I don’t want to sound like I’m crapping on other “creators” and they’re content but, there’s a lot of “epic overland”, “epic” this and “epic” that; what’s happening here, this is epic.
I think "LET'S GET LOST", which is a fairly new offroad jeep edition, is a close second to "THE STORY TIL NOW"...
I enjoy watching both of them.
Your not shitting on anyone mate, unfortunately your 100% right
Expedition Overland tells some incredible story's in the places they go, the Africa trip they did recently was awesome.
@@captseamus I see you 🤙🙏🏻
It's the stupid algorhythm. It forces us to give shit titles to our videos; if we don't we get cycled down to the bottom. I'm not sure why large channels do this though...
Amazing Shaun! I grew up on Haida Gwaii (a long way from Australia where I live now). Spent my youth exploring the thousands of km of logging roads on our dirt bikes. It’s an amazing place. So remote and isolated and rugged, but also incredibly beautiful. Thanks for sharing your experience there!
This is probably your best yet, in terms of overall experience that you’ve provided to us the viewers. From location, to filming, to consequences with timing the tide. Just phenomenal! Thanks for all you do!
Man, I really love this longer videos of multi days adventures! That's where your storytelling becomes more amazing! Congratulations from Brazil 🤘
I almost never leave comments or like/share videos but this one, my friend, is world class. So cool to see creators from my beautiful BC producing content of this calibre. This is worth watching on a big screen. Kudos bud. See you on the trails
Thanks for this video Shaun! It's nice to know in this crazy, busy crowded giant world there are still places that feel empty, alone and untouched... Great work!
This is the beauty of living in western Canada, if your an outdoors person, it's the greatest place in the world, we still have freedom to roam around and explore. I for one do not take this for granted. Canada is a huge country. God Bless Canada.
Gretchen is cool AF! Would be interested in to learn more about what got her into adventure travel and her relationship with the region, she obviously knows some things. Getting me hyped for my next trip.
I'd be willing to bet that planning the trip is just as fun the trip for them
@@racingdesire haha, you got me! 😂 There is something about creating a well thought out plan and seeing it through to execution that scratches a certain itch for me.
Thank you Shaun & Gretchen for another amazing Adventure to Haida Gwaii
From a cinematic standpoint this one of the better "overlanding" videos I have seen. Watched it all the way through, thank you for your effort in producing it.
This new longer format videos are very good, always wanted you to go show some of the remote islands! 10/10.
I'm a fan of this documentary style. Props for trying new things! Your talent grows with the channel!
Wow, I love this account of your adventure. No crazy obstacles just stimuli overload. You can just feel the enthusiasm and passion in Gretchen‘s voice, I think I’ve officially added something to my bucket list!
Your filming and editing are just... Inspiring! Thank you
Thank you, Marco 🙏 Miss you!
Why are so many people sleeping on this channel. Keep up the great work, best content in this niche hands down. Storytelling, music, videography, man. On point
I used to dread Mondays before I found TSTN. Thanks. 😉 👍
Man, managing drone while driving deserves praise. Great adventure! Thank you for sharing 🙏
Probably the most incredible beauty of any of the TSTN vids I’ve seen. And Gretchen seems like a beautiful soul to spend time with. Loved this one. Can’t remember Pupper’s name. She was great too...
When I come back to BC, this will be one spot I will definitely have to see in person. Amazing movie, thanks to you both. Gretchen has a great film presence, and a seemingly great personality. She needs to be on camera more!
Awe, thanks!😊
No videos on your channel@@Gretchen_Trouble?
@@kabaenvironment2537I'm not a TH-camr, I'm too lazy 😂
The quality of video is on so high side that I was literally traveling with you the whole way... Super, thank you
Thanks Gretchen and Shaun for a incredible adventure to Haida Gwaii, we have come to follow. It has the elements of the Austrailian coast shore drives. Remote danger, and great views.
I'm subscribed to so many overlanding channels and some of them even pride themselves as videographer and photographer by profession and that's how they got into overlanding. For some reason, none of them gets anywhere close to what this channel puts out every single time. Crazy!
Absolutely right!
