Hey cager, i've owned my zzr1400ps from new in 2014. i can tell you it's an awesome machine, it's 210bhp (UK model) with ABS and traction control etc. it does evrything you want it too, i've thrashed it to its limits and beyond, I've toured on it and used it everyday for work. i've also set it's awesome ohlins suspension up properly, i've had hayabusa's and blackbirds, and yzf etc etc. this zzr is my favourite all time bike. it handles, it's fabulously fast on and off track, and if you have it re mapped and derestricted like mine, the smile will never leave your face. anybody who slates this bike hasn't a clue what they're talking about. This is a kawasaki masterpeice.
Have to agree here as well.... Also this big bike with big power is nothing to be intimidated by. The electronic traction control, solid ABS, adjustable power settings, and slipper clutch make it very noob friendly. My mate just got off his 250... He had a ride of mt zx14r and was like.... that thing aint scary till you rip and grip.
@docker Andy, what did you do to the suspension? Can you explain it a little? I'm thinking about getting one, so I'd like to learn as much as I can about it. Thanks!
Yes, ZZR1400 can easily be used as "every day bike"..i've had 2006 ZZR and it was good bike to be used every day...And like Christian Andersson said, it's all up to you how you drive your bike...bikes are not dangerous, riders are..
Christian Andersson I was just about to say this fool in this video is overhyping this thing like the rider has no self control - get on the bike and it will automatically propel you 10000 miles per hour like shutup .
I commute 110 miles a day on mine when ever it is dry. Can't fault the bike, and it returns 45mpg, and no, that's no tootling along at a steady 50 mph....
My wife despised the idea of me getting any motorcycle in the first place. Looking to upgrade from my 06' Ninja 250 I took her to the local Kawasaki shop to look at the new 650's. She essentially flocked right to the 16' ZX-14r, sat on it and excitedly asked me, "why don't you you just get this thing, this is what you want anyway!". Glad she loved the bike, it will save arguments when I bring one home some day. With the technology it has now I know it's possible for newbie riders to enjoy. However I don't want payments so I'll just work my way up the cc tree as I save up for the Busa killer. l'll probably just get an older Ninja 650 and get used to that until I can get a 13'ish ZX-6r or Ninja 1,000. I can get used to that and ride it until I can afford the the quickest accelerating bike on the Planet. I like the idea of a planned progression anyway.
You're kidding with the turning, right? I've had this bike for 18 months now, put about 19k miles on it, and find it ridiculously easy to steer - no extra lean required, just countersteer. I mean, you can add extra lean if you want, but there's no need to. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's the easiest, most stable bike I've ever ridden, both in a straight line, and through curves, as well as at low speeds. It's a great everyday bike. Perhaps not the best for filtering, due to the bar width, but certainly not the worst either. All of that being said, my size might be a factor: I'm about 190cm and 95kg, so a bigger bike is definitely more comfortable for me, but still fairly easy to handle. The nice thing about the ZZR is despite the weight, it doesn't feel top heavy. The only real downer is running costs. The short service interval (3750 miles), which also affects other Kawasakis, can be frustrating, particularly if you like taking longer trips, and the cost adds up if you're doing a lot of miles. You're also going to need to budget for tyres about as often as you service it, possibly more often depending on how you ride. Combine all that with the none too awesome fuel economy (I get 41-42mpg on average) and it becomes pretty expensive to run. One other thing I've noticed is the front brake discs tend to warp. I'm told this is due to the weight of the bike, but it's frustrating because they're expensive to replace. I'm about to have my third set fitted. You get used to the power, maybe a bit too used to it, but it's easy to ride safely in the wet with the low power mode and traction control maxed out. I never really notice the traction control in the dry but it's certainly saved me a couple of times in the wet. I usually turn the traction control down to minimum when the roads are dry. You can switch it off completely, but I've never done this - it's never seemed necessary (or sensible). When it comes time to replace my bike I'm not sure I'd get another ZZR - at least not as a daily ride - purely due to the running costs and the amount I ride. That being said, I love it to bits.
+Mamat Md. Zain I got a 14r as my first bike. Your right hand and common sense will keep you alive. If you know you want a really fast bike in the long term why waste money buying and re-selling a 250, 600, 1000cc bikes to get to a 1400 but I can see CagerOnTwoWheels point.
