i used to make a lot of jewellery with beads back in the early 2000s and i got a huge wave of nostalgia when you were showing all those beautiful beads!
lock sport sounds very interesting and like something i'd enjoy as I do love puzzles.. and yes I've knit and crocheted with beads! love it. Right now though I'm making the Corfu Bag finally and it's for a friend, I've been wanting to make it for a few years and finally got the courage and I've realized it's not as hard as it looks! just takes patience. .. I'm also making the Sprite doll while watching this while waiting for more yarn to finish the bag, which is also a gift for the same person.
For locksport I would suggest starting with the FNG from covert instruments its cheap and a good way to gauge whether you want to jump down that rabbit hole.
I have never knit with beads (yet) but I’m very interested in doing it. I even bought a bunch of beads to do it, but just haven’t taken the plunge to use them yet! I think it’s just going to take the right project to inspire me. Excited to see what you do with yours! I don’t think I have FOMO for NYSW, or that’s what I tell myself. I love yarn/wool festivals for the social aspect but I don’t know where I would even put more stash right now. I’m even looking into selling my completed hand spun just to offload stash at a reasonable pace. But ah let’s face it I still want to go!
ooooh would love to hear more about this 1940s cardigan, I imagine you have to grade it al little for fit, unless its your size, either way that is a cool project.
I’m currently working on two cardigans, one for my mom and one for myself. For myself I’m making the Champagne Cardigan and decided I would try knitting it in the round and steeking open the front at the end. I definitely don’t hate purling, but my hands do thank me for not having two flat stockinette projects going at once 😂
I, for one, would LOVE to hear more about your new hobby, did you say it's called lock sport? I think that's very interesting! I swear I say to myself like every 6 months, I should learn how to pick locks, haha.

I love a bit of nostalgia, I love how little details can spark such strong feelings!
i love the solution of asymmetrical color striping on the sleeve for your son's sweater - playful and cool-looking :)
I’m so glad it caught your eye, I really like how it turned out 🖤

I feel you on the stash and NYSW, I definitely don't want to add any more yarn to my stash, but I always love a good yarn festival!
I'm working on a 1940s cardigan from Call the Midwife, a Solstice Sweater and I'm designing and knitting a cowl as a Xmas present.

Nicole I highly recommend the FNG kit from covert instruments its cheap and a good way to decide if its a hobby for you.
I am currently on a cardigan for my husband.
oh also i'm looking for a all mohair cardigan pattern. I have a specific style in my mind-mainly clouds.
I've been seeing so many lovely mohair cardigans lately, you should share a picture of the style you have in mind if you have one!
Hey knitting bestie! What are you working on?
