  • #Jeep #Wagoneer #grandwagoneer Full-size SUVs are America’s full-size luxury sedans of the modern age. Large, heavy, luxurious barges with big engines are still the finest mode of transportation in my book. Some people call them wasteful; I think it’s wasteful to drive a Prius and cry yourself to sleep at night.
    However, I was utterly undecided which one was the best. The Lincoln Navigator has a beautiful, stylish interior but an underpowered V6 engine. Meanwhile, Cadillac offers powerful V8 engines but lacks the classy interior that the Navigator offers. But, the third of the Big Three comes to save the day with an all-new offering: the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I mean, the Wagoneer Grand Wagoneer. Apparently, it’s its own brand now.
    Getting over my initial disappointment about the lack of woodgrain paneling, let’s take a look at what Mopar has to offer in the largest class of SUVs. Also: drinking game; take a shot every time I say “Wagoneer” in this video.
    First, let’s clear something up.
    In this video we’ll not only focus on the Grand Wagoneer, but we’ll also look at what sets the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer apart. First of all, both come with a Hemi V8, one of the best engines in the market. And for the Grand Wagoneer, the 6.4L version is standard. 6.4L V8 vs. Lincoln’s 3.6L V6, I know what I want to pull the weight of my giant SUV and trailer combo. The regular Wagoneer comes standard with a 5.7L V8 engine.
    The 6.4-liter Hemi in the Grand Wagoneer produces 470 horsepower and a whopping 455 pound-feet of torque, while the Wagoneer’s 5.7-liter delivers 392 horsepower and 404 pound-feet of torque. Lastly, the Grand Wagoneer can be optioned with a 3-liter inline six engine, delivering up to 510 horsepower and a torque of 500 pound-feet on premium fuel. Although these are impressive numbers, the V8 performed more smoothly and doesn’t require high octane fuel. This, combined with the improved longevity of a V8, makes the Hemi our engine of choice for this SUV.
    The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer come in multiple trim levels, starting with the Series I and going up to the Series III, which offers every luxury available on the model.
    One of the best surprises in the Grand Wagoneer is its ride. Jeep’s new SUV is built on the platform of the RAM 1500 truck and those familiar with the newest generation will know that’s not a bad thing. It’s a solid platform and the already comfy ride has been greatly refined for the Grand Wagoneer. What we liked a lot about this SUV is the great emphasis on comfort. It has comfy suspension which makes it feel like a true traditional American luxury vehicle and the cabin is very well-isolated which adds to the premium luxury feel. The SUV does feel very large, but the big V8 gets this machine from 0 to 60 in 6 seconds. Which is seriously fast considering the size and weight of the Grand Wagoneer.
    If you prefer a sportier ride, the SUV features five driving modes; Auto, Sport, Snow, Rock, and Sand/Mud. The magnetic suspension will automatically adapt to the selected mode and the road surface and conditions. And this is a true Jeep, including 4WD drivetrain and a suspension that can be raised or lowered, which probably makes it the most offroad-capable full-size SUV currently on the market. The Grand Wagoneer can even be lowered by pressing a special button on the key fob for easier access.
    We love that the designers of the Grand Wagoneer didn’t try to make it look small. It’s got a very masculine, square shape which not only looks commanding, but also gives it even more interior space. It also distinctly sets it apart from the crossovers that are flooding the roads these days. The front of the Grand Wagoneer is slanted forward, in line with Jeep’s new styling that debuted in the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. An interesting design choice is the black roof, which makes the SUV look almost as if it has no roof at all. It sets it clearly apart from the Wagoneer with its regular roof appearance.
    The overall square look of the SUV continues in the tail lamps. Those are sequential in the Grand Wagoneer, while the regular Wagoneer just gets regular blinkers. What’s even more cool than sequential blinkers though, is the patterns when you lock and unlock the Grand Wagoneer. Definitely worth the extra 20 grand. Standard wheels on the Grand Wagoneer are 20”, with 22” as an available option.
    The Grand Wagoneer invites you in with illuminated door handles and power running boards.
    Another nice convenience is the touchless entry to the rear liftgate. Keyless entry unlocks the doors simply by touching the handles.
    Now, this wouldn’t be a Jeep if the design weren’t full of easter eggs.
    Jeep is proud of its American roots and it screams Merica!

