- Saosin performing the full Translating the Name EP in order for the second time ever; Seven Years, Translating the Name, 3rd Measurement in C, Lost Symphonies, and They Perched on Their Stilts, Pointing and Daring Me to Break Custom live from night 2 of 2 of their special 20th Anniversary Shows at the sold out Garden Amp in Garden Grove, CA on June 18, 2023. This was shot with a Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VII, on-camera audio mixed with externally recorded audio.

Definitely no bad blood with cove and the band. They’re going on an Asia tour and cove will be doing vocals since Anthony won’t make it. They’re also re-recording self titled.
The beef with Justin is kind of hush hush, a few legal reasons. But the band has cut all ties with Justin, they just don’t like each other.

No, just get tired of going to work and driving hours to get to and from shows.
this is the performance on the live EP version that was put out last month, just worse audio.
I mean this was recorded on a $250 USB mic, as opposed to captured with professional audio gear and mixed and mastered by an audio engineer...So

Hot take, but Anthony sounds worse than Cove ever did at this point... Anthony's voice just doesn't have the power it did two decades ago and it's barely audible over the rest of the band unless he's screaming, because he's singing almost entirely in a light and breathy falsetto voice and it ruins the feel of these songs.
What??? No way. Anthony has range!
Yeah him singing most of the songs in falsetto is quite a bummer, but we gotta understand a couple things. First, everyone has off days (I've seen Anthony absolutely nail these songs) and second, he has gotten so much older than when he first wrote these songs and the voice changes SO much over that time (especially since he didn't really continue to do this style of music when he departed to do Circa). I just enjoy the vibe of these dudes jammin together again, but I would love if Anthony gave it a bit more.
I'd like to tag a third point on there as well actually, he didn't have any in ear monitors in the entire show... >
Anthony deff still got it but Cove brings the nostalgia and really evokes the crowd better
That falsetto he has been doing he's been doing for years. Even in the infamous Get Out live performance, he's using it (the song is demanding so i understand), even in some studio songs like Medicine and Poison, which is on the first album. Ant can still get up there.
I also I heard that thinner people have trouble staying up there, since Ant was a little chubbier back then. Cant say though.
