I remember seeing this years ago, and always thinking to myself why this scene got to me? Years Later: The answer is simple, it adds a believability to a character who is literally an alien. Something so simple, so human, that you believe him to be real.
+TXNICK96 I know. They pretty much said that bioweapon would wipe out the entire Espheni species since the Queen was connected to ALL of them. Looks like they freed the universe of the Espheni threat, not just the Earth.
She didn't say that at all. The Dornia said that would destroy all the Espheni and the only other relatives the Queen mentioned was her dead daughter. You can see all the Espheni creations such as the Skitters and Hornets exploding as well.
I dunno, it was pretty great. The queen was biologically connected to her entire race (that was mentioned) and that "magic rod" was a bioweapon. Sent a virus through her into the rest of her race. They compared it to a computer virus during the episode.
Well that was building all season: the Dornia mentioned it was building a weapon and that was it. Its a bioweapon, a virus designed to spread through the Espheni and wipe them out. I agree about the backstory with the Queen though. It actually DOES make sense that the Queen was connected to her race. Or COULD be. I was hoping for a big final battle though since the season seemed to be building up to that.
Fate is a strange thing. It grants us favors when we least expect it, and deals us blows when we are least prepared for them. - Cochise (“Journey to Xilbalba”)
This is my favorite scene from the entire series. I really thought the series was lame and pointless and pretty bad. But this scene made it worthwhile for me to watch. :)
Know what I don't get? Why didn't they ask for his help when whatsherface got the rebar in her head? I am sure he had access to tech that could have helped her. Like the tech they used to remove the harnesses.
this was such a good speech. its deep, unexpected, perfectly reflects the alien-ness and does it so originally and believably.
I love it.

2013 me: a flower?
2020 me: alright the flower speech
I get a shiver when i listen to those beautiful and proud words
After watching the finale, i said to myself, "Looks like he'll get to see that flower after all."
+TXNICK96 And not only his children! ;D

Best character of the series only a smidge above Pope.
Tom + Cochies = (Best Friends/Brothers/Family Forever)!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
that alien sure is poetic.
I love Cochise and I love Doug Jones so much
Cochise had so many unintentionally hilarious moments too.
Ah I am so glad someone uploaded this haha.
"Amongst weary unbright cinder" - So poetic.
Thanks!
A most weary unbright cinder
Amazing speech. I really need to see this series.
Such a great show.
I love the Volm so much
We don't deserve Doug Jones.
Doing this monologue for my acting class :)
Didnt expect this, neither did that president. Cochise is clever to sync with human emotions, just like a heavy mental punch.
+Troy Carter Actually he wasn't manipulating them. In season 5 his father is pissed because he's become TOO human.
+Troy Carter he actually cares for humanity
something humans can't fathom, actually giving a shit about another race

- Cochise (“Journey to Xilbalba”)
Watching this after Discovery makes it sooooooo obvious that Cochise is played by Doug Jones. The same speech pattern beneath the voice modulator. ;)
-A Flower 🌹-
¡Lloré como una niña!
The flower concept should of been used through the rest of the show, instead of the queen, or something like the game Resistance 3!
This is beautiful. I actually listened to itctwice. It's almost musical.
Cochise among the many thing he could symbolize , he could be either a Teacher , a Symbol i dont understand or a possible ally in the futur

Its worthwhile for a time then it descends into utter shite.
I just barely came here and this show seems pretty interesting ngl
Great character!
I would like to see a comic or mini series about the vunng coming to help earth!or a comic about the humans teaming up
I loved Chichauk Il'sichninch Cha'tichol
They should’ve made some video games and spin off series
The Espheni are alien race are a butterfly like species.
Does anybody know the name if the music in the background???
any idea of the music on the background? It should be his theme!

Perso si un jour je devais tomber nez à nez avec des alien je ferais tout ce que je peux pour les détruires
Honestly, Cochise sounds like he's saying "cli-toris". It's ok bro, all men don't understand it either
This show is so silly.
How???
For an Alien he speaks good English 🤣