      You can spec a Grand Wagoneer L Series 3 Obsidian, which is the highest trim you can get (even more than the Series 3 Obsidian), and with all the options, it maxes at 125K. But they aren't selling at that price. Dealers around the US are selling them for around an average of 113k-115k.@@LCR

    WOW!!! I have watched a lot of videos of the Grand Wagoneer and this one had more detailed useful information. I’m waiting on the 2025s to come out and I’m getting one. I’m coming from a Mercedes GLS 580, I do love how the backseat window shades on the Mercedes are automatic and I do wish the Grand Wagoneer’s were also. Since I have been looking at a lot of different models, I do think most them have missed the mark on the air condition vents not being on the roof. Maybe they look better or more convenient for most people being on the side, but there needs to be a woman involved (😂) in designing these vehicles that thinks about infants/babies in rear facing car seats. They can’t feel the air conditioning, in the South, that’s a big deal. Angie, thanks for this video! I’m looking forward to getting mine.

    What do you mean navigator is underpowered it puts out 470hp and 510 lb-ft, twin turbo 3.5 v6🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ it weighs about 800 pounds less

    • @LCR
      @LCR  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I drove it, I felt how it accelerated. I don't care about numbers on paper. In low RPMs, before the turbo kicks in, it's slow off the line. Then the turbo kicks in and it takes off. It's an annoying way of delivering power and doesn't befit a luxury SUV in my opinion.

    I know a guy, who knows a guy, who cries himself to sleep for half of his paycheck goes to refuel his car 😛. I do love the Wagoneer although it slurps fuel like an alcoholic slurps whiskey and pops open new bears.

    • @LCR
      @LCR  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not sure if someone who can afford a $125k SUV will struggle filling it up twice or thrice a month.

    • @AmazingWorlds314
      @AmazingWorlds314 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They will fill it up twice just to go around town at its 13mpg (18 liters / 100 km) in city driving (15mpg combined), thus they won’t even get to cry themselves to sleep; they’ll cry on the side of the road right before they thought they had enough fuel to get to a gas station. The MSRP as of today is $91.190, not 125k.” I still love it though. Great review as always, but dunking on Prius again? Yes, it’s all Prius’s fault that Grand Wagoneer is a fuel-alcoholic. Only government officials may not mind their cars’ mpg, private owners would. I am quoting the above answer because I didn’t type it. Toyota USA said they will select 10 lucky recipients and give them discounts for a new Prius and a voucher for a free vegan breakfast if I post it here. I can almost hear them munching while rolling down windows in their new Prii.

    Old footage. 2024 is the Hurricane 6 Twin turbo standard (SO) 420HP Wagoneer and (HO) 510 HP (Grand) 6.4 was for 2022 and 23 MY. Both Hurricane engines (SO/HO) cover the regular and L models. o find the Hurricane has much better power and performance than either of the HEMI

    • @LCR
      @LCR  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The issue is that those are peak numbers. Overall performance isn't as good or as smooth. A V8 delivers constant power which turbo engines don't. On top of that, there's the durability issue, with turbo engines simply not lasting the hundreds of thousands of miles that American V8s do. If it was for the extra power, Jeep could've used the supercharged Hemi which they've done before. The only reason for the Hurricane to exist is CAFE regulations.

  • @richgallagher725
    @richgallagher725 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    FCA needs to drop the 5.7 from their SUV’s they currently offer it in., it’s inferior to the 6.4 and consumers that check off the V8 box won’t care about the worse gas mileage, trust me, the demographics that are considering this SUV that are concerned about MPG, will choose one of the fewer cylinder engines.

    Sorry, but the V-8 are obsolete. At this point you want to buy a car with a future engine, not one that's being phased out, making your car instantly old. On the other hand, if you intend to keep the car until it fall apart, the well proven and HEMI might not be such a bad choice since issues are well-known and parts are readily available.
    Amway, I have the Grand Wagoneer spelled on the dash as if the scream in the passenger's face the type of car you own. Nobody needs to be reminded of the type of car on the inside. Its tacky.