+Mamat Md. Zain I pretty much did this. Briefly had an ER6F after I passed my test, but the exhaust fell apart. By this time - only after a couple of weeks - I already felt like I'd outgrown the bike, and it was a bit uncomfortable on long trips because I'm fairly tall. Since I'd bought it from a dealership where a friend works they just took it back and I used it as part of the deposit on the ZZR. Just be careful and you'll be fine. +NeverScared is right: if you trade your way up through a variety of bikes it's just a good way to lose a lot of money, and you'll never be satisified. Buy what you want and ride sensibly. The ZZR makes this easy because the fueling is amazing so the throttle response is entirely predictable. Some people might find that boring but I'm a big fan because it's never taken me by surprise.
+Never Scared I don't get the whole reselling thing. Too much trouble with people wanting to haggle with you. Especially if you've done any mods. I've kept my 300, 600 and liter bike. I get what you're saying. It's different for everyone.
Hey Cager, irrespective of some negative comments, I'm glad you enjoyed the experience so much. I agree with most people's comments that this bike isn't a true sports bike in the sense. However, as I'm 180cm tall and 105kg (yes I need to lose weight) I find this bike to be a perfect balance between sports, tourer and commuter. Previous to my ZX14, I owned a ZX10, also an incredible ride, but for me it felt too light (top heavy with me on it). I agree with most comments that this bike isn't great in heavy traffic and lane splitting on it is painful, but if you're a slightly larger person who commutes or rides in places away from the suburbs, this bike is AAA+++!
One of the most informative videos out on kawasaki zx14. It dissuaded one - me - from buying this bike when I have never ridden over a 100cc. A literal life - saving video!
I have a ZZR1400 Performance Sport and use it to commute into London daily. In rain I run it on the 2nd traction level. The bike is extremely stable, throttle control is great and hence a great commuting bike that can almost achieve 200 mph.Its extremely comfortable for a hyper sports bike I love it! (Advanced riding test recommended) Usually manage between 180 and 200 miles out of a tank full of fuel with sensible street riding.(Does not mean you cannot have fun too!)
Now your on a real big fast motorcycle Cager!!!It has over 200Horsepower and it is very fast!!!! Pay Attention Cager and enjoy!!!!!! It's a great motorcycle for California where we have lots of canyon roads to the beach and long wide freeways for miles.
I ride ZX12R A model & the ZZR1400 is the bike that I really want to park next to my 12R! Love those big bad monsters! Nice vid man.. 1400 will be mine for sure one day! Hypersport power!
I own one and you're right, its a monster. I have no idea how I'd ever be happy on anything else. It's simply stupid fast. Hope you enjoyed you're test ride.
I've been riding 14s since 2007. Won't ride anything else on the street. And it kicks butt on a roadrace course also. Knee draggin' is no problem. LOVE THESE BIKES!
i do everything with my 2008, 14. i go slow, i u-turn easily, i go fucking very ass fast, i go the speed limit, i twist, i ride it to work, i ride it to the store, i love it and it loves me. this is my second bike and ive been riding for almost a year. respect it, dont fear it.
What the hell is wrong with people in this video? why is there so much hate? Cager spoke his mind, get over it people, playing it cool and badass on the internet gets you nowhere, you look like 6 year old kids... Awesome video, glad you are speaking your mind as always, I love honest reviews!
The bike is an amazing machine. You're gunning it on short streets which is not the ideal situation for the kind of power that bike has. You're not riding it in a practical way to give the review the bike deserves. You're just displaying its bursts of speed. At any rate... Thank you for the review none the less.
Hey, I have one, and it is SOOOOO much fun to ride both on city roads, daily commute and on the twisties. But your review is so hilarious. I reasonably enjoyed your review, very entertaining.
I ride my 14 over 600 miles on the weekends and most of the miles are curvy. It eats curves like Pacman. Very capable in the twisties. And my back doesn't hurt after the long rides like my liter-bike riding buddies.
