Played through it twice, still, the intro and it's music is almost better than the whole game. The music alone is something phenomenal, the whole feeling of this huge new galaxy journey realised in sound for everyone to witness. Absolutely genius.

The game is a massive dissapointment compared to the trilogy, the only good things are soundtrack (especially the ambience music) and planet exploration. The graphics are pretty, so it is sort of enjoyable to explore the different planets (not the jungle planet tho). The frozen one was really cool, it feels so dead and cold and empty and surreal, but then the whole game flops on its face when you interact with any of the missions or npc's - they absolutely fucking suck, characters have zero personality and they all look like freaks (atleast they did back when game launched, guess they patched a lot of it). TLDR: Decent open world game, very average Mass Effect game.

To be fair, it was worse with ME3 and its "weird and colored" ending, the trilogy was very well built and no matter how improved the game system was in Andromeda (it was good, I enjoyed the new mechanics), the main point of this franchise was the story, something where Andromeda disappointed fans. The idea of avoiding the "colored ending" from Mass Effect 3 was well executed sending us 3M years away, but the story... My advice: I hope you avoided spoilers, the original trilogy has too many plot twists and WTF moments you must experience.

And most of all the connections you make with your crew... by the end of ME3 they feel like friends or family. You never want it to end and you want to come through it all alive, with them... been playing videogames for 30 years and the only games that made me feel like that were ME and RDR2. I wouldn't even call Andromeda a Mass Effect game... story and characters are completely bland and forgettable, just a generic sci-fi game with good combat and production values (except character animation).
I'm finally picking Andromeda up again after 4 years. I abandoned it cause of the performance and bugs. But now it will kneel to my 9900k and RTX 3080!

This has to be one of my favorite intros in videogames. ME1 intro is great, specially when you are starting your second playthrough and you know what is this man (or woman) going to do, ME2 is also good. ME3 is pure depression (in a good way) but MEA is just powerful, the setup of being a traveler, seeing Earth for the last time, going to the edge of the solar system and going to the arc thats going to get you and 100,000 other travelers like you to a whole new galaxy. Its amazing. The rest of the game might not be as great and awesome as the intro is but its alright. Its a good Mass Effect spin off

Namely because if humanity alone had the resources to build something almost on par with the Citadel BEFORE the Reapers invaded, taking the Reapers on should have been WAY easier.
Depending on everyone's choices during the first 3 games, I wonder what the galaxy is like now after all that time. There would have been another 634 years worth of advancements, they could more that likely have beaten them to Andromeda with the current tech in the galaxy

While I certainly had my issues with MEA, it’s a far better game than it got credit for. If you allow yourself to stop comparing it to the original trilogy and just let it be it’s own thing, you’ll find that it’s quite fun.

Which was exploration was weak, a self preservation motive would've been better, launching the initiative after the reapers invaded, an emergency plan if reapers harvest succeeded, and then... After the war was over, send another ark to tell them that salvation was achieved in the milky way.
Then you'd have to explain the threat of the Reapers to everyone. The point of the Andromeda Initiative, was to get underway before the Reapers invaded.

The game was good and underrated and criticized so much. Yes the faces and animations were bad, but they did fix them and going back the gameplay is the best of all ME games. I hope they bring this gameplay back in the new one. Yes it was not better than the originals but it was still a good ME game.

Not only do they speak perfect English, but they are shooting at you in about 3 seconds... Any hope for meeting a cool new species, working through the inevitable communication problems as we work to forge a relationship... Nope. Just generic big bads. Stupid quests and terrible animations sealed it for me and I tapped out on the first desert planet. What a let down.
Those issues turned me off to it on release, but in the last week I haven't been wanting to put the game down when going for a mass effect title. I do wish EA didn't transfer off the bioware team to work on another game. Because I feel what we got was interesting but doomed to failure because of EA's meddling.

The firsy time I played this, I got goosebumps when the letters appeared suddenly in the black screen, like the first mass effect game. So iconic and cool moment, where the synth arpeggio sets the mood for the tittle.

Im replaying the Deluxe Edition now in these very days and guys, I have to say, its an amazing game.
By far the best part of the game and the only part they felt like Mass Effect.

Even see terrible animation, location hell, it still for me Mass Effect and it's sad that i can't see a continue of story of Galactic Andromeda with Vetra (best waifu in Andromeda), Drack, Pebe, Cora, Jaal, Leksi, Kallo.
Greatest flop of the series, with no mention of how they avoided the reapers travelling to andromeda.
I mean, space is... big. It's not that unreasonable that they didn't run into any reapers.

I wanted this game to be so good but it is the worst game in the series by far. I couldn't even finish it because of the poor quality of it. I hate EA so much for screwing this franchise...
I'm still going. It's nothing like the original trilogy tho.

So epic intro... so disappointing game...
The firsy time I played this, I got goosebumps when the letters appeared suddenly in the black screen, like the first mass effect game. So iconic and cool moment, where the synth arpeggio sets the mood for the tittle.
