Nice first find, the brooch. That vintage opener is great. Lovely little 3pence coin. I love those old keys. That second ‘pendant’ is actually a piece of a Rosary. Pretty green marble. The upcycle was awesome.
The wood/lead thing looks similar to a lace bobbin. They are used to hand weave lace by hand or maybe that was for fixing lace in a factory. Cool finds.
I can't even slightly disagree, that lampbox clock is the best bit of upcycling I can recall you ever showing us. I honestly can't even think of a better example, from this or any other channel, of someone taking a piece of crud covered and rusted holey junk and transforming it into a truly unique and beautiful item that I'd be happy to own. If I wasn't so skint I'd be having that! Oh, and the rest of the video was a fun watch too...
wow, LOVE the syteampunk upcycle! You have a fantastic creative approach to presenting your finds. Random thoughts: I really enjoy the way you add/edit-in the cleaned up items after you find them (rather than tacking them all at the end). Also, I really enjoyed this DIFFERENT view of the foreshore. Also, I really enjoy it when you add the cat(s) at the end of your videos. Also, I am aways amazed at the very tiny interesting things you find!

Hey Si, just an idea, ever thought of doing a little live Q&A on ere? I'm sure your fans and followers have loads of questions about your adventures and mudlarking they'd love to ask you! Maybe set it up in your gorgeous garden (although there is the risk of being upstaged by the cats and chickens!)🤣 Great finds btw. I adored the art deco bottle and you've outdone yourself with the upcycle! 👍
I believe the pendant you found at around 9:27 to have been part of a catholic rosary. The three eyelets in the pendant would allow for the beads attached. This was a fun adventure and so good to see Nikola joining you. Thanks for sharing!
What a nice surprise it was to see Nicola there!! You found some really great items. Good for you!! I’m watching your old episodes so I see all your treasures. Onto the next video!!💃🏼💃🏼
The shard you found at 7:06 is from a keramic bottle of Lucas Bols, Jenever distiller in Amsterdam. He started distilling when glass was still a luxury item and so those stone bottles "kruik" was the way to bottle his product. Actually still does. Bols is a big brand now exporting all over the world! In Russia Bols vodka is known to be quality.
Its sad watching you both walk away from ceramic and stoneware bottles and pot. We don't have such things in South Africa and would love to have some. Those that are selling on Etsy when you can find them, are expensive with our exchange rate. Please make some of us happy by picking them up and making use of them again.
Hi Si, I had a lighter exactly that model given to me in 1969, then I gave up smoking in 1971 and never smoked again. I loved the silver three penny bits when young in the 40s but even then they were disappearing. The rusty lamp now clock was great. I think it looked a bit like the sort of torch that policemen wore on their belts, right shape but I could not see the bit on the back to slot it on the belt. And I must be very archaic because I used Airwick fresheners when a young married.
Right away when I see "secret location" I start looking for clues in the video. What a wonderful place to medlark. So interesting how you found a lot of jewelry pieces, not only do you have a good eye for them but how could there be so many? It really is a secret place!!

Hi Si, Nicola, headed for another adventure I see. A secret location 😮. Very cool. Si, that piece of “jewelry” at time 9:08, I’m almost certain is the first medal on Rosary beads. One set of links hangs from the bottom hole with beads on it.The other two holes connect to beaded necklace. I believe the face you see is the face of Virgin Mary”the ghostly face “. I’m Catholic, I don’t know if you know what a Rosary is. Look it up you’ll see. That’s old because of the wire held the beads. It is definitely a blessed object. Very cool. Loved the up cycle. Another brilliant installment. The little religious pendant that you thought might be an earring is the central piece of a rosary. So the figure is likely Mary. 'Vade Mecum' Latin for Take Me with You' - some sort of médecine ? I think that knobbly wooden stick with brass at the ends is an oriental drawer pull. Very nice. I think the mud is anaerobic too, like the Thames, so not much deterioration. What a place - jam-packed full of things. The S for Simon is a military insignia, the two loops that hold it in the uniform are squashed flat.