I do own the 2016 zx14r and Let me just say Its really not a beginner bike at all. She is one hell a bike even for seasoned riders. Now that being said the ABS and stopping power is amazing just like the speed. This bike will get you a few tickets if you don't watch it :)
Armedlegally mate how much / long would you class a beginner? im tossing up between one of these and the gtr1400. ive got almost 4 years and 25k riding time. not alot compared to alot of guys and girls (hey I started late) but i am almost 40 and pretty much done all my stupid shite 😄
Hi Lee, for what ever my opinion is worth everyone is hugely different when it comes to the throttle. I'm 41 now been riding now 11 years, I have pretty good discipline when it comes to speeding. However some of these younger riders this machine can put them in 0-180 VERY fast. But I also think this bike is just about perfect also for me (aside from the weight) she has ABS, Low power and full power and 3 traction control settings. Which gives you a lot of extra confidence while riding in conditions. Shes well at home at high speeds and great for the highway. She just doesn't get blown all around like smaller bikes and plenty of power to get out of the way of others. I put my wife on it after 6 months of her learning on a fz1 how to ride. She doesn't knee drag or anything to drastic but she can maneuver the bike fairly quickly in corners and twisties. I don't believe you will have any issues other than when to get off the bike and park it at the end of the day. Just last night I put a quickshift on her and later today i'll be putting autotune on her. I will be taking her to the drag just to see what conservative numbers I can put down :) Anyhow if you do get a chance go test drive one.....But I tell ya it will probably be love at first sight.
Armedlegally thanks for the reply mate. i known its all about how much i twist the wrist, but that much power has me being cautious. i will be doing an advanced rider course though. cheers
Brilliant review!! Laughed so much my wife thought I'd lost the plot.If you've got no self control this bike ain't for you, you'll either end up in a Morgue or in Prison. Had my 2013 ZZR for a year now and love it. Has to be the best Sports Tourer on the market.Keep up the good work Cager.
The best.motorcycle I have owned and currently own 4th of those.Power is smooth and quite linear ,riding position is very comfy.Bike is big and heavy and I would recommend it to experienced bikers. Its not as agile as small Honda Fireblade but a mile eater when you like long trips.Build quality is great and if bike has been looked after even older models will not cause you expenses.
Cager. Your review made me laugh at your panic. I had a Pan European and thought i would have a change so went out and bought a 2009 ZZR WOW. I have to agree the acceleration is impressive to say the least , comfortable ride and a smile on your face every time you ride . Thanks for your review.
Fun vid.you reminded me of how it is to have your first ride out on a proper big bike LOL. Some wise words too though about not for beginners! I have been riding over 25 years and I own this bike now. It's a brilliant road bike.
I've seen almost all the 14R reviews on TH-cam. Yours, by far, has been THE BEST. Funniest of them all... There was a moment, wen I was sipping coke, the way you said.. Holy...., that sip, went thru my mouth, came out from my nose... Man... Stupendous job on this review.
I don’t get it when people say stuff like “don’t get this bike unless you want to get killed” etc. That only applies to people who are incapable of self control and have to push the limits all the time. The human wrist can rotate as much or as little as it wants to. I read similar reviews about the Suzuki VZR1800 when I was moving up from 600cc but I got one anyway and by riding cautiously within its limits I gradually got a feel for it, now I’m glad I didn’t settle for a middleweight that I’d have ended up trading in within a year. Yes this bike will kill you but only if you’re already brain dead. I have two friends who both ride ZZRs and one of them commutes into the city every day on his and has never had a spill on it. Richard Hammond (“Top Gear”) also chose this as Ghislain commuter bike into London. At the same time plenty of riders have come unstuck on bikes with half this size and power. It’s all about the individual an what he does with his wrist (on the bike, at least.)
I wish the US got the Performance Sport (Öhlins/Akrapovič) version that Europe gets. Thinking about buying one anyway before they’re no longer on sale. Many reviews say it’s a very competent sport tourer. I never was interested in them either, but that interest grew.
Very amusing commentary on such a wild bike. I know exactly how you feel. I got off shaking after test riding that bike in the UK. Really enjoying all your test ride & reviews. Much respect to Cager 👍
i worked up to a zx14. had that 12 years. now got zxr. it handles better than the generation 1. there is no comparison. the zx14 is smoother. but this zx14r is safer. better brakes as well. these bikes have a short stroke high compression motor that slow u down if you get into a hairy situation. then u can brake. it will compose itself like a charm/ marvellous bike.