This edit is your best format yet. The two of you carried the video so well. Well done 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
A caution for North beach, or any of the beaches. The local indigenous do not appreciate vehicles travelling on the tidal flats (driving below the hi water mark) as this is how the clam beds get wrecked, compressing the ground. Tip: There is a self serve car wash in Port Clements fuel station to wash off the salt on the vehicles.
absolutely epic! all the shots were filmed perfectly. love it!
Gretchen testing the water is such a boss move.
Felt like she was doing all the work in this vid, even though Shaun was in the lead.
@@Buzzyfuzz she definitely was. Not trying to sound like a hater but Shaun come off as a bit of diva. He doesn’t like putting in the dirty work. He doesn’t even participate in modifying his rigs.
@Buzzyfuzz that’s because I’m pulling double duty as the cameraman as well. So Im always in the video less when I’m actually doing things unless I take the time to set up a tripod and film myself.
@6point1hemi that’s a lot of assumptions there brother when you’re seeing an hour of an 8 day trip. I love working on my rigs, but I don’t have time anymore because I spend 100+ hours a week working on these videos. Luckily I have the team at Epic that takes care of this for me so that I can have the time to do what I need to do. By the way, you do sound like a hater, but I’ll let it slide. 😜
@@6point1hemiWoah, Woah, Woah! Let's make it clear. The mission of this trip was to film, i was there to support the mission. Shaun absolutely did his fair share of work. He cooked, he cleaned, he organized a whole bunch of things that needed to be done. But most importantly it was filming everything. He can't operate a chainsaw and a drone at the same time, so when he was using the saw he wasn't filming it. You can't judge someone in a video for what they didn't do, because maybe you just didn't see it.
Hands down the best piece you have put together. It's probably the only time I have watched a video this long on YT!
Amazing trip with gorgeous scenery, excellent drone shots and the perfect music playing along with the natural sounds of wind and waves. Thank You for bringing us along!
I used to commercial fish back in the early 90s when I was teen. My parents weren't too big on me being around in the summers. So I was put on a boat to go up north gill netting. I hated it. But it was beautiful. I was too young to realize the foundation of what it was doing to me. Im glad I had that experience from 1990 to 1994 while I was in high school. It really is amazing up north. Its a good thing its difficult to get to. Because if it was easy, it would be ruined because it really is that beautiful up there. As always, amazing content, production and editing.
Your videos are the best quality I see in the off-road TH-cam world. I'm always so excited to watch your adventures and the places you go keep me motivated to work on my Jeep and getting her ready for many adventures to come!
I can't find the words to describe how beautiful this video is. Thank you Shaun for this tremendous effort. I'd definitely watch this video again.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This video and Dusin Porter @destinationadventure channel videos make me want to cross the border and explore Canada. Great job as usual Shaun.
This video was right up there with The McKenzie trail 😊 loved it & getting to see places we will never see. You have to feel like the first explorer
Gretchen was a great addition to the trip. Once again, the filming and editing was amazing on this. Could almost have broken it down into a two or three part episode.
I live on Haida Gwaii, I’m so sad I didn’t see you around
Such an amazing episode - Gretchen is also so cool. The salt water on the beach had my classic car brain screaming but for such an epic trip who cares! Great to see people using their rigs as intended 🙂
Outstanding! What a treat! Thank you for taking us along. Well done on achieving a wonderful trip.
Damn…. I’ve been a subscriber for a while. You are the best at telling a story. You’ve captured places my eyes will never get to see. The places you and your friends get to experience are second to none. But this one…. I cannot put words to what I’m feeling and I’m not even there. Well done!!!
Who'd have thought you could find let alone drive on a 80 km beach in Canada, I had a niece/nephew who lived in Prince Rupert BC for about 4 yrs before they moved back to Manitoba to get married and they always talked about Haida Gwaii from people they met and knew while they lived in Prince Rupert and wanted to go ,they just never owned a 4WD just an AWD SUV not the right vehicle for the trip unless they were just going to visit and hike a bit,Shaun it sounds like you even surprised yourself and were in awe of the natural beauty of Haida Gwaii , who wouldn't be , another Epic video 👍
Last week i past your truck in Quesnel, was wondering where you were. Now i know, awesome adventure!
