- There's no time to stop at Barnsley A&E as patients are rushed into the emergency room. Doctors and nurses help patients in need and work tirelessly to save lives. One patient arrives into recess with blackened legs and doctors examine him to understand his illness. The patient's family sit beside him worried for his health.
The doors of the Barnsley A&E department are open every hour of the day. The reality series allows for a peek inside the hearts and minds of the medical emergency teams, and how they deal with critical situations revolving around people's lives and illnesses. The close-knit team exchanges typical Yorkshire banter and humor to aid them with getting through their often long and tough days.

I always make sure to make things easy for the doctors whenever I’m in the E.R. To think that they walk into your room chipper and so welcoming when right before they lost a patient is so mind blowing to me. You definitely have to be a certain type of person to do what they do. Mad respect to all first responders 🖤
That old guy Bert is the kind of guy that my dad always just hated to be around. My dad was a WWII veteran and lived to be 98. He would never grab a nurse and kiss her on the neck like Bert did. My dad always said that men never change. If an old man, veteran or not,98 or not, was grabbing onto girls for hugs that he didn’t even know, then he was probably doing it when he was younger and when he was younger it would have been very offensive. I guess my dad just believed in more respect than old Bert.
I agree. That made the nurse feel uncomfortable 😕. Not appropriate at any age.
ALL OF THE STAFF AND PATIENTS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL WONDERFUL PEOPLE
94 year old Bert has a great outlook!
Yes a rerun BUT, I love the narrator and the opening "in the heart of Yorkeshire". I always watch!
Yorkshire accent is cool.
Love the seniors in this video and the staff are wonderful!!
I’m with you Jane. The bane of my existence in L&D is always trying to find pillows. I swear our patients and families steal them for what reason I don’t know because they’re flat and plastic.
I love Jane!!
Thanks for your channel. Love this series.
I wish they would put the filming time period on here. I'm curious what year it was filmed.
Great work under pressure
I can’t wait to see your hospital videos. I love them.
I don’t think most people are watching this show to listen to all the filler about bed shortages, ambulances waiting, getting tea and all the wasted time on chit chat. They are watching to hear interesting medical stories and the conclusions.
Bless these wonderful people the USA could take some lessons from these fine people🦩🦩🪽🪽🪽
These people know that they’re being filmed. If American healthcare professionals were being filmed, you’d see the exact same care and compassion.
There needs to be a way to get more beds in hospitals across the uk because hospitals are getting full of patients every day and running out of beds but hospitals would need to be expanded in size for more beds or a different solution.
Like the channel, tyvm. Jane is lovely
Pearl is the best.
She’s really clever
This is a re-run. 😢
Uncontrolled diabetes and obesity, not good. His legs!
I guess there's one upside to not having free health care. It seems like people smoke like chimneys in the UK. In the US, being a smoker makes for higher medical insurance premiums. That convinces a lot of people to stop. So much of the costs of the NHS are for alcohol and tobacco use. Taxes need to go way up on those items to offset health costs.
In the USA most of our health issues are obesity related
@flowerpower3618 : You are absolutely correct. It is the most destructive issue in our country. 😕🇺🇲😔
what would convince the enormous population of enormous people in the US to stop eating. Should taxes go way up on food then? Never seen so many obese people in my life......and people with no food control.
I think this is what they mean by “morbid” obesity.
Why were Roy’s children not aware of how sickly he is? He didn’t get that way overnight!
Look at their faces. I've never seen more vacant, bland, uninterested faces. The pair of them look like they don't care about their dad.
@@britishbobcat2098Maybe they don’t care. Not every parent is a good parent and Roy doesn’t look like he cares much about himself either.
rest in peace lillian😇🥰🙏🫂🕯
Harriet has the most beautiful eyes and they’re hiding behind glasses.
Yorkshire Wirst hospitals in UK
Disapointed that this is a repeat
Repeat :(
Alcoholic doctor 😢
I don’t watch this show looking for the volunteer.
She probably wouldn't care. She essentially works a full-time job for no pay, filling in and providing valuable help. She tidies and organizes, makes tea for staff and for patients, provides positive morale boosters. I think she's an inspiration. There are generally support staff that aren't doctors or nurses. She does it for free.
