I majored in Geography, and I wish we had a cool little click and match game like this. We were given a big list of countries, regions, cities, features, etc. and had to write everything on a map the old fashioned way.
What does country name have to do with geography tho
@@justkev1044 For that particular course, it was for generalized overviews of different regions. But given that Geography is about how the physical features of Earth and human activity affects each other, having a reference point like the name of a country is pretty useful.

As someone who did well in geography as a subject. I never once learnt about the different countries on a map, like was it common sense or maybe it was just one of those classes I missed…either way if I’m lucky then I could probably score the highest of a 4.

In America, we don't usually actually discuss or teach much about the outside world, except in regards to colonialism, slavery, and the world wars.
You know, the things that left the deepest impact on our history and impacted our society most.
Despite how important knowing about what's been happening around the world actually is.
show x on a map was a big part of it when i was in school, but not just countries, we had to be able to point at mountains, lakes, place capitals and so on. we didn't have to be super accurate though, like if they asked you about fujiyama, you got the point just for putting it on the right island.
I mean, it's an important mind model to have in your head, to know who is neighbor with who, who has access to which sea, important landscape features such as mountain or river that might explain why some countries traded a lot with another, or why Poland got rolled over by everyone. Who lives in a place where snow shuts off life in the winter, or those living in a place where winter is a chill time (or there's no seasons at all).

Here is something to remember Germany by: It looks a bit like a tree just like Italy looks like a boot.
I am positively surprised by how much she knew/guessed (but she seemed pretty confident so I say she knew the answers except maybe Ukraine and Romania, where she 50/50ed and won)
Also when she dragged the spanish flag on Spain and the game punished I was like....there is no way these developers are that ignorant right?
It was actually just that the *juuust* missed Spain and hit no country. Which the game counted as a wrong.

Yeah she was right about Spain, it just didn't register correctly. Which made her doubt herself and think portugal for a split second, but she knew that was wrong.
Also the 50/50 was more Romania and Poland, which were the last two. Ukraine sort of too, she just knew it was closest to like Russia/East - which those were the three slots for that.
