I always make sure to make things easy for the doctors whenever I’m in the E.R. To think that they walk into your room chipper and so welcoming when right before they lost a patient is so mind blowing to me. You definitely have to be a certain type of person to do what they do. Mad respect to all first responders 🖤

That old guy Bert is the kind of guy that my dad always just hated to be around. My dad was a WWII veteran and lived to be 98. He would never grab a nurse and kiss her on the neck like Bert did. My dad always said that men never change. If an old man, veteran or not,98 or not, was grabbing onto girls for hugs that he didn’t even know, then he was probably doing it when he was younger and when he was younger it would have been very offensive. I guess my dad just believed in more respect than old Bert.

I was standing in a queue at the shops once, and felt something strange in my hair. I turned around to find a little old man just running his fingers through my hair. He looked at me and said "Oh, I'm so sorry, I just couldn't help myself..." Freaked me the heck out....! If a young guy had done it, I would probably have smacked him for it, but since he was obviously pretty frail... I just kinda laughed it off and left as fast as I could.
Your dad was probably right; but I do think that older folks lose some of the internal barriers that mentally stop them from doing stuff. Either because they aren't as with it as they were, or because they know they'll get away with it.

"Hopefully be fine to go to School in the morning" No he will not! Have you ever worked in a school or Nursery and seen children coming in with horrible barking coughs? They don't concentrate and they infect the other children, some of which might have Asthma so croup is really horrible for them. The Nursery local to me doesn't allow children to come in with Croup, it's against their sickness policy. Not fair on the other children and staff and of course the sick child who should be at home resting when they have such a horrible cough. Local teachers will be cursing that doctor.

I love the way the staff treat the patients with compassion and respect. You know Bert with his overly friendly way about him was probably always like that throat his life. My mom said there was a name for men like that in her day and that was a lecher.
I know that Bert probably just feels or has always felt he was just friendly with people, but the thing with that is that to be pulled into a man like that isn’t right unless it’s your husband or your boyfriend, but I mean that would freak me out a little bit too much. I’d be very uncomfortable being pulled into somebody’s body like that. It’s kind of the behaviour you’d see on New Year’s Eve from somebody that drank too much.

Just because you're 94 years old, a veteran, does NOT give a man the right to grab a woman like that and force a kiss on her or discuss her looks. That was appalling. He'll be the type to demand the prettiest nurse hold his urinal when he pees.

I guess there's one upside to not having free health care. It seems like people smoke like chimneys in the UK. In the US, being a smoker makes for higher medical insurance premiums. That convinces a lot of people to stop. So much of the costs of the NHS are for alcohol and tobacco use. Taxes need to go way up on those items to offset health costs.
