So, I’ve a Touareg RLine that I now keep as a second car for towing. I wanted an electric car as a work commuter. I wanted an ID3 but too long a wait. Bought an ID5 at my local VW dealer. There are loads in the uk inventory and picked up a 2022 Style Pro Performance 204bhpwith heat pump and only 10 miles on clock for 32k on a lease contract. Its sat in the show room for a year. It’s not a Touareg as it’s not a tow car, but so far it’s great. No range anxiety, fast charge. On the motorway stretch the adaptive cruise and driver assist is as good as the Touareg. Wish I had the HUD in the tech model but with the deal I got I’m cool with it.
It’s quick enough as a commuter, weekend up to the lakes car. It’s not an 100mph autobahn cruiser like the Touareg but that’s not what’s for. People moan on about the haptics and, I agree they are not great. But you get used to them and all the other design language in the ID range.
I agree that you get used to them; I don't think anyone that buys a new car to them immediately has the reaction that the car reviewers do!

Yes 32K is brilliant. I paid 39K for mine at Listers Worcester, the px allowance against my December 2020 ID3 1st Edition of 21K wasn't great either.

There’s not a lot of cars with not too expensive initial down payments. One of the only cars on there that look decent is this, other cars such as Q4 are a lot more expensive but what does everyone think about the id5 for a mobility car?
I'm sorry, but nothing with a bargain basement interior like the VW id range can be a sweet spot in any range. Never mind the fact it costs over 50k!
All the German cars have a big drop in interior quality unfortunately. This is a good interior for a modern car.

I don’t think ID.5 has more space, than ID.4.
They’re identical in the front, ID.4 has more headroom at the back, and while ID.5 has nominally 6 more liters in the trunk, it’s a trick of definition: the trunk volume is measured up to the top of the back seats. But the total usable volume in the trunk is quite a bit bigger in the ID.4.
I was crawling through both for hours, side by side. And in no way is ID.5 a bigger car.
Stay away from this car. My sister has one, and I drive a Mercedes Eqc. The screen looks like something made in the 1990s. So bad grafic. Bluetooth and GPS is always a problem. The 360 camera is so bad that her husband never uses it. And then it's noisy. Trust me. I've been driving electric for a while. The only good thing in the ID 5 is the massage chair.
