In the multitask one I think there is a simpler solution You can use the left and the right one to finish the one in the middle then restart left and finish the middle one again than do the same thing with the right. The enemy has no circles on both left and right and you have one in the corner. And it is your turn. Thats a guarenteed win
took me a bit to get what you meant, but yeah that is a much simpler way to resolve the middle without stray circles in there :)
so the first board is X on either bottom right or top right, then 3rd board x on bottom left or top left, and then place the x in the 2nd board in the middle and then do the funny 4 click combo and win

The move is too reset the left game and replace only the winning x on the middle game. This effectively erases whatever o is on the left game while keeping a free x. The blind challenge can thus be restated to be finding a way to always win tic tac toe if you start with an extra x on a side or corner of your choice

At 21:59 you can literally cheat moves by winning in the middle board. You can then do the same thing by resetting the right board and moving in the middle.

The best N-in-a-row variant is Gomoku in my spicy opinion. I also made an abstract strategy game where you're restricted from making 2 or more in a row, but that ended up evolving into a different thing entirely and barely resembles tic-tac-toe in the slightest.
Connect6 is also interesting, since it attempts to remove the advantage for whoever goes first. Does your new game resemble anything in particular?
Unlike 3x3,3 tic-tac-toe where the optimal strategy is a draw, 4x4,4 tic-tac-toe is actually optimal for the first player to win, but it must be a skill issue.
It's really cool how there's no clear answer and the winner depends heavily on the parity between the dimensions and the length of a match you're aiming for.

I am suprised at how u play at ulti tic tac toe. as someone that programmed an AI for that game I have a few comments. I personally dont like sending the opponante to the same board I am on if I dont need to, it's just giving him a free move on the board that I may later wanna use, making it more difficult to play with. I also dont believe in forced blocks, since in this verient u can just deflect and some times it's jusr better to do so.
in this game it's better to hone in on one line and focus mostly on that. durring the middle stages of the game u usually pick which line it'll be. middle is very powerful so u usually wanna have it for yourself of u can but honestly in this verient I actually personally prefer picking one of the side strights.
in this game. u generally wanna set up multiple combinations and try to like make it so they dont overlap in squares. u dont want all your line on your mini boards to have to go through the center square. u have to spread it out.
I found that deflecting in this game is sometimes more powerful then meaning. in 9:26 it would have been better to go for middle row left lane to deflect the circle from wining bottom middle big board. I think he chose to go for the diagonal but in that case the line going down was the better choice (because both the squares he needed to pick in order to complate these mini boards were leading to dead boards (boards witb no activity or importance to the game) so sending the enemy player to them wouldnt have effected as much as taking that top left did.
luckly it's not a solved game so u can play however u like, but I think it's interasting seeing people playing in different styles from what I am used to see.
there is no definitive answwr, just play styles. this guy is more agressive with it while I like to stall and possibly open new possibilities as I go. I think that's cool the game got highlighted non the less!
anyways I'll go back to my programmer hole this was a fun detor my friend sent me this video because I am down the rabit hole but it was a nice watch!
edit: what I said about the time stamp is probably true to like higher level AI seeing like 6 steps into the future kind shit so for a human it probably doesnt matter. I assume the AI u played against was probably only a few layers deep so it worked out. I dont suppose a normal game site with provide that meny resources for this game to really run depper then 3 maybe at most 4 layers. and it grows expnonentionally so it really is a difference. but it's works well emough and seems fun! if u want a real challenge I've seen a 8 layer deep beast out there u can look into. that one is psycological horror levels. also there is like I think omega tictactoe which is like using ultimate tic tac toe boards as squares for a bigger board but that one is wild ot aint worth lmao
all of this is stuff I came up with durring my AI works that helped it work better. this is probably not objectively true but it worked for me dumdum computer so that's good enough for me
i enjoyed reading your take, though this was pretty much the first time I ever played ultimate tic tac toe (I feel like maybe I also played it a very small amount of times years ago but yeah, that was genuinely just my first take on the game) :)
