For the past 10 years I've been saying, "How cool would it be if Anthony Green got back with Saosin and they released a new album?" And all my friends were like, "Yeah right, grow up Blake. Let it go, it'll never happen." And what are those friends saying now? Well.. idk. I don't have friends anymore.
Agree. This album is so much unique and one of the best ever in whole core genre. And these words are coming from someone who listens this type of music from early 00's and have heard hundreds of albums. I have still hope that Saosin will make the greateast comeback in music
Agreed. It was such a kick in the teeth type album. 22 minutes of insane drum tracks, amazing guitar and Anthony making us fall in love with his voice and words.
This album caught lightning in a bottle. Every track is a stand out. Obviously we gush about the vocals. And a lot of people compliment the drums. But I want to also geek out on the bass. I hear so many cool little details. The bass is mixed in so well. Guitar work is top notch. I guess the point is, everything came together in a special way that is not easily replicated. And everything about this album stands the test of time.
The drums on this EP were actually done by a session drummer and not the band lol but yeah they’re one of the best parts of this EP. When I say I like Saosin, I’m talking about this EP only really 😅
This whole album fully encapsulates a 3 year portion of my life. I can still smell all those smells and all those tastes. The goosebumps are constant throughout 🤓

I don’t even like emo but this album is amazing. A high school friend of mine showed it to me, as a death metal kid, and I was impressed then as now. Def brings back “that feeling” of being a teenager in the beginning of the millenium. So real, I can almost taste it.
Me too. I think it’s the instrumentals. And singers voice is smooth unlike a lot of other bands. There hasn’t been another post hardcore album that I enjoyed other than this. I like Coheed and Cambria.
"Real Emo" only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene. What is known by "Midwest Emo" is nothing but Alternative Rock with questionable real emo influence. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical Romance are not real emo, while saying that Sunny Day Real Estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as My Chemical Romance (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and a failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n Jazz (the only real emo band from the midwest scene) and Loma Prieta. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American Football, My Chemical Romance and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO HARDCORE NOT TO INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

This album is every awkward moment, every sitting on the hood of my car watching the sun rise over the Hudson Valley through drunken eyes that has made me who I am today. It’s a record of a time I’ll never get back but if I had a choice in a life to relive it exists in this album.
I've had constant goosebumps listening to this for the last god know how many years. The drums, the vocals, the syncopated beat changes that square out, just genius. So much sound to pick up and enjoy for years to come. Words cant truly express how much i love this album ❤