Hi Si, the little Madonna charm you found reads ‘Riccordo’ on the back….its Italian, and translates to ‘I remember’ meaning the buyer probably bought it at a church or a religious place while on holiday as a fond memory keepsake…
Edit: THE UPCYCLE IS SPECTACULAR!! ❤❤❤ ‐------------------------------- If-You-Know-Comment-Below Dept. 1. The "pendant"/"earring" is a rosary centerpiece. I wonder if there were any little beads lying around? BVM (the Blessed Virgin Mary) is almost certainly the "ghostly" 😁 image on one side. I make rosaries and love coming across vintage pieces like this. 2. The earlier saint medal immediately made me think of St Clare, but there are a bazillion female saints... I don't think it was BVM - the clothing/veil was a little too medieval to me & she seems to be looking out a window (?) - but I've been wrong before. Sigh... 3. The smallish wooden tube thing with the "flanges" (I think that's what you called them) looks like a pointer to me, but only if it extends (of course 😀). Before laser pointers (and endless fun for millions of cats worldwide), there were extending pointers you could use when teaching/presenting.
I was hoping that you would use 30:48 that part in the lens hole and backlight it with a nice green, aqua, or blue LED light. But as a desk clock, it is very cool.
Great fun to watch, wish I were there but in USA. You found the center medal for a rosary -- medal with a bit of chain and three links,; and that brown marble which you called glass might have been a German Bennington -- imported here mid 19th century to WWI -- a glazed pottery marble. The browns are most common, then blues, and you can identify Bennington by the bumps like moon craters left where marbles touched one another in the kiln. Pinks are valuable here, green can be too. Liked the ring you found and the wonderful piece you created. (Was that a transistor radio once? It's the shape of ones we had in the 1960s and early 70s. Alas I'm that old, bit creaky for mudlarking.) Happy hunting!
That's a torch, my dad had one like that. It does come apart with a latch so you can change the battery. I'm 100% sure he's still got it. Good memories :)
The wooden stick is a pencil from victorian age ( its a guess), Si, you are so creative, most of us would never be able to look at a piece of metal, round it, cut it, bend it and use it for a corner of a beautiful clock creation.
really have enjoyed how you've gone from upcycling to creating your own art. When you made the corners by cutting a circle and then a slit. You made it into a 3 corner pyramid in a way. Which was an interesting bit of geometry at play. lost about 180 degrees in the process.., but that's life
I am impressed with how you upcycled that rusty old box. I really didn't think it would work but your very creative and it turned out great. Hi to Nelly. 👋

3. The smallish wooden tube thing with the "flanges" (I think that's what you called them) looks like a pointer to me, but only if it extends (of course 😀). Before laser pointers (and endless fun for millions of cats worldwide), there were extending pointers you could use when teaching/presenting.
Sweet finds! So good to actually see Mud Bagger's face.
I was hoping that you would use 30:48 that part in the lens hole and backlight it with a nice green, aqua, or blue LED light. But as a desk clock, it is very cool.
Great bling finds Si. It was nice seeing you out mudlarking with Nicola. The upcycled clock looked fantastic!😊
That “poor man’s ring” you found, would be spectacular if it were cast in silver. All the lovely putting and texture would come up a treat.
That's a torch, my dad had one like that. It does come apart with a latch so you can change the battery. I'm 100% sure he's still got it.
Good memories :)
Cheers pal 👍🏻🐾🧡
The wooden stick is a pencil from victorian age ( its a guess), Si, you are so creative, most of us would never be able to look at a piece of metal, round it, cut it, bend it and use it for a corner of a beautiful clock creation.
Thanks so much!👍🏻🐾🧡
Lots of nice finds and a wonderful upcycle, thanks SI!
Cheers Debbie👍🏻🐾🧡
Now you made mudlarking very interesting by creating such a beautiful sculptural clock. Good job.
really have enjoyed how you've gone from upcycling to creating your own art.
When you made the corners by cutting a circle and then a slit. You made it into a 3 corner pyramid in a way. Which was an interesting bit of geometry at play. lost about 180 degrees in the process.., but that's life
Cheers pal👍🏻🐾🧡
Love the Simon shirt. My son had the original game back in the late 70’s. 😊 The clock is definitely my favorite upcycle.Cheers
Si, great upcycle🥰 The SI bit looks to me like a dollar sign💰. And my guess is, that it was part of a money clip.
By far my favorite upcycle I've seen you do brother! I think you've inspired me to upcycle some of my metal detecting finds.
Cheers dude!! Yeah do it!!
At 4:19 On the back there is write “RICORDO” in italian languages that means “memory” like “souvenir” sorry for my english, i’m italian .