Most awesome bike I have ever owned. Will never get rid of it, unless they put a supercharger on the new one! I put slip ons and a lithium battery on mine and save about 35 pounds. Mine turns great by the way!
couple of great quotes from this one: "This is NOT the bike to be polite on --sorry." "Fuck me, Fuck me....I'll have to edit this part out because I'm swearing too much." You forgot to edit that part out.
I have no issues turning how much do you weigh? My 290lbs shoves it around without issue. I find it makes a great daily driver and on the flats, well, try to keep up.
thw funny thing is, in a recent teat with the ZZR1400, ZX10-R, and H2, their speeds, acceleration, and braking was all almost identical with small variations. the big difference is riding style and definitely price.
I own one from 2006. It's not a difficult bike to ride at all. Yes it goes like hell but only if you want to, there is something called a throttle and it's really smooth. The breaks are awesome and the bike is very stable. If you ride responsible, this is one hell of a bike.
My 2012 zzr didn't accelerate, it fucking launched. Incredibly nimble and comfortable once you get it moving, otherwise it was a lumbering beast. As most men, i couldn't get enough power, the zzr left me wanting nothing more. It truly is a rush to ride. I took it up to 155mph on the outskirts of Denver she was almost happy, I had to slow or go to jail. If you want the ultimate rush, and can lift it up yourself, go for it.
You need riding lessons. I own a 2016 Performance Sport and I've never had a second of trouble. It handles well enough for me to turn it around mini-roundabouts, and it will only go as fast as you make it. Calm down and stop being so melodramatic.
Man I Love your excitement on these vidoes hahaha My freind has this bike So I can totally relate to you whilst riding this bike it was the same as yours hahah Great Fun to watch Cager ! big love man an ride Safe dude !!
I bet you're one big fucking hero, he never did say he was a pro rider, and btw, calling shit the ZZR is pure ignorance, the ZZR still remains the fastest accelerating bike whatever you say...and of course it's not a super sport, it's a hyper sport,it can do both corners and insane speeds and acceleration while adding touring comfort. If you're a big guy like me 6'6 ,you'll never think about buying fucking toys like 1000 cc's and Ducatis .....The bike has it's own public.
Don't mind john jay. He probably takes his aprilia out for a spin once on a weekend and only if its sunny and the road temperature is right for his slick tyres. The rest of the time he spends admiring pictures of italian bikes in magazines and comparing the track test times. My ZZR will outperform his Aprilia or Ducati on any type of real road and i will be fresh as cucumber after the journey, while he will have to go attend chiropractor's! All those super bikes are designed for track and actually pain in the ass in real traffic especially if you are above 180cm tall.
+john jay dude u do realize that the zx14r is the most maneuverable hypersport ever and its stock hp is more than a flashed zx10r u are very unfamiliar with zx14s aren't u
Probably the only zzr 1400 rider that's not a fan . Had mine around 2 months . Bought it from a Muppet in Carlisle . Done 2000 miles on it . 2010 plate . 45000 on clock . 1 owner from new . Full Kawasaki dealer service history . Just had new front discs replaced one was fractured. Fuel pump shot . Back bairing shot . 2 new calipers S old ones shot . Bill for over 1100 pounds .
I know that feeling. You figure you'll accelerate to 70 mph and next thing you know you are at 120 plus and it feels like you teleported because your surroundings change so fast. I get that on my old zx11.
at last..!!!! :D this was the thing I was talking about when you was testing GTR1400 2yrs back, you said "More power? IMPOSSIBRU!!" :D here you have it :)
You've finally forgotten the walk around, but nice review anyway. Certainly one of yours funniest reviews. Funny? No, I meant scary, deadly, fast, insane, crazy... 😈
This was a fun video to watch. Mainly due to the reviewer's constant surprise, astonishment, and epithets because of the bike's acceleration! lol. (btw, in that really fast acceleration clip you did at the tunnel, you accelerated for about 8 seconds - not 2) Me, it has just a bit more hp than I want. 205 would be fine, but 207? Nah. Just a wee bit too much! ;)
Every thing you said was on the money however the 14's do handle very well slow or fast speed one just has to get the suspension tuned for the rider( That's a must )
What helps so so much is changing the back to a 55 instead of the 50. The tip is works great. Also if lean over the tank and get into the attack position she will maneuver wonderfully, but if you sit up it is harder to handle.
