- This extreme painted furniture makeover was a bigger project than I was expecting! After adding raised stencils to it and painting the cabinet white(ish) this piece looks nothing like it did! A giant improvement for sure! I even got to use my jigsaw :)

Great job! Love the color! Before painting, all I could see was "mom" on the doors, didn't anyone else see that!? Happy to see it gone😁👍

♥️ thank you
Definitely an improvement! Looks great!
Thank you Virginia! ♥️
I love when you do blue and gold, Sarah! It’s so elegant and the shade of blue you created is lovely. Raised stenciling is one of my favorite things, too. And spackle is my favorite medium for that. Brilliant to take out the panel in the drawers. What did you use to replace them? And did you staple or nail or glue them in? I love the hardware you chose! Much better than the “door knocker” pulls! It may not be perfect, but it looks pretty close!🌸
I was going to just glue the panels in but the weather got cold and the glue wasn’t setting fast enough for me to start the gold -so I stapled!
It is quite an improvement! Love the color you made 🤩
Thank you 🙏
Just love that stencil. I looks a lot like Dixie Belle's Moroccan stencil. I did a Moroccan style stencil on my bathroom cabinets painted a periwinkle blue. It had the ugly dated 80s's style cabinets. We also cut out the doors and put in a silver metal mesh panel that has very subtle moroccan cutouts. I then did a silver metallic wash over all of it (periwinkle blue.) I think you could do just a bit more of the gold metallic along some edges. That would bring it together some more. I feel like you stop before it's completely finished.
Filling the carvings and painting that wood grain a solid cover is a crime
😂
Looks great! How did you insert the panels on the door?
Glued and stapled to the back
0:26 At first I thought it motif on the doors says MOM
I saw the same thing! Then I couldn’t un-see it until I covered it.

Goo Gone with get rid of that mess left by the stickers
Thank you! - They were the felt pads to keep the top of the hutch from scratching the bottom piece. I’ve heard of goo gone before
Love it...what did you use to replace the door panels?
A thin board that I sanded, primed, then glued and stapled to the back
Beautiful!! What did you use to replace the door panels?
Some thin board that I glued and stapled to the back
Great job! Is there any concern of the raised spackling to later flake off or does the paint help seal and keep it in place? In any case, thx for the video. Subscribed!
Good question! The surface was sanded to give a good foundation to grip too, spackle is used on walls so I imagine it has a pretty good life expectancy, and the paint and sealer will also help! That said, I imagine raised areas will have a higher probability of getting damaged than the flat areas.
@@OurFurnitureFlippingAdventure thank you!
What a transformation, very nice! What's t he name of the stencil? I really like it.
Kaleidoscope - I bought it locally and was told it was a WoodUBend product
@@OurFurnitureFlippingAdventure thank you
Was that rub and buff on their raised stencil and do you have a link to buy stencil?
I used “eternal” decor wax (prima)
And the stencil I purchased locally but was told it was a WoodUBend product it’s called kaleidoscope.
You didn't show what you did with the cabinet doors after removing the insides.
I attached a thin board to the back with glue and staples
You destroyed a piece that could have been epic. A simple strip and stain with satin polyurethane would have been much better
It wasn’t wood. It’s pressboard- thought I said that in the video.
