    Hey we did almos the exact same thing last winter. Only extra mile we went was I spray foamed ours. It is intended to be permanent at our home so I hit the outside with spray foam and then put a couple layers of fiberglass on that to protect it. It works great!

    • @1620GarageAndFarm
      @1620GarageAndFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome !! We would have done the foam as well for the winter. But we ended up getting a free hot tub from a friend last fall.

      This was a great for us, we ran it all last summer. We then got lucky and scored a free hot tub from a friend. So this has been retired.

      It did...I just need to research how to run the pump via solar.

    • @1620GarageAndFarm
      @1620GarageAndFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      Should be very easy with an inverter. Harbor Freight or Amazon will have them

    • @angelzubia5058

      Question fir you: instead of drilling holes on the side of the tank, could you have used a pipe over the edge and into the water to pump it out?

    • @1620GarageAndFarm
      @1620GarageAndFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@angelzubia5058 yes you could totally do that as well !!

      Nice, I used the two part epoxy to seal mine back up. along with a torch to heat up a little... It never leaked again !!

    going to do a "no so hot tub" using that same stock tank style. Local to me about a dollar a gallon.

    Are these safe to fill up with hot water? Are they food grade? Do they leach chemicals when exposed to hot water?

    • @1620GarageAndFarm
      @1620GarageAndFarm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are animal safe as they are sold @ tractor supply as feeders. And I don’t thing the hot water makes the plastic any hotter than it sitting out in the sun in the summer with it being black. I have since taken this apart it was fun for a couple of months.

    How much propane did you use to heat up the 300 gal? Think about getting wood burner before i saw your video.

    • @1620GarageAndFarm
      @1620GarageAndFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      I ran this for a few months. It was not to bad on propane. But I did not insulate or build a cover for it. I think I used a bottle a week with heavy use.

      I scored that from an old soft tub. But you could make one pretty easy.

  • @kevinspage
    @kevinspage 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Pump intake at tub can suck body parts in. A kid died when he got down on tub drain feeding pump. Horribly it sucked his insides out. Make sure you have a guard that will not alloy someone to get up against and seal to the tub feed to the pump. It looks like your just using the pump to circulate at low pressure instead of drive tub jets so this should not be a problem for your setup. Its normal to have two feeds from tub to pump so it one gets blocked it will draw from the other without damage. Hydraulics have lots of force.

    • @1620GarageAndFarm
      @1620GarageAndFarm  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could run it in the winter, but I would recommend insulating it.. it would consume a ton of propane.. thanks for checking it out !!

    and your rubber hose from home
    depot - i think that has a temperature limit that would not allow for 100+ F water temperatures.