Wow. Just wow! I was on the edge of my seat for most of the vid, the drone footage was spectacular! The commentary from you both was equally as entertaining. The whole thing was absolutely THE BEST! I loved it! Thanks! I look forward to many more adventures! If I could give it 100 thumbs up, it wouldn't be enough! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
New to this channel… it’s amazing!!! Thank you 👌
Pull up a chair. I think you'll like it here.
Loved this, the format works really well with the pace of the story 💯
Amaizing views. Thanks for all you do for us❤🤙
Love the top-down drone shots on the coast.
This is the second time I've seen this video, to see it in more detail, but one of the most impressive things is the enormous beach on the Pacific side. It's similar, I could say, to the beaches in California and Baja California. Extremely beautiful. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, MAN.
That trip was absolutely awesome, breathtaking, and the atmosphere was stunning. Your very best I have seen from the United Kingdom. Gob smacked 💕
Stoked to see you visit where I grew up! It's an incredible place really unlike anywhere else. Raw and rugged, just the way it should be! Glad you enjoyed it!!!
What an absolutely incredible adventure and beautiful video. This is on my short list of places I need to visit
Wish you could have made it!
@@TheStoryTillNow me too man
Beautiful! I can't wait to finish my 96 Blazer 4wd LS swap and lift. Taking me forever and nothing fits or just works. These adventures are what I look forward to.
Epic Shaun !! That looks like a really great trip to make ! Really enjoy the content you make, it allows a lot of us to live it vicariously right along with you ! So, where's the Jeep !?!? Did you trade it in on the 3/4 ton ??
Nicely done! Your camera work and editing continue to be envy-worthy!
What a superb production. I may need to "build" mu 4Runner now!
So glad Gretchen has become a part of the core adventuring crew!
Thank you for this beautiful showcase of these gorgeous lands. Indigenous languages, especially the languages of nations around British Columbia actually don’t have a word for “wilderness”. Wilderness would mean a desolate unruly land which needs to be tamed. There is no word for that because the land is home. There is life everywhere. The land is not something that needs to be tamed, the land takes care of us so it’s our duty to take care of it back. Pre-contact every inch of the lands were cared for. Each Nation, and each Nations clans/tribes would take care of their respective territories. Once the crown forcefully took over the lands they haven’t cared for them properly. Hundreds of wildfires every year, floods, garbage left around campsites, salmon dying… The land is sad. The waters are sad.
But this video shows that beauty still exists! To me this video gives me motivation to fight for the land and the waters. To take care of them, and keep them beautiful and pristine for the next generations.
Thank you ❤️
I love your adventure, because of your blog, we have a chance to see those wonderful natures. Way to go.
YES dude. ANOTHER expedition? Very nicely shot, I like the little sit down interviews interspersed.
Wow. Another Big Story from TSTN. Your video editing is getting more and more professional, it's wonderful. It's breathtaking what kind of nature you have in the USA/Canada, I'm really jealous. Best regards, a big German fan.
This is Canada, not the US. British Columbia.
@@thedarkslide okay Thanks 👍
@@Spacedoc-zy7sj I hate to admit it, but British Columbia beats the crap out of the US Pacific Northwest - in spite of us having three national parks in Washington State alone.
Cheers from Seattle
@@thedarkslide Thats absolutely okay. But my English is too weak to organize everything properly, sorry about that. Maybe I'll be able to visit one of these beautiful countries someday, that's a big dream. Prost from Flensburg Germany 😊.
@@Spacedoc-zy7sj Go for it! There’s more to see across the US and Canada than a person can explore in a lifetime. The Pacific Northwest is a good place to start!!
I watched this one on 65in TV and in some moments it was breathtaking.
Excellent work
This place passed my port and starboard windows many times years ago. I'd seen it on the charts, and could see the thin silver line of a beach to the north. I always wanted to see it closer. Now I have. Thank You.
33.56 min mark with the trees high up on the beach looks mountains.... Just wow, besides everything else in this video. You always do great work, bud...
Fun episode...cool adventure...Gretchen is a fun, enthusiastic, free spirit!
Been waiting for this video. I want to see both rigs in action!
Thanks for sharing the adventure. Absolutely one of the best yet.
I REALLY enjoyed this video! It was like a beautiful movie to wake up, and enjoy my coffee too!
