    For anyone worried or on the fence about the maxwell and it’s size. I have a fairly tall and big head, 7 3/4 hat. They fit me perfect on the middle setting of the strap. I was worried it might be to heavy, I don’t find it any heavier than any other high quality headset. I use WC freeze pads and the headset is insanely comfortable. It doesn’t feel heavy at all when holding it, just well built. I do have a pretty strong linebacker type neck but I can’t imagine it being too much for someone smaller. It honestly doesn’t feel “heavy” to me at all. Remember these weights are in grams so even a bigger number still isn’t heavy. It will feel heavier if you’re used to all plastic headsets but to me it just feels solid and well built. Should fit any head very comfortably and I played for 7 hours straight with no weight or neck issues. Hope this helps

      hello , I'm on the fence to buy this headset because it doesn't have active noise cancellation and the weight !but I'm intrigued by it ! it has all -the things I want . my problem with over-ear headsets are the strap on top of it that gives me pressure on my head ! in my country it is 430€ (for xbox) this is the first I hear about this brand and want quality

    I really wanted to love the wicked cushions on my Maxwells, but all honesty the original cushions that come on the headphones are better, yes, they get a little warm overtime but it’s definitely worth it, everything is so much more immersive and full compared to the wicked missions, but if you’re willing to sacrifice quality for comfort, then I completely understand

    Would be cool if you could make a Hunt: Showdown EQ setting for the Maxwell. Sound in Hunt: Showdown is suuuuper important and can be the deciding factor. Also it has a pretty sophisticated sound engine and headsets should be used in stereo only as recommended by the developers, would be interesesting to see what you think about it ^^

      Game doesnt matter good set of cans are good in every game. İf you need to hear footsteps reloads and stuff a generic V shape game EQ will be enough. You dont need a 300 USD gaming cans for it either. Competetive edge sound is the opposite of GOOD sound.

    I wish WC would make velour/leather combos. I tried the freeze pads on the Penrose and they're only cool for the first 20 minutes and after an hour they're hotter.
    Velour for me doesn't hold cold or heat much, so they're great for long term use.

  • @MrSouthSioux
    @MrSouthSioux ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The whole cooling, throw them in the refrigerator marketing is kind of goofy to be honest. Wicked cushions are simply more comfortable and thicker where it counts and for me I like the cloth much better then leatherette. Much thanks for updated EQs.

    • @11202
      @11202 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly while it's just a footnote and more of a novelty. The freeze pads are kind of fun to pop into the fridge real quick. It is a nice sensation especially after a longer session.
      That said it really only works with magnetic earcup systems. And I'm still on the fence about it but having two so one is always cooling off sounds appealing.

    dude thank you so much for all of this information... I recently pre-ordered the Maxwell's ultraviolet edition.. getting ready for starfield LOL. and also have a pair of the '90s ear cushions and headband coming...
    one of my biggest things is getting the EQ right.. so I have a few questions or could you possibly make a video..
    I'm looking for the best immersive sound when it comes to single player games only. starfield, horror games etc.
    I know there's a EQ app on Windows to download the updates and do that as well.. but also on Xbox there's quite a few different settings different sound apps and they also have their own EQ setting.
    could you possibly recommend or a how-to video on getting the best sound??? and how do I start this whole process?

    Apparently Audeze is still struggling to meet the demand for this headset. I placed my order a little over a week ago and at that time, they appeared as though they were in stock and the site said they expect to ship in 3-5 days. A few days after placing the order, I received an email essentially saying “we apologize for the delay but your order should be shipping in August.”
    I don’t really mind waiting a few weeks but it’s a bit of a bummer when you get all hyped about something only to find out that it’s going to take significantly longer than expected.

    • @GadgetryTech
      @GadgetryTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is helping to boost frequencies that you want to hear for specific games, but it won't ever fully fix imaging performance. It's still a solid headset with all aspects of gaming, but EQ can only push it so far when it comes to pinpoint accuracy. I find that's it's good enough where I don't blame the headset if I lose, but at the same time, a couple others are consistently more precise sounding for pinpoint accuracy.

      I had that with my Penrose headset. To my understanding (that can be 100% wrong) it happens when you apply too much air pressure to the driver (?) and it somewhat breaks. To my knowledge no fix for it.
      I talked with the store I bought it from, and it sounded like it wasn't covered under warranty. So that is when I stopped using my Penrose.
      Seems like you need to be somewhat delicate with planer magnetic. When putting on the headset, you should never push the earpads into your head.

    Are these headphones really good at story games, or are they just footstep blasters? I have the h6pro and love the sound, but I want to have sidetone and chat mixing and im struggling with finding a dac amp or usb interface that will allow the h6pro to do that with ease and not cost as much as the h6pro cost me. I got the gsx1000 but I'm not enjoying it much and returning it.

