Recently I have read all three books of "The Three-Body Problem" trilogy, and this is the music I always imagined when "The Dark Forest" book is visualized by some big Hollywood director. Imagine you are sitting in a dark theater, your IMAX stereo glasses on, the movie is finished, credits roll, and now you know what the dark forest really is. You shiver in your armchair, thinking it's so good it's just a book and the real dark forest does not exist... but on screen, behind the rolling credits, for long 30 minutes or so, you see that dark, huge, no, _HU-U-U-U-GE_, absolutely *humongous*, big asteroid size hulk of The Singers' starship floating effortlessly in the warped space, with a speed of light, and this VLA music plays... the movie titles roll, the starship silenlty glides, the stars are glimmering, the cold eternal and empty darkness is everywhere, many many millions of light years around you, and this music... Can you feel it guys? CAN YOU FEEL IT? I can't shake this out of my head, now this VLA album is always the music of The Dark Forest to me. It's so good this is just a book! Just a fantasy. Right?

Absolutely stunning and powerful -too powerful as a sleeping aid ;-) - ideally as background music for concentrated work at late night (like Jean Michel Jarres "Waiting for Cousteau" - ambient at it's best! Although at first it sounds af there is a repeat loop every 10 seconds the piece has a story (again as the other mentioned ambient mastierpiece) - one has to listen carefully to detect it, but it's worth the listening! Float - be in space! Peace...
I suspect they used an AS-606 Ambient Sequencer on that one. I will buy two of those then. That said, currently there is a sale on bandcamp, 13 full albums for roughly 35bucks, no brainer, instant buy, that´s what uploads like this lead to.
Not a drone but you might like Banco de Gaia - Kincajou (Duck! Asteroid) if you want to take your mind somewhere else. try to find Banco de Gaia - Eagle (small steppa mix) as well. they're a continues mix.
is this an actual edit song that is just repeated many times or is this the full song? if it's the latter, why is it not available through CBL? either way, this is one of my favorite songs they ever put out. CLASSIC!