Depends on the track. I did a road race course on my 14R and had fun but was held back by its weight. Drag strip, it shines and later next month I'll let you know how Land Speed Racing is with it. I commute with it everyday too. I appreciated your vid, cager. Good stuff!
Actually, this kinda of bike is not the one that you want on the track, cuz is rly big and hard to corner ! I rode a HONDA CBR 1000RR Fireblade, and that's the kinda of bike that you want on the track ! Right now I ride a Suzuki GSXR 600, and future owner of Suzuki HAYABUSA, the rival of Kawa ZZR1400, those two are Sport Touring / Hypersport. I ride my bikes daily, and I only ride sporty ones ( Around 100 klm per day ). Best wishes ! Big fan here :) Grande abraço ! Finalmente uma mota que me identifique no teu canal !
+SeveNN RR I own a Busa and a 08 Fireblade. The blade is a scapel on the track but the Busa rules the street. Softer suspension and massive torque make it a back road brawler. Check my channel if you like.
Too much for the road, hell yeah, but fuck it's so much fun. Loved mine, couldn't get enough. Really easy to ride and steer and scary fast without any effort. First ride I twisted the throttle through a couple of changes and looked at the speedo; 180 kph. Fucking crazy. No effort, didn't feel like the bike was working at all and stability and effort feels like 70 when your doing 200. Amazing bike.
I never figured out what the big mystery to countersteering is. When I bought my first bike back in '86, a Suzuki GS550ES, it became apparent within a mile of riding that anything above parking lot speeds required pressing the bar in the direction you need to turn. Yet the way some of these vids tell it it's something that a lot of riders are clueless about.
You are a good rider; very competent. I think you covered about 100 Kilometers in that test ride...fast. I just bought one of these new and very much enjoyed your commentary.
If I ever have the money, this bike is definitely going to be my on my must-have list. Looks a like a good machine for both fun and long trips. To the reviewer: never forget, bikes, all bikes, all the way from a scooter to a Gold Wing and including the ZZR1400 must be counter-steered. Unfortunately the myth of leaning over, weight on footpegs and what not just keeps on living - but only because riders for some reason "feel" that the bike is heavy. That is true, however equally true is that on ANY two-wheeled bike no matter the size and weight - that little "push" in the opposite direction of the turn will every time make a turn snappy, aggressive and the bike responsive. Get that down to the marrow of your bones and any bike will respond instantly and without hesitation. I don't know why, most likely due to human nature, people tend to have most problems with counter-steering and looking where they turn. Every single time a turn is too wide or when the rider just "jumps out" of a turn the reasons are exactly the same: looking and counter-steering. There is of course a lot of other small details in the picture, but get those two things right and you'll easily beat most other riders. I have a 225 kg bike (me not included) and I promise you - if you counter-steer it then it becomes 10x as snappy and aggressive. Weight is an illusion in your head only.
Super sports = 600cc class. Hyper bike hyper tourer more like it. Never understood the 'hard to turn' thing. Turning is the same on all bikes we all counter steer or we don't turn. Zx14 turns just fine. Safety is about the rider not the machine. You maybe scary, deadly insane not the bike though. Enjoyed your charismatic ride. Thanks.
Awesome machine. You did a great job imparting the experience of riding this model. (I didn't know anyone even *_made_* a 1400cc motor!) I have to say that navigating all those "roundabout" intersections is scary enough for me, just to *_look_* at! USA roads are crazy enough! lol
Hilarious! When I die, I will be buried sitting on my ZX-14R. That acceleration is what makes my life special, and I never get tired of it. I agree, please have a LOT of previous sportbike experience before buying one. I am 58 years old and had 25 years on crotch rockets before buying mine. Just a logical progression. Only problem, need more horsepower!!!
i have friends with R1's etc and they're gutted they can't get near me on the track or the road, the zzr is awesome because it does it all, even 800 miles with no aches or pains in 12 hrs !!
