Little known? I have never heard of it. Thanks for the education! This has to be a tough set to collect, with those pop counts. Too bad the Yankees, hence Ruth and Gehrig, were omitted from the set. Aesthetically, I don't care for the set, although I wouldn't mind owning the Foxx and Hornsby.
For the timeframe that they came out in, I like the look of the cards (the back's could be better). And I think the POP counts are a little deceiving. I'm sure there are more in SGC slabs and probably a lot more that have not been graded at all. I'm sure those looking to complete the set would do one ungraded (except for maybe the big cards). I think a Ruth and/or Gehrig would look great in that set.
No Yankee cards let me guess Ruth had contracts with Gaudy? Why is Connie Mack card 15 in a suite as opposed to a uniform? I like the cards with the yellow in the background and the columns.
Thanks for compiling and sharing, John. First time I have heard of the set. It is very colorful.
Thanks Kevin. It is one of the lesser-known sets from the 30s, but still a really nice looking set in my opinion.
I know Dave “Bluejacket66” Berg once had a complete set of Tattoo Orbits. I just cannot even imagine that!!! Thanks for all the details John!
Wow! I didn't know that. I'm sure that there aren't very many complete sets around.
Great set and video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Orlando!
Well done my friend 🎉
Thanks Ken!
Very nice cards
It's definitely a very colorful set. Often overlooked when talking about 1930s sets.

Correct. Ruth was exclusively with Goudey at the time. Connie Mack was in a suit because he was a manager, not a player.