    Not sure if it’s just me or not but I find that if I’m critically analysing the sound differences between stock cusions and the wi led cushions, I feel like I am missing some finer details with the wickeds fitted. I played around with a song and with the wickeds the ringing from the snare drum on decay seemed lost, but with stock pads retained some resonance.
    I also feel that the passive sounds range seems smaller with the wickeds, I really wanted to like them but I definitely noticed a subtle difference between the 2 cushions.

    Hey, just to be sure. Does the default preset need to be tweaked too with the bands you've mentioned or only for those who actually made custom EQ's? I am getting these tomorrow and i know for a fact I want WC cushions, was curious if the famous balanced sound will be preserved or tweaked still with WC.
    Also do you still use the Immersive preset or switched back to the default to compensate for the raised bass?

    Looking forward to seeing how these headphones sound compared to my current Sennheiser 598SR headphones which are like 6 years old at this point. I have been wanting wireless but waiting for the tech to be enough that its atleast slightly better sounding than what I have and it sounds like these might be it. I ordered a while ago but sounds like sometimes this month they are shipping not sure when this month though they didn't say.

      I went from ae5 powered hd650s, custom eqs.. to maxwells for gaming. When it comes to music I prefer my 650s but there’s some detail and accents that come from the maxwells that are still enjoyable for music. It’s a different enjoyment. I love both. They’re certainly worth the investment

      I wouldnt say these are peak headsets for footsteps. with certain eqs they can be. but the beauty of these headsets is how tuned they are, and how well they can reproduce multiple sounds that the user can differentiate at the same time. if that makes sense. it provides a fuller experience that alot of headsets drown out

      @@masoneldridge7604 You did very well!
      I play with glasses and mainly on PS5 and occasionally on Xbox and Switch, only Single Player games and no competitive FPS and I can confirm that in terms of audio they are the best.
      The biggest problem with the Maxwells, as far as I'm concerned, is the strange management of Bluetooth for Smartphones. If you are connected via Dongle it only transmits the audio of phone calls but strangely it allows you to record (not listen to) audio messages. No other sounds will come from your smartphone, at least if you have an iPhone like me. And this is a huge flaw in my opinion.
      If you like, I'll write you my experiences with other wireless headphones that I bought and tried in recent days together with the Maxwell ones, all updated to the latest firmware available.
      Turtle Beach Stealth Pro - Xbox: these are the ones that I personally found to be closest to the audio of the Maxwells but inexplicably have the maximum volume too low. However, to date they remain the most complete that I have tried in managing all sounds and peripherals simultaneously even without a PC, better microphone than the Maxwell (with or without attached headband), but they are very tight on the ears, even with WC FreeZe cushions. However, they remain my favorites right after the Maxwells. Indeed... if it weren't for the pure sound, which I consider the most important thing of all, I would have kept these.
      SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless - Xbox: too much treble, too little bass and if you raise the latter too much they distort the sound. Overall disappointing audio (the most '80s style radio of all). Mediocre microphone and terrible equalization management: every time I turn off the PS the personalized preset resets, all the others always remain but what I did I always lost. The possibility of being able to connect the 2 consoles to their DAC together is nice, but personally I found them extremely overrated. Always considering that I don't play on PC, so I can't bring with me almost all the customization possibilities that the GG program offers. They have the fact that they are the most comfortable of the 3 and the lightest.
      P.S.: I then also tried the Razer Kraken V3 Pro Wireless which, regarding the lack of bass of the SteelSeries, I consider them even better in terms of audio, but it is obvious that overall they are inferior. The vibration functionality is very interesting and could become a "Must Have" once you get used to it. Very comfortable and soft, shame about the complete lack of Bluetooth. If I had to choose a gaming headset and had to spend less than the others mentioned above, I would recommend these, perhaps buying them used on Amazon so that they still cost less than the Pulse Elite when new.
      I hope I have given you a pleasure in expressing these opinions of mine. I just finished doing a little testing and was eager to tell someone about it! ^^

    Just a question: but what is the purpose of the AUX jack in the Maxwells then?
    I am a bit thoughtful about buying them, I would have wanted to connect them to the PC with the 3.5mm jack (I think the motherboard acts as a DAC/amplifier in this case?). I didn't understand if I risk damaging them this way or not :c

    • @GadgetryTech
      @GadgetryTech  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No problem. For PC, you'd want to use the headset as a USB-C headset, or just use the wireless adapter. It will work much better than aux, as all of the processing happens within the headset itself. Aux is there for a fall back. If you bought the PS5/PC version of the Maxwell, you can still use it on Xbox, as long as you connect the aux cable to the controller. Whenever it's possible to use the Dongle or USB-A to C cable, use that though. Hopefully that helps!
