RS3. I really hope that it is not, and that Jagex can do something to make it better, but I fear for the future of the game.
    I will play RS3 until the day that the last server is shut down. But at this point, I feel like it is coming sooner rather than later ;-;

I am not a creator, but I've considered how I want to handle the situation as a regular player. For me, Rs3 is a game that I've always treated like a side-game. I play it when I can, but I personally enjoy the nostalgia of it. Necromancy was a cool update, and for those players that are complaining about it making things easy, sure, it's easy once you know how to use it at different bosses. But there are plenty of people who are still learning how to PVM with it. I've enjoyed trying ED's because of the Thok event and am working towards trying HM Zuk (btw, your video on this has been studied 2-3 times). Before the Thok event, I had actually started working on setting myself up to work towards the comp cape with the focus on clue scrolls. My points with this, is that every game has it's ups and downs. If you don't like the current path, you are welcome to try a different game. It is the natural order of things. However, there are SO MANY alternate things you can do to keep the game fresh. Anyways, just my two cents for whatever it may be worth. I think Rs3 is trying, but they are being controlled & limited by management; a situation which I as a software engineer can completely understand and relate too.

As a creator for Wargaming games, believe me when I say, Jagex MTX is chill af. However, it’s good that people complain, and it’s truly impressive that it got to the point that Jagex is apparently listening. Play whatever you want, both games are great in their own right, and see them for what they truly are, perhaps some of the last mmorpg games that are truly worth playing.
I think top PVMers from rs3 will get bored in OSRS eventually, the difficulty and skill cap difference is just absurd.

Been watching your videos way back in the days, and that was when I was playing the game. The biggest thing that turned me away from the game wasn't the gold buying, wasn't the new skills, but the community, every time I ask for information, i get trolled or pushed away, or just "Git Gud". So I was running solo for a LONG time, when I wanted to try and join a community, there is always a "skill" lvl that bars people from learning, and that was back when Yakumaru was new. When you bar new players from learning you're cutting off the new generation of gamers that helps a game grow. And for me, that was the last straw.

I don't see all of them leaving full time to osrs. Maikeru has mentioned that he'll be back for new bosses, and Wazzy just got ifb and golden reaper on his iron, so a break seems natural there. Time will tell though.

I was a trimmed comp veteran that switched to OSRS in the beginning of the year, the game felt less and less like the game i loved.
I came back to try out necromancy and it felt unfinished right of the bat and that didn't make my feeling about rs3 any better.
Hero pass was the last drop in the bucket for me, the game i adored didn't have that feeling anymore and now I'm trying to fill that void with osrs.

Hey mate, I hope everything works out. Although i would like to say i truly don't think the hero pass is as big of a contributor to people leaving as it is being made out, I believe its a cop out because nobody wants to admit that necromancy has killed the game. Leaving to old school isn't sending a message, its still jagexs game, they still get their money from you regardless of which game you play. Now I'm an ironman and the reason I say this is because I heard amongst nearly all of the player base I play with that they were burnt out before the hero pass was even spoke about. I believe this to be because necromancy has, as you said made things too easy. Without skill checks in place no items in the game hold value anymore. With the exception of Rasials items, everything else is basically a downgrade from the tier 90 necromancy gear. Before necro getting tier 90 gear, especially on an ironman was one of the best things you could do and the grind for it was what made it so satisfying. Runescape is one of those games where you need the carrot dangling all the time, that's what keeps players invested, necromancy has completely taken that away. Without having to much of a crack at you and youre fellow content creators, i think some of the responsibility falls on you guys who play tested over in England. No doubt you could tell it was over the top and would make the other combat styles completely redundant. Obviously jagex still would have made there own decision but I do think you guys should have made content at the start pushing for a hard no, or at least say its not ready. The problem with coming out and saying necro is overpowered now is that the damage is already done and you guy's would cop a lot of backlash as people would simply say "well you knew this during testing". However I do have a lot of respect for you staying on Runescape 3 and seeing it through as the other guys who play tested have just abandoned the ship on the game we all love which is extremely disappointing to see so I appreciate and commend you for that. Hopefully RS3 can come back from this, and I hope you still can support yourself through RS3 content.
    All the best Mate

@@thefatpakyak2826 because you cannot play one without wasting time on the other, you stop your progress, if you could be able to literally play both games at the same time I would play both, I could afk a skill like mining or fishing while Pvming in one, but you can’t. So you have to choose one at the end of the day. I like both but I’m more interested in improving my main RS3 account. And in Osrs you have to start all over again, if I could have the same levels I have in RS3 I probably would play osrs.

i think one of the big reason why OSRS is more fun than RS3 is because the OSRS gameplay mechanics forces you to socialize with other players (like if you want the fighter torso or full void), you HAVE to find a team, talk to them and agree on things, same for raid bosses (which are way less toxic than the RS3 equivalent), also trade between players is still very common as a lot of people don't rely on the GE for some reason.
and another reason is Runelite, it's so much better than the basic clients we have...

