to be honest I am quite surprised you are not using Soul Charge as much.

Azwel is an interesting character. I find his style unique and sometimes frustrating but he is still fun overall. Wish he had a tad more combo potential than he currently has but I digress. Hes only a placeholder until they announce my old main Algol.
I find it difficult to create space with azwel since you need a moment to swap stances, often times using soul charge or the axe launcher/fanservice move (B and Y on xbox). also the backstep with double tap back B for the shield and spear which has GI and so does the spear variant on the B and Y stance move. If these are things you already know apologies.
Lol I made a custom outfit for Azwel that’s based around the cultist robes with his underwear and no pants so when he soul charges he goes from heavy robes to a speedo and Raphael’s knee high boots in an instant
that would be majestic to watch
Some tricks I've seen success with for Aswel:
1. When you've trained people to sidestep using the spear, 66A can really mess people up. Azwel throws his axe forward for a horizontal ranged attack.
2. 88A or 22A is absolutely amazing if you get the lethal hit -- which happens often if you counter a high attack or catch a sidestep. You can cancel the recovery with K, but if it was a lethal hit you get a guaranteed K combo from it.
3. Sword stance BK can catch people off guard with its excessive range -- it makes a great way to move in on opponents
4. Sword stance BK also chains into super
5. Alternatively, K->ABB-> Super works to catch the launch too and can be done from the lethal hit on point #2
6. 6K is a 50/50, you can push A/B for Mid/High attacks or K again for a fast low kick, 4K can do the same thing but the opponent has to chase you to land it
7. Axe stance BK works with the opponent on the ground when their head is pointed toward you to initiate the command grab
8. If you train the opponent with 66B, you can catch them off guard with the 3BB combo as the animations are similar
9. When the opponent sidesteps your 1BB, if they try to punish with a slower attack you can sometimes catch them with the AOE of Spear stance BK
10. Aswell's Soul Charge can add a ton of pressure to a fight. His super is difficult to land reliably, so it can be better to use SC just to make them panic.
I’ve been playing Azwell since launch. I think he’s very solid but gets easily overwhelmed by close range aggressive characters because the startup on most of his normals are slow. For example, Groh and Mitsurugi feel like 2 of his hardest matchups.

This was some really good Azwel gameplay! You don't see him too much but he does seem to be at least B+ tier and a lot of people don't know how to fight him.
I main him, he's crazy strong.
I heard he is being abused.
His biggest problem, in my opinion, is how slowly many of his attacks come out. Couple that with most K moves not actually being quick-fire kicks, it leads to an easily-punishable character if you know what to look for.
@@WhiteManOnCampus Yeah, he is faster with certain attacks if you are already in that stance, but not having fast kicks means that he needs to use 2A and GI a lot more.

Could you make a guide on fighting fundamentals? Like explain your thought process when you say you shouldn't use some moves. Love your vids!
Its frame data, there was a awesome video on fighting, I'll look for it... But basicly fighting games is a game of taking turns, u go-opponeny goes and so on...
Everytime u attack u'll go + or - a certain amount of frames, if u go minus 10 lets say Nd ur enemy has an attack that can go -6 u would lose, so he would be able to attack u (also known as a punish), if he does a attack with a lot of lag (frames) u can do a big punish and combo off that

Azwell really needs to utilize his stances, but I always felt weird going into them at first cuz they all have that sort of delay, but once you get used to it, damn he's fun and wiley

If you go into sword stance and connect your sword you throw (B+K when in sword stance) you are able to connect that into super

I always said Noctis would have been a much better fit in this game, his moves are similar to Azwel's and they could utilize his weapons much better. 2B already looks like a Tekken character so she belongs in that game.

He's difficult to control in my opinion.
At first, but you get used to him fairly quickly.
Azwel is total crap in this game. It ruins it. Too much flash and no visible weapon. Some of his moves are like WTF. Total missunderstanding with legacy characters. Think of him like more elaborate Necrid or Algol that nobody played. If Azwel was a DLC, only a few sub-human would buy it and even less play it.
