one more thing not mentioned is that static projectiles reset hit enemy's standard s to 0 no matter what it was before, meaning they can allow your standard weapons to deal more dps
So for a non-summoner it's a good idea to have static summons just to boost your DPS? Sounds wack as hell, but also pretty cool. Definitely should be in the video.
@Cute___E So this video goes over every form of s: global (briefly, where a single hit from a piercing weapon disables the ability for other piercing weapons to connect) Static (immunity to attacks "of the same type;" aka, the same minion for summons) Local (immunity to Iframes from the same _entity,_ so the same bullet/minion cannot rehit until the s are up, but another minion of the same type has no problem). We highlighted that static s are still on several minions, some for balancing purposes (mini-Spaz would be obscenely broken). Attacks with static s on impact reduce _other_ static counts to 0; effectively, this "resets" the timer for other attacks, allowing the same "type" to rehit earlier. Think if you had a bunch of Optic Staff Spazs, if you somehow had a piercing gun that fired as fast as they all attacked the target, the Spazs' would be able to ignore the static s they inflict for a _much_ higher DPS, as each bullet would let them rehit the target (even if they're still in contact with it from the same dash).
As someone who mainly plays summoner, this video was incredibly helpful. I’ve known about minion I-frames, but not the specifics of how they work. Thanks for the explanation, it was so clear and helpful.
this video is so fucking right. this is one of my VERY few complaints with terraria, i don't want to stress out about which minions i'm using bc of local vs static i-frames, the only deciding factors should be minion AI & dps. a game mechanic that the game itself doesn't tell you about shouldn't have so much impact on the game, not knowing about this would make playing summoner horrible because your upgrades would be doing *nothing* at times, for seemingly no reason. relogic please i'm begging on my knees this shit has been bothering me for months now
This is a bad mechanic. The problem with this is that the game never tells you about this. If you are a new player you may use x3 or x4 frogs thinking that you are doing x3 or x4 damage but instead its a x1, same thing with imp staff or spider staff. The game should be intuitive: More summonings, more damage, or AT LEAST it should explain to you how this mechanic works. Besides it's complicated because even if you know about this mechanic you don't know how many minioms you can have before they stop each other and searching that data in the internet every time you get a weapon can be very annoying. I see two posible solutions: 1. deleting the i-frames mechanics and balancing the dmg around that, 2. putting a limit about how many minioms of X weapon you can have. F.e. you can only summon 1 frog, 3 spiders, X imps, Y optic staff. That way you don't have to worry at all about i-frames since the game already "guides you" to not fall into that trap, besides it has some coolness in it, you are a summoner, you don't go there with an army of imps, you go with an army of different monsters with different functions.

English isn't my native language, and I'm kind of new to the game. What's the lesson to keep in my mind, the conclusion ? To use differents minions, because they stack poorly ?
Only the Flinx staff, Slime Staff, Vampire Frog Staff, Imp Staff, Spider Staff and Optic Staff should be mixed. Any other summons can be stacked effectively. Also this is for singular targets. If there’s multiple enemies it’s fine to stack.
you this both sucks and cool simultaniously. i really like how this thing encourages us to mix summons, but on the other hand that obviously shouldn't work like that. i really want terraria to have some deep game mechanics like that for every class. that'll be so cool if they make some another mechanic to encourage us to mix minions.

@@damnthisisabadname for you to miss that, you would have to have been not listening or watching for like a solid minute, but you still somehow knew he was talking about spiders.
@@kaffii hi kaffi
So 1 frog and 1 finch is better than 1000 frogs huh…
And my dumbass running with 3 frogs, although it should be good for the eater right? Different segments and such.
Like couldn't the dash attack have something that states. That it can't hit the same enemy multiple times in one attack then you could switch it to local
So does this mean the hornet staff is the best pre hard mode summon
no
just means you should summon mix
what texture pack chabges terraprism? it looks very good
I have a question. Does static i-frames block the same weapon on multiplayer? Lets say me and my friend are using last prim, do both of us hit or we block each other?
Yes, you'll be blocking each other.
@@borico62 That's honestly pretty garbage. If me and my friend want to bully bosses with the same weapons we should be allowed to.
I have lightning hands, but a phone that loses long distance races against snails.
nice
What's the staff of the mechworm syndrome?
EoL daytime is easiest with summoner, lower defense of the class doesn't matters anymore because it oneshots you anyways and you focus more on dodging since you have minions
Someone send this to redigit before 1.4.5
You know what's more important?
You.
English isn't my native language, and I'm kind of new to the game.
What's the lesson to keep in my mind, the conclusion ?
To use differents minions, because they stack poorly ?
don't play as a summoner at all
@@The-Third-Rail What? 😂
Only the Flinx staff, Slime Staff, Vampire Frog Staff, Imp Staff, Spider Staff and Optic Staff should be mixed. Any other summons can be stacked effectively. Also this is for singular targets. If there’s multiple enemies it’s fine to stack.

Yrimir...?
Wait so stardust dragon isnt pure garbage for mages anymore?
every minions should be local
Your voice reminds me of Cartman
you this both sucks and cool simultaniously. i really like how this thing encourages us to mix summons, but on the other hand that obviously shouldn't work like that. i really want terraria to have some deep game mechanics like that for every class. that'll be so cool if they make some another mechanic to encourage us to mix minions.
This explains why som minions ar just usles and other godtear
Why are these videos that absolutely noone asked for so interesting
i get static for some balancing reasons but is there ANY reason to use global immunity?
