Thanks for shining a spotlight on Visions of Mana. At first, I thought it was just by-the-numbers, but after Morley joins the party... my gosh does this game ever ramp up. There were times I was open mouth gobsmacked by the scenery and vistas! The game just gets prettier and prettier the more you get into it! It felt like being swept into a Storybook! Visions of Mana is a really special game that more people need to check out.
YES! Great list! So glad you put Kakarot on here! I would also add Star Ocean: The Second Story R, Harvestella, and even Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion! :)
So as a new rpg channel I’ve been binging videos to see what I can improve on and I’m glad I found your channel a little while back because your list videos are amazing. I’ve been trying to make my first ever list video but keep rambling on about the games and my videos is super long so watching you has helped because i know now just focus on the point of the game that is important to the topic of the video. So thank you man for making great videos I can learn from and the fact you just have great content in general!!
A different list. I'm really happy when someone remembers the YS franchise, it's definitely one of the oldest Action RPG franchises in the history of electronic games, with over 30 years and almost no one remembers it.
Try to put more gameplay instead of cinematic videos, your commentary sounded good but i have to look up all of these games seperately to see if the combat is what im looking for
I'm playing Visions of Mana right now, and it's just pure joy. Sure, some of it is nostalgia. It feels like the perfect reimagining of Secret of Mana for the modern era. The action combat is not the best I've played. Ys and Granblue Fantasy Relink have it beat for sure. But it's solid and fun to play.
Persona 5 Strikers is way too overlooked for how good of a musou game it is, the freedom and flexibility is has arguably makes it the best in the subgenre
Gonna be honest, I watched through the first three, then clicked around the timeline and downvoted this video. I'm not trying to be mean, but giving very frank advice here: You show zero genuine battle gameplay for just about all of these entries. I was actually confused after you ran through the first entry and all I saw was anime cutscenes -- "did I read that title right? Is this a list for anime?" Then I scanned through Visions of Mana, which I have played and clearly, you didn't show anything worthy of the battle system in that game. How are you advertising for this subgenre, where fans are absolutely clearly wanting to know what the visual speed/feel of the action is, on a visual medium such as TH-cam, and fail to show genuine gameplay? I can't listen to or trust your words on any of these titles if you show me no gameplay for an action RPGs. It makes you seem like the type that perhaps doesn't actually know what matters. Show some of the style of major characters revealed/known in trailers because it matters too but equally, if not more, important is how the battles play out. I'm down to play an action (J)RPG that has less compelling or stylistically interesting characters to me if I really like the combat, not the other way around.
You’re correct. I misremembered this aspect. I remember playing and trying out a ton of different characters, but you do have to choose your character before the start of the quest or mission.

All great recommendations for sure!
Awesome list, there’s a bunch on here I haven’t played yet!
Yea Sand Land is underrated. Loved that game!
Gotta get to some of these, I loved all of them 😃
I was such a huge fan of Freedom Wars when it came out. I would love a re-release of that one so I could play it again!
A Freedom Wars Remaster would be epic!

I’m so happy to hear that, thank you for the kind words!!
YS ORIGIN AND ODIN SPHERE... YESSSSSS BEST GAMES ARE BEST
Visions of Mana was also great!
I agree, a lot of shout outs on this list that aren’t on everyone else’s top 10s.
Ys Origin is a game I’m surprised I liked as much as I did. So good.
@@slam-zany right? me too. it's so simple but it works so, so well
Amazing list man, these games are fantastic choices. Some of them I've yet to play myself, but will have to do something about that eventually!
Ys origin, celceta, lacrimosa, Napishtim, Monstrum I like them all.
Also the entries Tales series, Star Ocean, Radiata Stories, and Shining Force Exa
Ignore my typos. I meant the Entire Tales series. Just so many great Action rpgs. It's my favorite genre

I like this list a lot. I mean Freedom Wars, Ys Origin, Tokyo Xanadu. These are great games that don’t get the love they deserve!
I love Ys! Can’t wait until next month!! Ys 10🎉
Love the video! Freedom Wars is great, and yes Strikers is definitely the best Persona spin off.
REALLY good timing on Freedom Wars lol
Haha I know! I’ve wanted this for so long, literally asked for it in the video and bam it happens a few days later. Gotta love it!
Im a simple man, i see freedom wars in a thumbnail and i must watch!
Great list!

@@kermitwithamustache3885 I would agree. It is my favorite Musou game for sure!

Thank you for the honest feedback. It's always appreciated.
FF7 rebirth barely has a story anyway 😂
You can't swap characters during combat in GrandBlue Fantasy.
