We are with our mother hen which is sleeping for the night. the Hen is sleeping on the stick on the nest. the chicks are still a little short so they have to try a little to go sleep with their mom.

I’ve been playing this every evening to teach my (Mail order) chicks to go inside to bed at dusk. If I shoo them in they come right back out, even if they’d already put themselves to bed outside. If I play this on my phone and stick where I want them sleeping, then in the last ten seconds they suddenly line up, go to bed, and go to sleep. Hilarious and so cute. They also think I’m their mom now and come running to me for cuddles, and have stopped distressed peeping. Thank you for this simple video - my babies are much happier (and safer)!

Actually my hen manku died he had 7 babies and 6 of them died because they keep calling for mummy and stopped eating can this help the only chick who is left be happy?

OMGOSH thank you!! I currently have a distressed injured chick inside. I tried everything I could think of to calm her down I finally googled hens calling their chicks and saw your video. My lil one calmed down so fast!

But my rather young Rooster did get flappy and begin clucking as he came running to investigate.

So cute. Mom is so pretty I have one like her but darker. Mine sleeps in a chicken house then I have a small cage and inside the cage a nest until they are older. Then mom starts getting on a roost when it’s time. And this cage is a great place but it only wish it was predator proof, It would not take much

Terrible housing for chicks, so stressful for mother hen and chicks. Terrible with the mesh floor with holes and that they are forced to sleep so high up on sticks. Nice that they get to be out in nature, very kind and perfect for animals. Fix better sleeping places for them, please.

They naturally sleep on sticks or they will be eaten by predators. The hen is teaching them to be safe.