You are right. this bike is a beast. My brother in law bought one of these and killed himself. But that was his first bike. So from no bike to 1400. Mad
Cager, I think that you misunderstood this motorcycle. This is definitely not a track bike, but more of sports/tourer, great for endless, wide straights and high speed turns. Its weight probably makes it feel very planted on those turns so thats why maybe you were suggesting it would be great for a track but it lacks the agility to throw it into corners and get it up fast, it would be counter productive to have such a whale of a bike on a track. I would suggest you testride & review a middleweight supersport, such as a yamaha R6, honda 600rr, kawasaki zx-6r and the likes. Much better for those narrower roads of Portugal, nimble as a supersport can be (due to handle bar leverage on a sports body position), oragasmic cornering capabilities and more than enough power to get you in trouble really quick. If you can get ahold of one of those take it to the twisties where you tried the gsx-1000 and you ll have a great experience for sure.
Want it to handle better loose 42 lbs of fat with the exhaust and add some Coffman Shorties. Also some 1.25 bar risers. Changes everything and makes the Dragon a little easier to tame. Till you hit 5th, then you are on your own regardless.
Fantastic bike.e for every purpose this is what I will get if and w when my nineteen year old Cbr1100xx .eve.r gives up but it's good as new right now.
@ cager you made my day ;o) watching the video and especially listening to your comments so funny!.saw it 5 times and still got rofl.... i love this monster bike, every time i listen the sounds like a big very bad wildcat purring and it feels so good make me feel good ... maybe im to crazy too ;o) i saw a lot of your videos after that but this is your best and cagerina is so sweet crazy too hope to see more from you both ;o) got a earwig after seen so much videos from your chanel, can you please upload the full song from Black Suit Zombie by Phazer, cause i only find a live track from Hard Rock Café Lisboa..
Owning this bike for 5 years, never felt problems with handling, leaning whatsoever, first week was a bit carefully, than got used to it, been at max speed in about eye blinking, (or exactly 17 sec) The bike doesn't really place in sportbike section, it's a hyper bike.
Owning an R1 and this beast - I can say that the R1 is most certainly more "flickable", more maneuverable on the street, and certainly more for the track. That said however, the ZX14 is no slouch; certainly takes more effort to drop a knee and takes more muscle to drop tight, whereas the R1 drops down at the speed of thought. That said, the -14 still very very good, good considering it weighs about 100 lbs heavier. However, in a straight line, the big Kwack is utterly untouchable - no R1, and no litrebike up to 2018, comes close to the bloody scary straight line acceleration. That is a feature of the longer wheelbase which allows more power down before lifting the front wheel. The long wheelbase and weight works in its favor. That is why the -14 is king of the dragstrip. It is also very comfortable, having rode it fast, slow, on congested streets and highways all day, it is very easy to ride and steer, and very comfortable. There is a reason why an 11 year old bikes is still selling strong despite minimal upgrades over the years.
This was hilarious , just like looking a jack-ass performance. Waching a man not enjoying it but trying anyway. You are a brave man. I have been riding a litle old bike (CB two-fifty) for three years now and I am not shure I could handle a 600-700cc, not while riding it but standing still. I am very short-legged. Watching you loosing control accelerating this monster makes me fear what I can find going to a bigger bike.
this behemoth is 1400cc's. a 600 is less than half of it. if you've been riding for 3 years, you would psobably do fine on a 600 or so sport/sport touring bike. I grew up racing motocross on a 250 two stroke, my first street bike was a FZ1, a 1000cc sport touring bike and I've been on it for over 2 years now with no problems at all.
Docker Andy So did you prefer this over the Hayabusa?
Agree 100% I own one, and they are fantastic.
I also did my practical driving exam on this bike... was easy.
@docker Andy, what did you do to the suspension? Can you explain it a little? I'm thinking about getting one, so I'd like to learn as much as I can about it. Thanks!
Took my ZZR every day to work.
Its really up to YOU - how YOU ride - how long YOU wanna live.
The bike itself is harmless.
So you mean ZZR can be used as "Everyday Bike" ?
I'm in awful dilemma betw. 2013 R1 and 2012+ ZZR :(
Yes, ZZR1400 can easily be used as "every day bike"..i've had 2006 ZZR and it was good bike to be used every day...And like Christian Andersson said, it's all up to you how you drive your bike...bikes are not dangerous, riders are..
