- Presley Ryan, 16, went from understudy to leading lady Lydia Deetz of “Beetlejuice” on Broadway to being self-quarantined, all within two weeks. Before Broadway closed its doors, Presley spent the day going to school, dance class, physical therapy and the grocery before what was the last performance of “Beetlejuice” at the Winter Garden Theatre. She may have not been the main, but she was definitely played Lydia many times before her debut. Although, most of the time she was an understudy. She wasn't the official girlscout or Lydia at the time, Dana was the main girlscout and Sophia was Lydia at the time. She didn't play mains a lot because she was young and still at school and Dana and Sophia were there most of the time so ewe....
It will be great for her resume though 😭

Iris Parker ya. That’s kinda the cycle of a broadway show, cuz there’s only so many venues. But beetlejuice isn’t gone forever, and it’s been confirmed there will be a tour in 2021
@@melol9404 Huh? A theatre is like a house for the show, one that the show rents. Once the contract ends, the theatre can decide to allow the show to play for another year or make a contract with another show, in this case the Music Man, so Beetlejuice has to vacate. Either that, or the show doesn't make enough money to stay in the theatre/ on Broadway, but that isn't the case.
How the hell does she do this? School in the morning full of singing and performing, dance in the afternoon AND a full Broadway show at night. This girl has no chill and I'm amazed

Presley puts an amazing spin on Lydia’s character and I am devastated that I will no longer be going to see the show in June. Presley has so much acting experience and talent for her age and she definitely doesn’t deserve negative comments.

FizzyDizzy Studios yeah. People like to compare her to Sophia Anne Caruso, who originated the role for Lydia and how she’ll never live up to her. But Presley has such a fresh take on Lydia that I love and she’s really talented and deserves this role.

Literally everyone is obsessed with thinking that this was Beetlejuice, but people should really be focused on her talent, amazing personality, and things that inside edition ACTUALLY interviewed her for.
She was Annie in a local production in my town, I got to see her in Annie and also Beetlejuice. She performed beautifully both times!
No one talks about the fact that Presley’s tik toks basically saved the show in the beginning. It’s run would’ve been much shorter without her. Such a shame she didn’t get as much time as Lydia as she should’ve.
THIS. She should have gotten credit or like an assistant social media position. She SAVED this show by making it popular on TikTok, as did all the kids who came to the show subsequently!

It honestly seems so fun to be on Broadway. I was going to audition for my high schools' musical this year, but I changed my mind last minute because I was waaaay too scared.
•mj •playz• I was going to be in a musical theatre company and every year that company gets to perform in the local theater where lots of broadway legends have performed like desi Oakley
I wanted to be in my school’s musical last year but I didn’t get a part so instead I worked backstage, and as fun working on a production is, it was stressful for me, the other crew members, and especially the actors. It was all commit, commit, commit and while that’s not a bad thing it took it’s toll over everyone. The drama teachers were so frustrated with us when something didn’t get done and some of my friends who were super nice got angry at me and others. The positives outweigh the negatives thankfully, but keep in mind theatre isn’t for everyone. It certainly isn’t for me, I’ll stick to working backstage

I saw the show in november and it was amazing. Probably my favourite ever!! Sad the cast didn’t get their big farewell :( such an amazing cast too!! I got Presley’s autograph on my playbill, she was super sweet