Amazing EP. I remember hearing this for the first time in the early 2000's (2003 maybe??). Anthony Green and this band were made for each other. They compliment the other so well. It's a shame it didn't work out.
I remember every word I knew back then as well, that doesnt really mean much though because I only understand what Anthony is singing about 1/5 of the time.
It is the sense of nostalgia after being imprinted....a great way to sum it up through this quote. "I’m not ashamed of anything we’ve done. Those things are what they are. Music comes to you at a certain point in your life and imprints itself on that part of your mind. I think people confuse that with thinking they really love a record and want that record again. Que buen disco, soy de Chile y aprecio mucho la musica que ha logrado esta banda pese a todos sus encuentros y desencuentros. Gracias por subir el disco!
Such a sick EP. Pat was such a boss drummer. Anthony is still an amazing singer and songwriter. The chord progressions throughout this EP are sick. Such a perfect combination.
So I just discovered Seven Years. I actually never listened to this type of music before because I hated screamos, but Hail the Sun has made me kind of used to it. And now I'm here and holy fuck is Seven Years addicting! From Hail the Sun to Circa Survive to Saosin now... Post Hardcore might just be one of the best genres actually! Love it so far! No one knows any of these bands nowadays tho :< WITHOUT YOU, SOMETHING THAT I COULD NEVER DO!!!!
+Terra Nort I'm telling you man, discovering this genre just like you has been one of the best things to happen to me in my life. If you want any recommendations, I'd be more than happy to oblige.
L Yeah sure feel free to do so. For now I absolutely love Hail the Sun (and Sianvar is cool as well, but not sure it's the same genre, but it's the same singer). I liked Circa Survive's On Letting Go, I liked Blue Sky Noises a little less. Didn't get hooked on to Dance Gavin Dance. Overall took only like 2 songs from them, I don't really like the huge amount of screamos and I think it gives a weird effect with the voice of the singer. Saosin is awesome, especially Seven Years lol the ones from the self-titled album are cool as well. Didn't really explore much more for now. So, any recommendations based on what I just said? :p
+Terra Nort You basically need to listen to anything from BlueSwan records. Then go to the owner of Blue swans band Dance Gavin Dance. You seem to like the bands that do less of the screaming so Senses Fail's old stuff is a good bet. Listen to the album Let It Enfold You and Still Searching. If you begin getting use to the screams then listen to Underoath. They are pretty much the legends of post hardcore.
Gauge Stibbs Aight, thanks. I already got used to screamos, the latest album from Hail the Sun has some of it. For Dance Gavin Dance I actually only listened to Instant Gratification. Only liked We Own The Night and Something New, and those aren't my favorites from my playlist or anything, 'twas just okay I guess. So not really my thing. And I mean I'd say Seven Years has a fair amount of screamos as well (and overall Translating the Name actually has a certain amount of it) yet I love it (though I admit the screamo parts aren't my favorites). I'll check those bands and albums out, thanks!
I never understand why they never gone big in germany!?I spent hours with listen to that EP!Till today it's still powerful and make me think about my youth!
Tomorrow at Riot Fest... 16 year old Tom's dreams will come true. Actually, I never even dreamed of Anthony Green re-joining Saosin. I assumed it was an impossibility. Tomorrow, a miracle will happen for me.
Old school Saosin is so good. This is hands down my favorite album. Shame they broke up. Circa Survive is excellent, though. Something about Anthony Green's voice that moves me.

Analogy!
Lmk how the show goes guys, cant express proper max jealousy at the moment...
Oh my God! This 21 minutes and 21 seconds here is a masterpiece with no doubt.
I love all the songs on this!!
ye
Such a sick EP. Pat was such a boss drummer. Anthony is still an amazing singer and songwriter. The chord progressions throughout this EP are sick. Such a perfect combination.
So I just discovered Seven Years.
I actually never listened to this type of music before because I hated screamos, but Hail the Sun has made me kind of used to it.
And now I'm here and holy fuck is Seven Years addicting! From Hail the Sun to Circa Survive to Saosin now... Post Hardcore might just be one of the best genres actually! Love it so far! No one knows any of these bands nowadays tho :<
WITHOUT YOU, SOMETHING THAT I COULD NEVER DO!!!!
+Terra Nort I'm telling you man, discovering this genre just like you has been one of the best things to happen to me in my life. If you want any recommendations, I'd be more than happy to oblige.
L
Yeah sure feel free to do so.
Gauge Stibbs
Aight, thanks.
If you want really good vocals do old Dance Gavin Dance or go to one of there old vocalists new band Slaves. I hope you enjoy some of that music. ^-^
The best EP ever . Most beautiful music ever.
still listening September 2015!!!! love it
still listening Oct 3rd 2015!!! ALL HAIL TONY THE NIGHTINGALE

Fuck yeah!! How was it? I'm awaiting a show they are doing in Santa Ana, CA in January. I didn't see this day coming either!
I just listened to this album for the 1st time ever rn and I have fallen in love.
Anthony Green is touring with the boys again!
that makes me sooo happy!!!
YES YES YESSSSSS!!!!
FUCK ME!! they were in LA last month and i missed it, with Anthony Green!!!.....i'ma go die now.
Oh, to see him do 7 days with them again ... wow.

I love this album. Thank you.
*_I promised the world and a dozen roses..._*
Such a raw melodic masterpiece ._. No doubt
Old school Saosin is so good. This is hands down my favorite album. Shame they broke up. Circa Survive is excellent, though. Something about Anthony Green's voice that moves me.
Still blasting this in Oct ‘21🔥🔥
2017 and still listening