This tester guy has never even learnt how to ride a fast bike. It's a good bike but nothing superb.
I`m gonna buy this for my first new beginner bike! Thanks Cager for the review!
+CagerOnTwoWheels I done my CBT on this bike.
+CagerOnTwoWheels That's not guaranteed but the point is well made.
I have only found a few people that can keep up with me on my ZX14R Ninja. It's a fantastic bike in Comfort and Handling. Thanks for the video
Cager is back! this is more like the vids we love from you. funny , enthusiastic and natural . keep them coming man. ride safe
K6UDA KTM 1290 super duke
Thank you that put me off! Was looking at it as my first big bike. Well done! you just saved at least 1 life
I've been riding 14s since 2007.
I am on my 3rd ZX14R. The best bike on the market... You don't ride enough, the ZX14R handling is fantastic.
You're one of the best videos I ever watched in my life you are something else brother
It's always funny watching people ride my bike for the first time! It makes me miss the first time I test rode it!
I do own the 2016 zx14r and Let me just say Its really not a beginner bike at all. She is one hell a bike even for seasoned riders. Now that being said the ABS and stopping power is amazing just like the speed. This bike will get you a few tickets if you don't watch it :)
Armedlegally
mate how much / long would you class a beginner? im tossing up between one of these and the gtr1400. ive got almost 4 years and 25k riding time. not alot compared to alot of guys and girls (hey I started late) but i am almost 40 and pretty much done all my stupid shite 😄
Armedlegally
thanks for the reply mate. i known its all about how much i twist the wrist, but that much power has me being cautious. i will be doing an advanced rider course though.
cheers
Armedlegally
took your advice mate and test rode 4 of them over the last week. I have put a deposit down on a new 2016 one today 😅
Congratulations Lee! Let us all know how you like it better yet get it on video and keep us posted!!
I always get a good laugh watching you! Bought a 2012 Zx 14R last year. Holy Moly is right! Suits me just fine.
Check the tire pressure usually the problem when it's hard to steer into a turn
lol love watching 1st time riders review these beasts, girly screams FTW ...
I love my 2016 ZX14R, and it is my daily ride (only vehicle i own). Beauty and the beast all in one. :)
7 years on and the zzr1400 is still plodding on,Im.Stiill smiling every time i go out.
Man... Stupendous job on this review.
heheheh.....Top comment
Try this review as well if you want funny... th-cam.com/video/On28JDNuNV4/w-d-xo.html
I just traded in my VFR800 in for one of these. Cager is right, this bike is a horrible idea. And I love it.
Most awesome bike I have ever owned. Will never get rid of it, unless they put a supercharger on the new one! I put slip ons and a lithium battery on mine and save about 35 pounds. Mine turns great by the way!
couple of great quotes from this one: "This is NOT the bike to be polite on --sorry."
"Fuck me, Fuck me....I'll have to edit this part out because I'm swearing too much." You forgot to edit that part out.
Great reviews! All from the Kawasaki :) but I still can't get one thing...why does anyone dislike videos like this?
That is the problem, the acceleration addiction is always there yelling "go, go, go"= tickets, tickets.
I'd like to see your videos in 1080p60 if possible any time soon , awesome video, congrats for doing so good with the channel !
I'd like to see you go 2000 kilometers on that Aprilia you have on your cover.
+john jay you're getting weird buddy......
Is it good for off road?
Probably the only zzr 1400 rider that's not a fan . Had mine around 2 months . Bought it from a Muppet in Carlisle . Done 2000 miles on it . 2010 plate . 45000 on clock . 1 owner from new . Full Kawasaki dealer service history . Just had new front discs replaced one was fractured. Fuel pump shot . Back bairing shot . 2 new calipers S old ones shot . Bill for over 1100 pounds .
Selling the pile of crap .
I tour on this bike often, and as a sports tour bike I love it.
