(I am joking, but that IS what it reminded me of).

I hate the balltop lock. It just sticks out and snags in a backpack. Nice it comes with batteries not like the ArcadBox that I bought 2 separate sets of batteries till I found some that actually fit. I love the 8 buttons and slimmer case; but instead of full metal I’d prefer “plastic fantastic” like the Powkiddy A13, makes it super light. Plus the A13 has a great monitor cable solution in the hinge. Pandora just seems to get close to making a great device, but just can’t get out of their own way! But hey it has a free Geiger counter! At least it sounds like it!

That is exactly, what we all should do, put a RPi 4 in there, or some other single board computer, and play thousands upon thousands of naughty games, on there with full speed emulation of most of the systems you played in this video.

I reviewed a similar one, but it was called the 36S. Had more emulators and also games market. Appears to run better than the 28s too. Only main issue i had was when switched off, the red LED charging light remained on all the time, which resulted in the battery being fully drained after 7 days without any use, which was a shame.
Nice video, I keep getting tempted to get one of these. I really can't justify the expense though, especially when it will be hardly used as they won't let me use it at work. 😭

I know you guys do great work getting them up to speed but I’m not a tinkering type of guy I just want to see one that’s genuinely plug n play straight out the box

Outrun (car racing game)- the sound crackles and runs slow. There’s different versions. Haven’t tried those yet. Same with Batman beyond. Tekken 3 I didn’t have a problem with. It ran pretty smooth.
Lol at the "screen protector". Would have been better not to put it at all, whoever put it didn't give a f***. A theme throughout every other aspect of it like the sound delay. What a disappointment. At least you got a cool case.
I literally just bought and returned one of these. I haven't watched the video yet, so my unbiased "review" before I watch: The hardware is AMAZING, like this thing feels incredible with its metal case, great controls, thick acrylic plate, and totally decent display. But the SOFTWARE, OMG, I've never had one of these Pandora things before and the experience was terrible!! If I could've just put Retroarch on this, I would have kept it forever! But in the end I had to get rid of it, such a shame! It's the same hardware inside as a Powkiddy A13 which can be hacked to just run Retroarch, but for the life of me I couldn't find any way to get this thing into a recovery mode. I wanted it to be amazing so badly, like I don't think a piece of hardware has ever made me drool like this thing did. Oh, but the speaker is total crap and mono, that's its biggest flaw with the hardware. Anyway, on to the video, let's see if you had a similar experience!
Pandoras are a terribly quality brand! Thank you for another review but I am sure you also think Pandoras boxes are crappy now too. Super Console X King still the King imo.
I have a cheap 10 inche tablet that has 128 gigabytes SD Card & i use a 8Bitdo Arcade Stick which is Bluetooth. I put my own Emulators. Doing it my way is cheaper and i use emulators i know that work great. If the emulators were perfect on the Pandora then i would buy one.
When I occasionally get the urge to fall victim to Alibaba and all these Chinese consoles I just come here and binge watch your reviews. Not one of them will I ever buy. (I bought one ONCE, never again... they are all crap).
Among other things, it's a shame they didn't just make a compartment for the balltop within the case, which you could alternately use to stow away and extra top, like a battop. I'm 100% certain they could have made room!
I bet they used a small tv or computer monitor in that Pandora Box Console because it is cheap and they do not have to source screens from a manifactor who makes IPS screens.
never mind that little scratch, the stick is gonna put a hole through the screen lol i think id rather build my own using a retro pie or something. id try to make the screen fold back and tuck in underneath the arcade stick somehow.

I have the older case that came with a rpi4, sanwa stick and buttons, you can just barely fit a ssd and a cooling fan in it.This case is slimmer, wider, more space inside and room to rest the wrist beneath the buttons . A rpi4 in this case would be a game changer
