After multiple trips several Targets, Walmarts and even...Macy's (?), I finally got my hands on the strangely underproduced Keaton Batman McFarlane figure! Whether it was purposely done that way is up for speculation, but is the hype and demand around this figure worth geetting nuts over??

The true reason that the Keaton Batman masked is so difficult to find is that:
#1 The figure ships one per box.
#2 Collectors and Fans are already scrambling to get their hands on this figure.
#3 Amazon and other retailers have cancelled orders.
#4 With the removal of the belt and adding The Three Jokers belt, you have a near perfect 89' Batman.
Hope someone customizes the Young Barry/Returns suit to make a Returns Batman

The cloth cape is perfect imo. Really easy to modify as a wired cape by just simply putting bendy wire in desired areas and folding it with super glue applied. Great review!
Would have been better to go with this cape on the Dark Knight figure because Keaton's cape is more leather like as opposed to the velvet-like cape from Bale's Batman.
I don't care that that the figure doesn't look like Michael Keaton.
I just care that he looks like Batman.
And this figure certainly does.
I actually do think the figure looks quite like Keaton, it just doesn't look like Keaton now. I feel like the headsculpt is for a Returns Batman.
The suit feels like a mix of the Returns and Begins designs. I really like it.
The suit looks awesome but I wish it was a leather cape but very cool batman figure of Keaton batman.

That 6 pack I really hope they will have BvS Batfleck but reuse may happen on that since there’ll be a lot of tooling required for Kilmer, Clooney and Keaton ‘89 suit (rumour that is coming packed with a batmobile too) could imagine affleck may just be reuse. All cloth capes would kick ass
Ordered it. Got it. Love it. Best McFarlane Batman so far. More cloth capes.
He's excellent. Better articulation and scale appropriate accesories with interchangeable hands. He even looks like Keaton from key angles. Best ab crunch of any multiverse figure as well! I fixed his ears by shaving down the inside to make them slightly more pointy. I also used a Gundam marker to outline this jawline because of the skin tone paint overlap.
I'd like a good Batman returns figure now ( best Keaton suit).

The '89 Batman film is my favorite Batman movie and one of my favorite all time films. That said, this figure is a MUST for me. I've waited 30 years for a decent Keaton figure and this surpasses my expectations!
This is definitely the 92/flash batman. With the new 89 release you can see the stark differences. I would’ve said the same thing you did until I looked up the OG suit.
Idky older ppl are upset abt this Keaton Batman. They’re too hung up on nostalgia. Some are mad the belt isn’t yellow, the unmasked head doesn’t look like Keaton but it does in certain lighting & it sounds like they want a younger Keaton 😂
I don’t mind the belt change. I guess it shows he’s had to get more tactical in his old age.

Im in the older fan camp and though i can't speak for others, I can say that the point of having Keaton in the film is for nestolgia. The changes to the suit is to update him for fans who did not grow up with him. There are clear changes to make him hold his own in ways never seen before to keep him on the shelf as Bale, Affleck, and Pattenson. Now im not against the changes. But these things are clear as day and most ppl are made or annoyed I'd say because the point is to snap their childhood, and the smallest change can always be picked up on let alone glaring ones.
Imo a thing ppl might actually get mad at is that there will be more emphasis on the characteristics that is NOT Batman again for nestolgic purposes
@@slasher0630 the new look isn’t for younger crowds, it’s an evolution of his suits. In the world of 89 Batman he was Batman for a long time but we didn’t see it. DC made a comic that continues that world.
@@Michaelengelmann i know. Been a fan since day 1. Im saying the tweaking of simple things like the belt which makes the suit feel imbalanced. But the point is, him being in the film is pure nostalgia. There is and never has been a reason to have him there other than that. I think fans would have been more compliant if the belt was still yellow. Believe me, ppl do think that way. (Im not one of them) but im the minority.

Wow that's a beautiful figure I don't collect but I'd get the Keaton figure in a heartbeat.
The rounded tip ears are a child safety comprise. As far as movie Batman the 66 Batman did have a theatrical movie release so technically you have to have a 7" version of that one to be complete.
The ears are definitely not a child safety compromise. It’s on no other batman figures and the dark flash figure is extremely spiky
I’m not a massive ‘89 fan but I picked up this figure. Wow, I’m a massive fan of the cloth cape I think it’s superior to the plastic ones like my other figures. It makes it feel premium !😂

Yes, he hit all the proportions correctly, nailed the articulation bearing in mind that the figure will be seated in vehicles, and successfully even pulls off the cloth goods cape. Yes, the Keaton likeness sucks but other than that I love the figure. I sharpened his ears with a dremel by the way.
I love the "Let's get nuts" meme. Whenever I hear or see that line, I can't stop thinking about that photoshop meme of Batman and Joker with two baskets full of nuts
After seeing all the movie batman figures standing next to each other. I can confidently they all look great to amazing! The side eye Pattisons batman is the only face that could be better, before overall Mcfarlane is killing it with the movie figures all way batman from when he made the Justice League ones. There's a few duds here and there but overall they look great.
I like everything in this figure. The only thing i hate. Is that the eyes don't look straight 😂

I love this video! For one, your video quality is darn near perfect! Well lit and clean! You can SEE the figure! And even though I reworked mine, this is, out of box, one of the coolest figures ever to me! I even say in my vid that I think this is my all-time favorite Batman figure, so...there. (I may buy another one to just have a fresh one all the time...) Speaks for itself. Even the cape is fantastic. Best toy cape ever. A great catch for any collector!