The last few years i've strayed from your videos, not because i dislike your content, or question your sincerity. I thought "Oh here we go.. Another content creator jumping ship and following the crowd" but you've proved me wrong, and im so happy you did. Amongst all the chaos of a returning player, seeing my oldest and most fondest memories being dragged through the mud is soul-wretching to see, but you're demonstating strength in persistence. Hopefully shining the light on this dim tunnel of Runescape history, that we're so desperate to see.
The amount of time invested into this game by other content creators is no small feat, which shouldn't be understated, but jumping to Old School, isn't going to help the cause that you're conveying. Like many others who've watched this, I commend you for this video. You're standing strong and being the beacon of hope we, the viewer, are desperately needing. The more we see leaving this game, the closer we may come to its end. Which isnt a thought worth bearing.
I wish you all the best, you've gained a subscriber and my support in our fight to keep the game we love going. Hopefully this will encourage Jagex to take ownership of their wrongs and set them right.

I'm an osrs player that has peaked interest into rs3 a few times but can never make the change myself. Honestly if I were in your position I would play the card that could do everything you need it to do. Make content on both games and before you think "I don't have the time for 2 games." Osrs is one of the most afk and filled with content you can do while playing rs3. Doing this would not only attract Osrs audience to you meaning you gain more but It would also bring your rs3 content to Osrs players giving it the chance it needs to grow.

As someone who hasn't played RS in a long while, your content has been very helpful getting back in the groove. From getting into bossing, to setting up my hud and off-centering my game, to enjoying your reviewing of parts of the game or just fun videos. I appreciate that you've made that continuous decision over the time you started.
From what I understand, there are many things in rs3 that are hard to not notice, but that doesn't mean that the fundamentals of the game aren't bad. Combat is (mostly) in the right direction, and it's enjoyable, and the community is very helpful and friendly. Sticking to a game even when some see that it is in its dark times just shows how passionate you are for the game. I hope soon enough that the tunnel will lead to light.
    Thanks again for being there

Honestly for me personally, I'm burnt out and have been for a long time on it. Everytime I see new content on Rs3, the feeling of having to try and keep up with daily tasks, going for skill levels that are so vastly more grindy than base 99s and getting lambasted in both free things (demotivates achievements when no effort can do it too) and MTX (constantly predatory nonsense) completely takes me out of the experience. In comparison, when I see Old School RuneScape talking about genuine content, consulting exclusively with its community, no MTX and an actual seemingly bright future, it seems like night and day to me. I genuinely can't fathom how a company can exist that seems to have some polar opposite visions. Imagine if the development cycle and expectations that OSRS gets came to RS3, it would probably actually inspire people to play. I'm still probably only going to play the League, as life gets in the way of grinding too much now, but if I had to recommend or play one game in my limited time, it just can't be RS3 any more.
I'll like watching videos, but I also have an understanding of the basic game, the difference between something like Settled explaining everything and the nightmare of 300 menus open on RS3 is absolutely a turn off for new viewers too. Apart from your videos and the occasional Sick Nerd or A Friend returning, I just don't get any enjoyment out of this game, and I hate that that's the case, but I'm not particularly saddened by it.

The Hero Pass is the only time I've been genuinely disappointed with Jagex, and if it wasn't for the fact that I'm not bumrushing Necromancy and taking things at my own pace, I'd probably be looking for a new game to play for a bit until RS3 gets some actual new content.

I appreciate the loyalty to rs3 I've spent thousands of hours loving the game too but it's dieing and nothing new will revive it to be big. Old school has the dmms and the leagues and a plethora of untapped content for rs3 gamers and creators. You could spend thousands of hours trying out all the new bosses and game content and never run out. You are not naive for sticking with your heart and I hope it goes well for you but in comparison it's tough. The problem with rs3 is that all the content they come out with is only targeted for higher level/more experienced players where you basically need to be maxed for. Lower/mid-high level players get left behind trying to catch up and then everything is wayyy to expensive for mid tier players to catch up. Also bonds are 80M so there’s that.
