    Holy snaps! Your laugh is absolutely golden! Ha ha! Just had to say that. I find it uncanny that people from other countries get the humor of Silk Sonic so much easier. What is the matter with us Americans? Okay, I won’t elaborate. On the sound of the groove, there actually was a male vocal group in the ‘90’s called Silk,& they had a song called ‘Freak Me’. The part after the guitar solo, where Bruno sings right on the beat during the hook, ‘After….last night…. I th8nk I’m….’, it’s very similar to a part in Freak Me where the lead sings, ‘Baby, don’t stop, ‘ like right on the beat similar to Bruno’s part. Blast Off has become my favorite, especially because it’s reminiscent of Earth Wind & Fire like when they say, ‘yeah yeah, or sing in unison. Guitar solo is Bruno & Anderson on drums. ‘Happy trails bama’. 777, yes you gotta, that their in the casino in Las Vegas ( that’s why the plane sound). When you listen to the album in order, it tells a story. So Put on a Smile was thr ad end to a chapter, now we gonna forget about it & party, then e go skate, then blast off. Amazing watching you, especially when you’re cracking up 😂🤣🤪 You gotta get more references than Back Street Boys though. Smokin was their first song they collaborated. It’s similar to Jackson 5, Never Can Say Goddbye. You gotta check many ‘70’s bands. Also, you might enjoy some Silk Sonic live performances like, American. Music Awards & I HeartRadio Music Awards. . ‘Happy trails’.

    This is music from 70s and 80s.. that is bootsie Collins. He is awesome and was big in the 70s.. this is music I grew up on .... Real instruments and harmony

    The guy who stutters at the start of the song is funk master Bootsy Collins a huge star in the 70's this track has his name written all over it.

      When i first listened to the song i thought it was Anderson's voice. When i listened a couple of times later, i realized it's actually Bootsy. Thanks for clearing this up!

    The ones who are singing background vocals in 'After Last Night' are Anderson .Paak, Bruno Mars, and their guest, Thundercat. They're all singing three part harmonies.

    Even as a "French as me", I understand that you miss some 70's references. Silk Sonic is a legacy of Curtis Mayfield, Earth Wind, Funkadelic, James Brown, O'Jays. Bootsy Collins is the link, as he did, playing on "Sex Machine", "Superbad" or an Herbie Hancock Bass line in the Deee Lite's "Groove is in the heart". Good evening.

    Great reaction... Enjoyed your breakdown and review on all songs... I like the fact you check out other reactions because from them you can sometime learn other views and intricate details... I think if you attend a live concert you will be a mess??

    • @tanci94
      @tanci94  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I checked reviews of Leave the door open and Smoking out the window, only, but my first listening to them was on my owm. I binge listen to Silk Sonic songs always. And then i came across of one review video, so i checked them all haha. In a live concert, i would be a mess because of one good reason. My brain being blown away and my expression of shock everywhere, and my English when i want to say everything at the same time😂

      Lol I got you! This album was inspired by 70's soul & funk. I don't know how far you want to go back but check out most of the Motown catalog. Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Delfonics, The Four Tops, Stevie Wonder, George Clinton as well as Parliament and Funkadeic where Bootsie Collins had his band and way too many to list lol! You'll see where they got the inspiration. Sorry I just threw a lot at you but if you listen to the 70's-80's this is what they wanted to emulate