I know they’re doing an 89 Batman in the 6 pack. I’m wondering if they’ll do the returns suit as well because that and the 89 suit are my favourite. I look forward to getting this figure, I wonder how he compares to my neca Keaton Batman.
Tis an awesome figure. Got two wips going. Paint the face property and its a beautiful sculpt! I completely reshaped the ears and on one i added the three joker belt for fun. Gonna get a gold lable and keep that one like the new movie though.

@DarkspiderDavid Yes! I only have the Omega Batman and Keaton Batman now, so he's my favorite Batman figure so far.
To paint the belt, Amazon has gundam or poca ultra fine paint pens in metallic gold. Those things are fool proof for accuracy.

Beast kingdom looks alot better. But i feel like it'll have quality control issues. I was never a fan of mcfarlane movie figures because they simply aren't detailed or accurate enough. Hopefully neca or mezco gets to do this one.
In the movie those two point of the cowl don't stand out that much. Looks kinda odd. I preordered the figures and vehicles from McFarlane's toy store directly. I never seem to find figures I want in stores. I like the different textured finishes like you said. It makes up for the lack of color.
It's absolutely insane that they let that leg on hip articulation/obstruction pass, just insane, ruins the figure almost entirely after doing everything else so well, it must be deliberate. "Gotta keep that bar low huh Todd?
Was it confirmed that is what we're getting in that 6 pack?
I only ask because it is labeled as a WB100 set, which is the current Movie Maniacs. I am afraid of these being static posed.
Also, there is also a listing for an '89 Batmobile with figure... I think it's a safe bet that will include a proper '89 Batman figure.
Part of me was hoping for a Returns suit Keaton, Sonar suit Kilmer, default suit Clooney, Begins suit Bale, BvS or default JL suit Affleck, and obviously a rerelease of Pattinson. I am sure this isn't the case, as it would be more effective having repaints/rereleases, but you also can't predict how McFarlane will go about this, so who is to say?
I just hope for Kilmer and Clooney, they give us two unique sculpts but I can see them making on sonar suit body, with different heads. I liked that suit in Batman Forever, not so much the recolor version in B&R. For as goofy as the batnipples were... please make them McFarlane.
If it were up to me, it'd be a 9 pack including Robert Lowery, Lewis Wilson, and Adam West in 7" scale. ALL CLOTH CAPES... I completely agree on that front.
So far, still just a rumor.
i believe mcfarlane doesn't make likenesses exactly right on purpose.. i just think it would be like him to be a bit off for artistic reasons.. i don't know.. his work is noticeable from a distance

Agree. I prefer cloth 90 percent of the time. Some figures look cool with plastic capes though

I got the 12 inch Spinmaster version, and it's far superior.. and it came with a giant Batwing all for 40 bucks.
My fabric Flash fig, I put both Flash’s in a pose from the trailer, the diaper on the fabric looking one was warped on the right side, I posted on a fb McFarlane group & I just kept getting made fun of by ppl who have nothing better to do. Some ppl are 🍑
I'm guessing the grapple wasn't done in black because it'd look too much like a gun. That or it's silver in the movie. Maybe he has to make new equipment in a hurry and doesn't have time to customize them?

Great Review! I think, the scale is wrong, Michael Keaton is shorter than the rest of the actors, especially than Ben Affleck. The face sculpt is not very accurate, but in this price range, maybe it's ok.
Repaint the lips and tidy up the cowl around the face and keatons features pop out.

I think the figure looks awful because the proportions look so off. Christian Bale is the closest to looking like he walked straight off from the movie, even Affleck. But Keaton looks like they tried to stretch him and make him look tall and have similar proportions to the others and it doesn’t look right. We know he's short and the suit itself is supposed to make him looked ripped and his cowl is quite large in relation to the rest of him. So this more superhero-esque action figure bod just doesn't sit right.
What do you expect for a $20 figure maybe if you want the likeness to be better maybe McFarland a raises prices how would you like that why don't you put that in your essay
Cape won everything they could have do the same on the bale Batman , bales cape is trash and one of the reason that figure was lame Ive seen some customs they do and bale Batman looks awesome with cloth wired cape

A fully articulated figure that cant raise his arms fully out to the side? Its pretty unforgivable in 2023. You cant do the keaton batman pose with his arms out to the side and wings spread. Easy pass.

This figure is one of mcfarlanes worst figures to date. Doesnt even look like Keaton lol. Nostalgia has people drooling over this hasbro looking plastic.

It’s no different than Spider-Man 2002 or Superman 1978. They’re the 1st movies of its character & helped shaped comic book movies in film.
Keaton, the suit, Elfman music, his bat personality are all iconic
Also he was the first live action batman to actually deepen his voice while being batman.

@@DarkspiderDavid91 it gives a less of a real look and more of a kids toy feel and it's easy to accidentally rip. The sculped capes gave the figures more life.
