If the car isn’t a total rot box I vote to save it. Lot of desirable parts if not. The little m10 is a pretty decent motor but downside is some parts are getting pretty hard to find. No one supports the jetronic ignition system. Good news is you can mega squirt it if you want to keep the m10. I’m working on a 85 318i and stuff is so hard to find for the m10. Information is also wrong in many places. I’m likely just going to M54B30 swap it.
I would pull that thing out of there like it was a strongman competition if I had to. Clean that thing up and it’s gonna be worth $50K one day and a hell of a vehicle to own until then
Well shit, i love all vehicle projects but its hard to work on something you dont want to. if you dont find it motivating or want to either fix the engine, throw a different drivetrain in er, then just part it out, take the money and get youre life going smooth till you find something you want to work on or put it towards a project you already got that you do have motivation and do want to work on
That’s how I am. I just can’t bring myself to spend so much time and effort into something that really doesn’t interest me. Especially if it’s gonna be a pain. The fuel systems on these cars are a nightmare in itself. Not to mention it’s been sitting 10yrs, wires cut, parts missing, engine extremely locked up, just doesn’t seem worth it at all when I have so many other fish to be fried.
@@BradenBuildz yeah I remember how you were in the video with that truck in the dried up river that was about to be no longer dried up and that one you seemed stoke to do, this not so much. Seeing that kind of motivation and spark in videos gets my spark ignited so I think to even if you were to work on it when you don't want to the videos wouldn't even do as well as hoped because it doesn't have that same spark. Just my opinion of course, I'm no expert but I'd much rather watch you having fun then just feeling like your fighting a losing battle! Regardless, great videos those shots you had of the car where beautifully cinematic and looking forward to the next thing you put out!!!!
I'd love to get my hands on this BMW.... Might be expensive to refurbish in the US, but I reckon you could do a thing or two with it in the EU (where I'm at). Edit: Moldy and wet, scoring and rust in the engine..... maybe just drop it. Might be usefull for spare parts though. They're sought after maybe.
Looks like a sharknose, might have good info on a bimmer forum out there somewhere. If you wanna make a series on it and try and make your cash back on YT do that, otherwise maybe go part out route or sell the thing whole to someone for a low amount.
Up to you if you want to take a crack at it.... we will watch. Seems like an interesting injection system but that oil didn't look promising I agree with another comment drag it down the road and dump the clutch can't hurt it any more
I love Bmw cars ... I owend a few . A 320 from 1989 with a 2.0 V6 and 150 HP & original M5 from 1986 with a 3.5 liter V6 and 286 HP ... I like German car's . Regarts from Holland 🇳🇱.
16 min vid doesn’t show the whole 30 days I was pouring white vinegar, pb blaster, acetone and torching the cylinders tryna get it to turn. This wasn’t a will it start vid
Like you said, its probably not worth it to start it but I'm sure I speak for at least 95% of us when I say we wanna see it start

Yes
Dump the clutch on a downhill roll and see if it'll unlock it.
Only thing I'd keep are the wheels and the coins from under the seat...those wheels look great on Mk1 Vws.😎
That’s how you can get the views up people love it when getting something running in this condition

More to come
Bmw never worth the hassle. You're right about parting it out
