Then the seat goes up on the tracks and voila! She's floating! Sorry this comment is a few months late, and you might have learned it by now, but I think that's what happened. Read it somewhere

@@alethabreiner1239 That's what it looked like to me. The bottom railing of the stairs is the track, and Adam knocks the seat off the tracks and into the mop bucket so that it goes unnoticed.
The seat is actually put onto the railing by one of the Beetlejuice clones after they are summoned to carry him to the door to the Netherworld. If you look closely, you see a clone run up to the base of the railing, attach it, and hump the railing (I’m guessing that’s just to mask it) before running off :)
I know this is an old comment but i finally just figured out the full sequence of events. There is like a seat that connects to the banister right behind her that lifts her up and down. One of the Beetlejuice clones attaches it while the rest are picking him up. Then during Delia and Charles dances directly in front of her to hid her throwing her leg and dress over it when she sits down. Finally, as someone else already said, Adam removes the seat when he walks across the stage with a mop and bucket. I found a "slime tutorial" of the entire show and rewatched the scene over and over until i caught it all.
