I recently moved into a newly constructed home that already had a T6 pro Z wave thermostat and a ring doorbell do I have to buy a Z wave separately or does it already come with a home if it does come with the home where would I find it

Make sure you have the Ring app set up on your phone as well as the Ring Security Panel. When you open the app, there should be a Thermostat icon on your main Ring home screen that is not connected. Select it. Select Z-Wave Thermostat (not T5, T6, T10. etc) , then select the Z-Wave setup on your thermostat once it says Including on the thermostat, select Add on your phone.

Many home builders are installing these thermostats via a security company. I think that is why I cannot include in my smartthings hub. I may try resetting to see if that clears the security companies programming.

Hi, the T6 Pro Z-wave Thermostat does not have WiFi capability and cannot be used with the Honeywell Home app or Total Connect Comfort platform. Z-wave is a wireless communication protocol that allows for home automation between other z-wave compatible devices and controllers. For example, Honeywell Alarm systems are zwave compatible so you can pair your theromstat to your alarm system and have control remotely through the alarm systems mobile phone app. There are garage door openers, door locks, light fixtures and outlets, and other z-wave devices that do not require connection through wifi.

This thermostat is meant to connect to a home security system that you have to buy through a company. It is Wi-Fi idk why they say it’s not when you can see the Wi-Fi symbol in the top right. To use it on your phone there is another pad from the security company that it will connect to by Wi-Fi . Ours is free for 3 years after that to use with app we will have to pay the company $$ each month which is crap. My opinion they made a deal with the home builder to put this in where they both profit off of it, I guarantee. My outside lights and door lock are hard wired to this pad also. So when I decide not to pay them in 3years I will have this useless pad in my hall. As well as not being able to use my outside lights or automatic door lock! Which my opinion I guarantee Kiwik who made the door lock has no idea this is happening. I will be finding a way around this!!! I’ll do everything manually before I pay them for thermostats, lights, and door lock in MY HOME that I already paid for!
Did you figure out a work around? Mine is free only for one year and then $20-30/mo. I do not want to pay this but don’t know enough about this to find a workaround. Anyone have any ideas?
I called the security company and told them to release my devices from their network. They did and now I am free to use my own apps to control them… I use Google but you can use whichever you would like…

Man you guys are terrible at supporting this Z-wave, why not get an expert IT guy to explain to everyone how to connect the controller and bold letter print on the Package explaining its not Wi-Fi, My Landlord bought it and installed it, behind my washer and Dryer, and its a pain to reach it. Amazon says it supports Z-wave, but the controller is actually the alarm hub. smarthings is a pain and samsung is in the same support, Hubatat changed their software, and sucks now. Makes me want to buy the wi-fi one but I am renting, and why spend way more money on security hub smart stations because these companies keep using proprietary crap to make more money. If I were rich I would have smashed the stupid thing already, I am not saying it in a mean spirit, but truthful. And to only reason I tried messing with it is because I was an electronics technician before. This video should be called programing not set up controller. Show all controllers that are compatible and how to set them up, that's your job
It's used to control smart devices in your home one example is Hubitat which does not require internet access to control the devices you have. You may want to use it in it's non smart mode.

I have truly never experienced a more complicated worthless piece of garbage in what should be the modern era. I almost feel like I’m stepping into the 90s just by looking at this thing on the wall. Using it is a complete nightmare. My entire development received so many complaints that all 150 units are being stripped of this worthless piece of garbage.

this is a z-wave only thermostat. It does not connect to wifi, you must have a Z-wave hub to connect to this thermostat like SmartThings or Hubitat.

I get a FAILED TO EXCLUDE error. Do I have to also remove the device from the Zwave controller at the same time?
You need a Z wave hub first. For example i use the ring security hub. And then add the thermostat to the hub.