Mainly due to the reviewer's constant surprise, astonishment, and epithets because of the bike's acceleration! lol. (btw, in that really fast acceleration clip you did at the tunnel, you accelerated for about 8 seconds - not 2)
Me, it has just a bit more hp than I want. 205 would be fine, but 207? Nah. Just a wee bit too much! ;)
Every thing you said was on the money however the 14's do handle very well slow or fast speed one just has to get the suspension tuned for the rider( That's a must )
Great test ride is that in Portugal?
They turn like a dream, you must of been riding scooters
I agree with you... she is THE BEAST.
What helps so so much is changing the back to a 55 instead of the 50. The tip is works great. Also if lean over the tank and get into the attack position she will maneuver wonderfully, but if you sit up it is harder to handle.
Once you get used to it, it is very easy to ride in most situations.
+Bobby Backmarker Indeed ! I've subbed u ! ;) Nice ride.
SeveNN RR Cheers! Hope you'll enjoy the upcoming content.
Funny and helpful review. I love my ZX14r.
Yo cager! You make me laugh at your reactions. Awesome review. :D
Love from Singapore.
I really enjoyed this as I'm about to buy one
can't wait to see you hop on a Ducati Scrambler, seems like your kind of bike and you are the right height for it.
Beautiful looking machine.
I never figured out what the big mystery to countersteering is. When I bought my first bike back in '86, a Suzuki GS550ES, it became apparent within a mile of riding that anything above parking lot speeds required pressing the bar in the direction you need to turn. Yet the way some of these vids tell it it's something that a lot of riders are clueless about.
lovely sportstourer. not good on the track, but awesome at 260 on the autobahn.
+SuperVistaprint Just wish it had a longer service interval for longer tours.
I've been there and done that.ha
Supervistaprint disagree ! Very smooth bike on track
These are magnificent road bikes. I have one. Yes you do need to ride them with mature confidence. Then they make perfect sense.
Hehe... Cager speechless. Great review, real cager-ish this time. Finally!
That last run in the tunnels was about 6.85-seconds to go from 46mph to 143mph (75kph to 230kph), 4th gear only, starting at 3,400rpm engine speed. :)
You are a good rider; very competent. I think you covered about 100 Kilometers in that test ride...fast. I just bought one of these new and very much enjoyed your commentary.
Dont joke with this bike , it is like bullet , bro 👍
i started my motorbike experience on a zx12, it was a great and so fast bike... never dared to go full throttle. Zzr1400 is great as well.
Thanks.
I love your reviews, 'holy moly, what just happened', brilliant :-)
DervMan when you said it made you dizzy I remember a few times I almost felt like I was going to black out
17:45 my favourite Cager moment ever!
really cool video
Awesome machine. You did a great job imparting the experience of riding this model. (I didn't know anyone even *_made_* a 1400cc motor!) I have to say that navigating all those "roundabout" intersections is scary enough for me, just to *_look_* at! USA roads are crazy enough! lol
5:30 So not only does it give you a heart attack, it also scrambles your brain :)
Not a track bike.. it's very comfortable for normal use. You need to ride a proper sport bike.
+dbauernf like an r6 for the beginning ;) welcome to the real sport bikes.
+dbauernf king of the drag strip.
True..if his back wasn't aching after this review, it's not a track bike.
lovely bikes but no better than Japanese in the practical sense
i have friends with R1's etc and they're gutted they can't get near me on the track or the road, the zzr is awesome because it does it all, even 800 miles with no aches or pains in 12 hrs !!
As soon as I read the title, I knew this was going to be good!
Hyperspace-bar! Hahahaha!
Coming out of that tunnel is blindingly bright, I hope your visibility was better than what we see thru the camera.
Owning this bike for 5 years, never felt problems with handling, leaning whatsoever, first week was a bit carefully, than got used to it, been at max speed in about eye blinking, (or exactly 17 sec) The bike doesn't really place in sportbike section, it's a hyper bike.
track bike ...lol , its an everyday bike in Australia
Nice review quite funny I'm now saving for one Mabe I'll see you in Portugal at some point 😬ride safe 👍🏻
I like that it broke your brain for a moment and you didn't know where you were
Owning an R1 and this beast - I can say that the R1 is most certainly more "flickable", more maneuverable on the street, and certainly more for the track.
+homedegel SV 650 is easy enough to ride with a fairly low seat height.
I so want this bike !
Update- Finally got one and must say it’s an awesome machine!
