Yes, you can make i-cords in different ways. What is nice is when people are willing to make videos to teach me and I can learn the way I like best - or do all the different ways whenever I choose!
Thank you! I just practiced your way and it's fun.

As a crochet or of over 45 years I thought I knew it all. This video has been invaluable to me. right up there with the foundation single crochet chains and the gapless turning chain.
    Thank you so much!!

Wow! thank you for that! It's so much better to actually watch a stitch/technique being done than just reading the directions. Your demo was concise, accurate and very easy to follow. Thanks!!!

Thanks for this video! As I am only a crocheter this is an amazing video to have bookmarked! I have several ideas already for this i-cord, show laces, eye glasses holders, and amigurumi dog lease and belts, this will even be great to add tie-stings to my crochet hats! THANKS SO MUCH! Now I don't have to ask someone else to knit me an i-cord, I can do it myself with practice, time and patience! Thanks again for an awesome video!

Thanks so much for this! I don't crochet and I knit just a little, but I found this way to crochet I-Cord to be far easier than knitting it! I've just made 10.5 yards of jumbo i-cord (made using "Country Loom" yarn and a 6.5 mm hook) in a couple of hours. For those who mention "why not use the little crank machine", I would point out that you can only use up to size 3 yarn on those and so can only make relatively thin i-cords. The I-cord I just made using this technique used size 6 jumbo yarn and the resulting i-cord is about an inch in diameter! I think I'm going to make a bunch of this size and use about 60 yards to make a big, arm knit pouf! The arm knitting part will only take 30 mins or so, so the time investment will be in making the i-cord, but it's well worth the time invested... :)

I use this for my starter chain on more difficult projects, like trying to work with small fluffy yarn. It's hard to see exactly where to put the hook with a regular starter chain. This makes is super easy and gives it a nice edge even with shells.
