A dimorph swarm on aggressive anchored to an alert Parasaur on passive is a great base defense that doesn't require ammo and always returns to "reset" position.
I once heard that someone I traded with had a the exact same thing, but instead of parasaur it was a doed, wilds would ignore it (not that they could see it due to the pillar) but it is also far tankier and doesn’t have a head shot area, so it was really hard to kill the anchor of the swarm
I use swarms anchored to a turtle, because they are can deal with a fair amount of damage while they wait for the swarm to demolish any aggressors...
Turtles 4 lyfe.

I do appreciate that the greenhouse does look realistic but at the same time, some greenhouses are indeed transparent, so I think a worthy change would be the ability to swap between opaque and transparent

You should have a passive ignore tame in the center area that has the argy's following it while they are on aggressive or neutral. Then when they kill stuff they come back down to the one they are following. Works pretty great for pre-turrets.
The argys and wolves that don't make the cut could still get used. Plus, if the death message pops up, you get a warning of what you have to fight.
Nearly 20 episodes in already, how time flies. Cant wait for the next episode

At around 4:40 you mentioned not liking the look of your roofs. I think the build is good but you could try dyeing the roofs black. I think it's just missing contrast. Just my thoughts. Love your videos Syntac
Syntac, the drop down box on the left of the tracking menu, click on “tames in progress” then click POI, it’ll track anything you knocked out.
My thoughts on greenhouse:
It looks like greenhouse, not like glass structures.
We dont need to change greenhouse, we just need actual glass.
Though if the solution is just changing greenhouse that's fine too.

The greenhouse panels are more realistic now. Real life modern day green houses are usually built from a metal frame and high quality plastic sheeting or plastic panels. I used to work for a manufacturer here in America (:
I think the thing with greenhouse stuff is that, now, it looks more like ACTUAL greenhouse structures. So while now actual greenhouses look way more like an IRL greenhouse (which is nice) it makes the greenhouse parts way worse as generic glass structures.
I feel like the best solution to this would be proper glass variants for the different structure sets (stone, metal, tek etc). S+ already had metal-glass stuff, would be cool to see an official version of that sorta stuff.

Honestly i like how the new greenhouse pieces look, BUT only if you look at them as part of a greenhouse. Imo they should add decorative glass pieces that looks like actual glass, maybe as part of the metal tier

the new greenhouse look makes sense though some are made of glass but there are also a lot of greenhouses that are just a frame with plastic over it so the new greenhouse pieces were probably inspired by that

I like the glass as it is. People don't like it as you can't see through it but that is the point. ARK is largely a PVP game, and the changed the glass so you can't see through it as well so you can USE it, and not give away as well what is held inside. But as for dealing with wilds, Plant X can help but high lv stuff can easily tank it and come in and one shot the planters. Turrets waste ammo. Your better off taming a bunch of aggressive Dimorphodons set to follow a passive dodic that's set up in a tower. Keep in mind, they will also go after players if its a pvp set up.
For those who want that PVP funzies against players add in some Onycs, Ichthyornis, Pegos, Kaprosuchus, Purlovia, Kentro, Megalania, Arthropluera, Aneo, and Microraptors in the mix, if you want to be even more evil, Troodons. If the dou they follow is high enough you can chuck the Microraptors at it they WILL fly, giving a nice surprise to people getting too close. This covers air and ground. You can combo that with some plat X to help slow targets down, but don't use plant X on their own.
Why these tames? Most are small and hard to hit, they also all do something from inflicting a status effect, immobilizing/slowing down to even stealing your items and breaking your armor. The flyers are also more likely to go after a player riding a dino. This is also good for discovering that hidden snipper as one shot and the flock beelines to them, and sure you may lose some, but most will get there before there all picked off. It's even more fun if you BREED them up, and pump health into some and damage into others.
I've PVPed on the old game sense before it came to Steam, and enjoyed adding new creatures to my living defense, this is really good on solo or small tribe servers as these little funzies, outside troodons are really easy to tame up.

Keep going after those red drops and you might not need to gather so much iron. I got super lucky and found a industrial forge in one red drop and a chem bench in another

This is probably the most nice looking base I’ve seen you make, I also love phlingers season 4 soloing the ark base. That and this one are too two
So Syntac. The Drops have been incentivised on the Map. The harder they are to get to, the better the reward. I.e. Mountain Tops, Red Woods, and caves are more rewarding than beaches and valleys.
I had the exact same issues, haha. Was flying around looking for Direwolves and some Sabertooth, but they were all either like Pack Leader lvl 25, or fighting Mammoths.
I love the mammals in this game so much. Wolves are the best.

the fishes can have differentsizes so you can find big fishes. Axeman had a 3.3x fish in his pond at one point.

Great video! I was wondering what breeding settings ya'll use? I've tried to find some good settings but can't seem to get it optimized well enough
Unsure how true this is but I’ve seen a few post and a few vids about how you can put stacks of meat in the toilet and then use the toilet to quick spoil stacks of meat
If you want to track a tame quickly, just put some food in it's inventory, then take it back out. It will automatically track the creature
When I saw that baby ovis and the adult I honestly thought you found Evo's tames, and you were about to kill another person's tames. lol.

I personally think the new greenhouse look makes sense, that is typically how greenhouse genuinely does look. A darker green and designed like how it looks in game now, now it just like actual greenhouse.
However if they made this change i’m not sure why they wouldn’t just add also actual glass pieces that looks clear like how it was in ASE.

Tames in progress only show up if u feed them, if not, they're just unconscious xD
interesting glitch, if u move the parent to ur base knock it out then exit to main menu it teleports the baby to u when u log back in.

I think using quarter walls around the supports (assuming you'd be able to do so), would make it look a lot better. Not that it looks bad, but I think it looks kinda weird and flimsly when a structure that big is held by supports that thin

27:35 pretty sure the regular fish(Coelacanth) do give prime fish meat now. I found a giant X2.8 Coelacanth the other day. I think those are special spawn of the regular fish. The size of it just looks like a Ichthyosaurus…
I was able to get some prime fish and a ton of normal fish meat from it.
Oh.. and it fought back when I attacked.. kind of surprised me cause I thought it was something else in the water

If you put a bit of meat inside the knocked out tame and then take it out it tracks it without having to go through all the menus :)
The greenhouse look would be fine for an actual greenhouse, but i do think that they need to add proper glass structures that have possibility to be dyed.
