I would like to see him made the way he is actually supposed to be made ,a translucent body with the actual bones inside the molded body. And for the bones inside to glow. Great figure still. All of the mondo motu figures are great.
Move over, Mondo Mer-Man. This figure is seriously badass.
Not bad, I've always liked Scareglow, but I've always wanted to see them do an internal skeleton rather than just painted on.
I am...a massive Scareglow fan (from the original, MOTUc, heck even the lil Mega Construx!), right away first impressions on this extremely expensive Mondo effort: It comes across like a Fan Custom figure. The cost savings taken to not cast the head, body and legs in the same Glow in dark plastic as the hands and feet is just inexcusable at this nearing $200 point at release (now fetching even more outrageous cost in aftermarket.). There is noticeable clash of material between the head which was simply painted with GID paint, the body which was cast in a different color with different paint tone GID application, and the hands and feet which would have been the right direction for the rest of the figure. The accessories - awesome, great choices from Mondo, credit given where due. The mismatch of casted GID materials is very frustrating at this price point when there are great examples on how to execute in the original vintage and classics line... it's simply a large cost saving misstep or they didn't care enough to pay attention.
I really like these figures from mondo .They are quite interesting and well made , yet it seems they are made by people who don't have enough knowledge about MOTU .
I'm surprised you weren't temped to put the Scareglow head on the Skeletor body.
He better glow at this price. Pretty good version. I think it's better than Skeletor & He-Man.

Talking about how the bones are painted on the body, I think a more interesting interpretation of Scareglow would be having an actual molded glow-in-the-dark skeleton inside a translucent smoky plastic muscle body - which is actually sort of how he looks in the box art on this figure. I don't know what Scareglow's backstory is supposed to be, like if he's actually supposed to be a swole dude in a skeleton Halloween costume who also happens to have a real skull head like Skeletor, but it would be cool to have an evil glowing skeleton with a vaporous body around it anyway.
Me: "Wow that thing looks amazing, I want to buy one!"
Canadian eBay: "Sure, man... $600CAD... Minimum!"
Me: "Yeah, never mind..."
Still looks awesome, though!

One of these days I want someone to make a deluxe Scareglow who has a body of translucent plastic cast around a light up skeleton (I.e. Indiglow or something similar).
I could not figure out what was so off about this figure. You said it! The colors are flip flopped, what the heck! Man I nearly bought it, but just couldn’t get into it. Still love the original and classics versions best.
The sythe is from the 200x Halloween comic, which features Scare Glow. I think the head doesn`t fit the rest of the figure.

Joven coper. This is the best action figures its realy very nice into the dark room .its awesome and beautiful. And i like it very much.
It sucks that he was a limited exclusive. I'm a bit of a completionist. If I wasn't able to get him when I could I don't know if I would have kept buying the line.

That head looks like a custom paint head, everything else looks awesome!
Looks great! Just wish the Mondo figures aren't so over priced. $185 + shipping is ridiculous for a 12" toy that shouldn't cost more than $100-120

This was a surprise for me I didn’t even know mondo had released it till they send a email saying they had some extra ones and I immediately order it since I saw there rare and going for insane prices on eBay
Love this. But I do wish they did some weathering details on the body just like he had on his skull
Great video and very nifty figure. Thank you! Would've liked to have gotten this, but as you say, it was a surprise, I hadn't budgeted for it, and now, it's even more costly on the secondary market. Oh, well.

That's an amazing figure 😁. With me living in the UK I use ebay for all my figure shopping. I've got quite a few motuc but I've know where to show all of them yet. I've no mondo figures yet but I'll defo start collecting them they look amazing. Hope mondo will be making more good guys soon lol
This guy is the best so far, even better than Merman. Man at arms should be amazing too.

That figure is sweet as bleep!
Aside from the head sculpt and accessories the body was an easy reuse of parts to bring in more easy money to fund other figures. At this scale and price I feel though that the bones shouldn’t have been painted on, they should have been sculpted and set INSIDE a smoky or clear body.
The reliquary is my favorite part as well
I really like the way Mondo chose to reinterpret the MOTU characters but articulation is mediocre and some of the paint details like He-Man face being on a different tone from the rest of the body, seem like rookie mistakes. Besides Merman (my favorite Mondo reinterpretation and overall design) the other figures are not bad but for 150USD not bad is way less then enough. If these sell exactly as the TMNT did I will buy them for half the price in 2 or 3 years. Thanks for the review Dan.

Out of all these mondo figures that could of benefited from the original toy head, this one would of been it and they didn't include. Mondo, can't seem to get these right lol

The original was sculptured in Glow in the Dark white and painted black. This one is sculpted in black and the bones are painted on in white. That's why it looks off.
Beautiful figure.
And now for my regularly scheduled whine about the one goofy thing that ruins every Mondo figure... in this case, it's the paintjob on the head (or the body, depending on perspective). The painted bones on the body are flat and without detail. The skull is gritty and has tons of drybrush and wash detail. They don't make sense next to each other. I'm complaining because I want to love these things. High quality, re-imagined, super detailed MOTU figures should be a slam dunk... I bet this skull looks righteous on Skeletor though.
Might be odd but I just want the key and case mostly. However, I do collect skeleton figures.

Interesting one. Great review. But I think Mondo has overpriced their stuff to the point that even if I got one on clearance I'd have the feeling that it was too expensive and niche to have any merit in adding to my collection. Ooh la la.

As a completest I am definitely out on this Mondo line. When stuff like this pops up without warning and now they're now going for $500 to $700 on the aftermarket I'm not intrested in playing that game. Sorry Mondo, but good luck.

If Mondo puts out a 1/6 scale version of Castle Greyskull, you're gonna have to take out a sizable loan to purchase it. Or possibly sell a kidney on the black market.

The reverse paint on the body looks terrible, looks like he is wearing one of the Halloween outfits the Cobra Kai wore in karate kid.
The paint on the skull is textured and detailed.. The body paint looks flat.. it just doesn't look right. Mer-man and Man-at-Arm are by far the best of the Mondo figures.. Skeletor a close third. Do they have different artists working on these? So inconsistent with the quality.

Looks like these were all bought out by flippers and sold on eBay for 500-600 dollars. I blame the buyers more than the flippers. Who pays 600 dollars for this piece of crap?
I think that the head is a little big for the body. Nice review like always thought.
