    Very cool video! Very helpful and you went straight to the points and tips, appreciate it.
    My only suggestion is in the music selection, I love that music but is more related to action clips, I would love to listen something calmer instead so I can sit down and watching it relax drink some coffee ☕️😁
    Thanks man, I just subscribed!

    I "get" the desire to convert to a one-by having ridden my Dolomite for a few weeks now. However, I've found that I am definitely on high range of gears, or on a low range range. You can readily predict the need to switch. I don't recommend doing this upgrade until you ride the bike for awhile. Same for the other "must do" upgrades you will find on TH-cam. The bike is amazingly well conceived and constructed. Enjoy!

    • @kidbaseball4
      @kidbaseball4  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have a point. But I have trained thousands of people. (Ret.Nypd Bicycle Ins)
      And the one constant mistake is changing gears. If it wasn’t a common problem for most people the industry would not have switched. If you have been riding a long time sure it’s easy. But a new rider just having to switch one side, much simpler. Less thinking and more concentration on riding. On pavement or a beach not so bad. But everyone I ride with is riding trails. On an uphill the last thing you want is to switch into the wrong gear. It all depends on your riding style and your budget. The Dolomite is a good bike for the price I agree. But the upgrades make it much better. The Advent X shifters compared to the stock shifters are much smoother. Just makes for a great trail ride.

    Quick question. When in the 48t how close is chain to tire? Tried running my 4.8 tires but rubbed when in small chain ring and big cog. Thanks

    • @kidbaseball4
      @kidbaseball4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have 4.0 tires so it doesn’t hit the tire. I’m wondering if you could put a spacer on before installing the cassette and pulling one of the smaller cogs off so it clears. Or replace the rear tire with a 4.3.

    • @kidbaseball4
      @kidbaseball4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a square tapered bottom bracket you might be able to space that over enough to avoid the rubbing.

    Your chain doesn't seem to pass two links and I think you are using the same 8 speed chain for the new 10 speed drivetrain. It suppose to be 118 link 10 speed chain for this particular configuration.

    • @kidbaseball4
      @kidbaseball4  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like an interesting upgrade. Was your primary motivation a single trigger shifter for 1x10 rather than more complicated 2x8? I imagine so weight loss was obtained. the new drive set has a 34 tooth chain ring and 11-48 cassette. How that compare to the original as far a dynamic range?

    • @kidbaseball4
      @kidbaseball4  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Mark, welcome! My primary motivation to eliminate the front derailer and shifter was not so much for the weight savings but for the simplicity. Coming from a 3×7 gear set up once I switch to the one by 10 it just made sense. Less to fail while out on the trail. I also feel it’s less stress on the chain. The range is awesome. I have no regrets changing over.

    • @markrherman
      @markrherman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kidbaseball4 Howdy! Thanks for the reply. I totally get it, one trigger shifter (+ and -) is sweet when the downhill quickly becomes an uphill. Your current set has full range of .666 to 2.90 all on one shifter. The original set had .649 to 3,27 but on two shifters. The original had .649 to 2.00 on the 22T chain ring and 1.058 to 3.27 on 36T chain ring. You've just about kept the original range at vastly improved simplicity. Enjoy your videos!
