Being an insectoid species do they really have a nervous system the flood could use? If it was to different from a humanoid they might not be able to easily infect them? Just have me thinking now lol
Seeing as the Hunters see “immunity” due to their ability to form their own little hiveminds, I always presumed the Drones were the same. Maybe there’s something about hiveminds that cancel each other out. Or it could simply be that Drones are too fragile to make good combat forms. That’s my theory
I think because of their endoskeleton and lack of calcium reserves make them less suited for combat forms, but they could be killed and added as biomass for a developing gravemind.
I’m sort of conflicted when it comes to adding back the Drones to the Banished in future halo games. On one hand, it’s an obviously good thing to bring back the Yanme’e, but at the same time, I kind of feel like it would also make sense to use the new Skimmers as the Banished’s new airborne horde-type character.
I see that, but the skimmers just don't feel the same. They don't move much, use stronger weapons, and are in smaller groups. I don't like the skimmers much, but I could see them both being in the same game. *Had to change Skirmishers to Skimmers.
a yanme'e hive that the banished are trying to take over would fit well, a nice 3 way fight over some relic for plot reasons would be a nice mission conceptually, dunno about it in practice tho
I would be interested in how they would react to the banished. Would they join or would they fight them? It doesn't seem like they would be wanting or willing to join.
The mythos series is finished and has been edited into a single 4 hour supercut video. You do realize that series on this channel was an adaptation of a 2016 book and so doesn’t contain any newer halo lore than 2016?
Wish we saw more of these guys throughout the halo games. Having a flying covenant enemy that isn’t a vehicle is an interesting mix up for encounters
personally I think we saw them enough, if we saw more they would become rather irritating, everything in moderation
Hated these things.... _passionately_
Couldn’t agree more my friend
I second that
Ah yes, one of the most hated and cancerous things in all of video games:
Flying Enemies
Hated them in reach more then halo 3
Other than in Reach, I like them. I also never played on legendary, though.
Opened youtube right as I sat on the toilet and this dropped 4 seconds ago, nice timing.
What were you doing?
@@ThommyofThenn Isn't that personal?

@TonerLow classic #2
I miss these buggers so much! I loved their design and the chaos they inflict on the battle field!
I miss the Yanme I think the Yanme in Halo 3 were the best.
I wonder why we never saw these things in flood form? How horrific that would have been.
That's a pretty intriguing question indeed🤔. And a pretty horrifying one at that lol😅😂.
The flood would see them as minor annoyances like sentinels instead of potential minds and biomass to add to it's collection.

I always liked fighting these guys, although they were a pain on legendary, I really hope we get to see them return in the next game that comes out
Somehow these guys scared me more as a kid than the flood did
The Yanme'e are criminally underrated. They need to bring them back.
I miss fighting these guys. Sneaking the AA wraith into the fight with these guys in h3 was a highlight for me
So happy to see another one of these videos! 🎉
"Buggers coming over the roof!"
Fun video. I always hated these things in game. I see why the Covenant saw great value in them.
Buggers! Coming in through the video!
This is the first time I’ve learned so much about the “buggers”. I really enjoyed this video 😎👍🏽
I haven't seen any of your videos yet and this is really cool.❤😊
These things are still the best aim trainers in the series

Isn't it Yanme'e?
You are correct...
One the most unique covenant unis.
Firing up Halo Wars PC with the All the Units Mod. Guess I'm going for a Yanme rush.
I miss the Buggers
Anyone know where that clip of the spartan fighting the drones at the start from?
It is a Halo Infinite cutscene
Lekgolo could use Yanme exoskeletons as armor if they hollow it out of its flesh.

Who would win in a fight, an Ork Nob or a Brute Chieftain?
Why is it when I see these things I think of the gnosis people from Star Wars attack of the clones just makes me think of that
Drones?❌🤮 Buggers!✅😩
I didn’t necessarily hate the buggers, but I did not like them as much as the grunts and jackals
chitin is pronounced "ky-tin" just for future reference.
They need to come back to Halo
Annoying at best in difficulty less than legendary.
Lethal and really taking the piss out of you in legendary.
Can confirm, buggers will melt you in Legendary
More mythos 🙏

@gavinwhite984 I'm well aware gavin thank you for your input👍🏻
I have a Love/Hate Relation with the Yan'me, I love Their Designs, but I hate having to fight Them
I somehow thought they were flying grunts when I was a kid🤦♂
How the hell did this things fired so many plasma pistol shots while flying like mad bugs always annoyed the shit out of me.
*Yanme'e
So...just a bug. lol
The worst halo 2 boss battle.... wait they wernt a boss battle....
Damm buggers
I feel that, me and a buddy started going through the campaigns on Legendary, started Halo 2 recently, and ohhhh boy....

I would pay good money for a mod that removes these units from the game. 😂
