Mikey is always two moves ahead of his opponents. He is humble and doesn't act like he has a mean bone in his body. Mikey just loves to roll and have fun doing it.
I wonder if the difference in a ref standing grapplers up in a grappling only match and standing them up in a full MMA match explains why the ref stood them up when Mikey had Jarred's back.
I'm in no way a professional and don't watch nearly enough of this sport to know all the rules. But I do like watching these guys perform. I personally think the ref moving them off the bottom rope allowed Mikey to increase the pressure on the arm. But the question I have is, is it a legitimate move? Can the ref do that ? Seems like he couldn't make that move off the ropes on his own, so it would have continued if not for the ref intervention.
The refs do that in One Championship in grappling and MMA bouts. Some times they make them get up and reposition in the center of the ring in the same way they were situated by the ropes. Sometimes the ref just pauses them and they drag them away from the ropes. I assume so they don't fall out but also so the ropes don't affect movement with people punching or in this case submission attempts.
I was thinking the same thing. It wasn't until they were moved that he was able to extend and put pressure on. Not saying he wouldn't have eventually finished it but I think it should be up to the grapplers to move into the more advantageous position.
Ref helped him out. When he moved Mikey's shoulders that through Brooks off balance. Brooks did not have a counter to the refs involvement. Should have stood them up if they were nervous about them falling out
Agree. Grappling is boring, especially when both fighter are equally good. All they do are just laying on top of each other hugging and kissing, LOL. We need to see a real fight where someone put someone to sleep from a deadly kick with a broken nose, arm or leg or a big cut to the head and face from an elbows or worse.
Yes, I do agree. It was kind of boring. I do like Em both but sitting on your butt. Doesn't help you doing anything if you want to fight. Go forward if you don't want to fight. Quit go home, sit down near your butt doesn't get anywhere regardless of style or not. That's not fighting. Go forward if you have to take a couple. Hits to get to get your point, then do that. But sitting on your butt that's not the right way to freak it fight if you want something go get it. Yes, you can always trick your opponent to you know, fighting your way, but in general doesn't seem like Mickey is well-rounded if he ever wants to get better and other skills other forms. Of fighting Mickey, don't sit on your butt. Be like DJ.
BJJ is the lamest of all " combat " sports. Seriously like this their a champion a 26 year okd virgin. Theres a reason BJJ isnt mainstream because its a joke. Just like televised pickleball

So funny the ref moving them actually gave him the angle for that triangle lmfao
The ref was like 'here let me help'..
Mikey is Crazy good! Really weird the stand up, ive never seen a fight where someone has the back and gets stood up!
Those body triangle switches were smooth like butter
We need Musumeci vs Tye Ruotolo
Tye would kill him
@@MasonK9572tye is is like 50lbs heavier, prolly more walking around.

a master submission artist who submits all the other professional grapplers. dangerous human.
Jarred looked super tough in there the first 5 or so. Props to Mikey for finding the answer 👏
I love how Brooks was so unbelievably pumped to be giving Mikey a proper go, like he was having the best night of his life. What a fight.
@@WindowsXP93 agreed great fight
I love the respect and appreciation these warriors show each other.
Rings are designed for stand up fighting. Whay would you ever have a grappling match in a ring? The pit is the way to go for grappling competitions.
I'm new to this site. Crazy cool with just one 10 minute round and all grappling. I like!

Wow this was awesome 👏

Musumeci just seems like a genuinely nice guy.
Love Mikey!
pride rules baby, ACTION !
All respect to great guard playing, but at least Mikey didn't immediately sit down. He waited for offensive engagement.
Musumeci💪
Imagine how much cooler he'd be if Gordon Ryan was nice like Mikey
🔥🔥
Mikey’s not a grappler. He’s a guard puller. Huge difference
Tell me the difference please
thought this was spencer lee at first
Mikey always ready to pull guard. This guy is creating all the hate for jiu jitsu. Look at how he starts his game. Hands and leg ready to pull guard.
That triangle tightened up when red moved them away from ropes. Horrible officiating
Horrible absolutely

Well it looks boring, because this is a chess play with body.
Nonsense
Probably the most boring way to fight😅
if you don’t know what you’re watching then sure
I would agree, it’s a niche, but the technicality can be impressive. The butt scooting is just…brutal to watch.
