Eerie that this building has been long gone since September 13 2008, 13 years ago!!!!! Also I went to Galveston back in February 2020 before the pandemic and I saw the little entrance area of it that was left, along with the new Galveston Pleasure Pier which was also the old sight of the Flagship Hotel. Unfortunate they are long gone
The reason why they’re not going to rebuild it is because it only made money on the weekends of the summer months. It would Never generate enough to pay for itself. It was a great place with so much history. I only got to go there once and it was a Blast !!
If I had it my way, I'd have Tilman Fertitta (If he doesn't messit up) buy the location and the name from the owners and have it rebuild exactly the same way as it was when it opened. That would be great but alas... I will never get to go the Balinese room.
+koby howard Take your complaints somewhere else, I didn't shoot the video. I came across the video at work and thought it would be nice to share all of it unedited. There are people who will want to see what it was like inside.
@Christopher Aleman Thank you so much for sharing. I always dreamed about this place from the stories I heard shared from my grandparents and my dad, BOI in 1939. I never was able to go there and fulfill those daydreams of those stories but I also knew at the same time that the place could not recapture its former glory of what it was in the 1940s as described in the stories I heard. I appreciate your pictures. I shared them with my dad too. He is turning 82 this month.