Gretchen was great too, she adds a lot of entertainment!
Thank you for this❤
Wonderful "feel good" video, both of you. So well done .
Haida Gwaii has always been on my bucket list. A place whose break-taking beauty is in stark contrast to it’s history of sorrow and the decimation of it’s people.
So awesome! Thank you for this outstanding Video among all the other great ones ❤
Truly amazing! You, my friend, are very blessed!
Omg, Shaun...awesome..thank you so much. Love Rolanda, Auckland, NZ
@6:01 Gretchen's got the GOSO pan! Noice! 🙌🏼
They are sooo awesome!! They were nice enough to lend me a set for the trip.
@@Gretchen_Trouble can't wait!
Yeah, cool - what a trip - first thought before Day 1, you'd already be there. What a scenery! Great trip - again. Thanks to you and Gretchen!
Wow this was absolutly fantastic never seen any overland like this you two did an absolute beautifull job thank you for sharing wow
Another awesome video Shaun. I really like the tip of the land/beach scene we’re the weather was so different on each side. Keep up the great videography and music. Well produced…..
Thank you!
Love that backdrop! Outstanding video. Don't you love that feeling? When you realize, the world is way more powerful than you? That's adventure!
I lived in Canada Toronto but didn't had the chance to go up North. Amazing places and both Jeep and Dodge are outstanding. (Love the Dodge) 💪 Congratulations from Portugal 🇵🇹🇨🇦 keep it up
This is an awesome exploration. I've been lucky enough to be here a bunch of times for work. It's fun to see spots that I've been to already... and still on my list to go back to for fun..
Commenting again because I’m watching it again, there’s wild cows out there, and as for our winter weather… normal is 100kmh winds, sideways rain, when we do get snow it’s usually only a few days then it’s gone.
Super good video! Glad you made it through the death trap!! We're kinda loving the "new" longer video too. Glad you're exploring parts of the world that we're not ready to go to just yet. Oh yeah! And just how large is your drone controller?!?!?!! We always love the DWD footage! You have got to be the best at getting into and out of tight spots and getting some super spectacular drone shots! We've watched you from almost when you first started filming. It's amazing to see how far you've perfected your video skills. Keep up the excellent work!
This was spectacular. Thanks for sharing these journeys with us all! Looking forward to seeing where you end up next
I've worked lots on this island, unfortunately yet to vacation on it.
been through many road blocks near the cities, checking for insurance and Drivers licenses, because it is so remote that it's common to drive without either
those beach rollers are next level ! well done Shaun
Polymar bar is where you guys were camping the first night of this video. One of the more popular and easy to acces places around to fish, caught my first salmon there. Great video 🍻
Phenominal ! How you will ever top this one, is an unknown. But wow, what a journey as an adventurist and video producer.👏👏 Nice that Gretchen had a blast too, and was quite the trail chef. 👍👍
I’m sitting here in my RTT watching this in southern Yukon Territory. I plan to spend the next week in Western BC and I’m tempted to check out this area. I really like the edit and vibe on this video!
Great video bud! Looks like quite the experience
Another great video Shaun, I can see why it would be one of your favorite adventures, Gretchen did all the cooking.
Just started following and binge watching your videos. Your drone shots are FANTASTIC!....please consider doing some Yukon exploring. Our piece of paradise is worth coming to shoot some epic scenery
I just finished watching this movie and it just made my day, what an amazing experience thank you guys for allowing me to live vicariously together. godspeed!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great place as one of my friends did a trip there a few years ago. On my list too.
Great video!
your journey with the powerful cars is a real challenge👍. really great, I would have loved to have been there too.😀
On the Pacific coast. Four tides/day - two high/two low, with one peak high tide and one peak low tide daily. What they call a King tide down here in California is around a 8'/9' tidal swing. You guys up in BC get daily tidal swings of 15'+.
What an epic trip, the cinematography was outstanding
That island is surreal; love it!
Between you and Dustin the govt should sponsor you as ambassadors of nature and primitive beauty. Btw you are definitely 10 ply.
Nice to meet you today!
What an Adventure! Great video! I loved it!
beautiful, looks like a bucket list trip. i really like seeing you both on the trail and hear you talk about it.
